This episode... This is why we come back to the series. This is why I made two people watch the whole series with me in less than a month. This OST is a masterpiece and it's coming along another masterpiece. That's a SHAME Netflix wants to get rid of such a hidden gem. Voltron will always live in our hearts
I just got back from watching this episode for the fourth time watching the series before it gets off Netflix and i wanted to say that the soundtrack really helped me to understand Shiro's words and Keith's feelings, and is kind of embarrasing but it made me cry man and i never did when I saw this scene before and i dont know why but it trully represents the great work you did, i just dont know how to express it 🫶
This entire track is brilliant. It captures and conveys so many emotions, it’s difficult to put into words. Genuinely, because of this score alone, S6E5 will forever be one of my favorite episodes of any series of all time.
It's been like 3-4 years since I've listened to this (this long already oof) and it felt just like the first time. Actually, this time it was much more intense because I've got the memories and the knowledge of what comes next mixed with heavy nostalgia and love for this show, its staff and its music. Wow. Amazing composition, Brian! Just like many others of yours. It might be some bias because I care for this show, but I will keep supporting this as one of the best soundtracks for cartoons out there.
Take a certain quote from the MCU and put Shiro and Keith in and it fits: “You’re my mission!”-Shiro “Then finish it. Because I’m with you to the end of the line.”-Keith
Genuinely, this track alone makes season 6 my favourite. It's my favourite piece from the series by far; it's just so evocative and definitely shaped my compositional style 🙏🙏 The build up to the 5:58 mark and the subsequent strings that come with it is my favourite section in the whole thing and it absolutely plays on loop in my head sometimes. It's made so much better by the contrast with the relative vulnerability that comes at 5:12 with the "you're my brother, I love you" line in the show too. The whole track is masterfully composed and I'd be here forever if was going to try analyse all of it ❤🖤
Thought of this today when I hadn’t in years, and totally agree with that climax at 5:58 being incredible and my favorite part of the track (and all Voltron’s tracks!). So memorable and still gives me chills listening
i've been coming back to this ever since i found this specific track in my youtube recommended after rewatching the show again recently, it really is one of my favorite tracks ever from the entire series!! what was the idea for the brief heartbeat at around 6:40? i've been puzzling over it since i picked up on it but i'm really interested in what it is!!

I feel you man... I felt the same way when the series ended first time for me :)
"Keith, you can do this! I will never give up on you. But more importantly: you can't give up on yourself."
I listen to this religiously😭
You’re not alone

2:02 When things get a little darker with Keith and Shiro

5:15 That one scene :(
"Just let go, Keith. You don't have to fight anymore. By now, the team's already gone. I saw to it myself."
Was the music in this series composed with a whole orchestra or by yourself?
I used orchestral sample libraries like Symphopia and LA Scoring strings.
@@brianparkhurst-musicandsou4185 Incredible job!
