Oh I love your Hobonichi selections this year! That’s so sweet you got one for your mom. The lemon is just beautiful with the CoC!! My first was 2019 Black cover as well, seasons of hope makes it new again!
I don't get it with the spoon , what the heck are you supposed to do with that? use it for a charm hanging off your traveler's notebook? stir your sugar into your tiny cup of espresso? I just don't see the point except clutter, which I already have a lot of! I do love all this stationary stuff tho - a wonderful haul !
Hey! I can totally understand how easy it is to just not understand the whole tiny spoon thing. It's basically not food grade and is meant to be a charm for 2022. Hobonichi has a write-up on it and refers to it as a spoonful of hope, or scooping up hope when you need it, charm is a reminder of that. They have a different kawaii freebie every year. I wonder if Hobonichi will make a gray cover with not much design on it - I think that would be more appealing to a wider audience and I would love it.

Finally found someone else that bought the 'Cat over Kanda' cover! It's the second cover I've ever bought from Hobonichi, the first being 'My manga and I', also by Taiyo Matsumoto! I'm also contemplating whether to put the plastic cover on, though my other cover did attract a lot of dirt, so it might be needed (though I have used it for almost two years now). Anyway, great haul :)
Nice! I don't remember how those covers look like that you mentioned but for this Kanda cover I am using it with the CoC. The cover is so light it will definitely get dirty with time. And congrats on your second Hobonichi cover! Beware of the rabbit hole ☺️
Yeah not everyone will like the combo. I think what's great is that Hobonichi has a cover for every taste and style 👌🏼 Your correct, the cat cover is grayish and tint of brown almost unnoticeable though. I would put it in the gray category. It's so beautiful and I'm using it now. Definitely a unique artwork.

You've acquired some nice combinations. My Hobonichi (Cousin) should come next week. It's my first Hobonichi ever, so 2022 will be a test run to see if I need a cover.

Haha it's like a annual ritual. I totally lied to myself pretty much every year and end up with a new cover. I think I'll just allow myself to get a new cover every year. Agree, the CoC this year is gorgeous.
The floral weeks looked lovely in the leather cover and also the floral cover on cover I thought looked great on both the black and the beige covers. That green leather cover is so stylish! Thanks for sharing.

I love everything you chose! I was so tempted by the Into the Forest cover but I decided to get a blue Buttero leather cover from Eternal Leather Goods instead. (I think the stitching looks rough on the inside of the green cover because it was machine stitched and those seams around the outside would have been on the side where the needle pokes out of the leather, if that makes sense. The needle holes always look neater where the needle goes into the leather, so they put that on the outside.) That CoC looks great on the biscuit cover! I think that’s the best combo I’ve seen. And your Liberty weeks looks *fantastic* in your Eternal Leather cover. Like they were made for each other. So pretty!
Thanks so much - yes, it's rougher on the inside for sure - the way it's machine-punctured (lack of a better term). I have to look really close to notice it though (can't compare of course to hand-stitched work). It's definitely not bad like the one I saw posted on FB - hopefully that person can find a solution. They sure sold out quick in my local shops! It's like if I blink too long it all gone! If I had waited to order from my local shops then I would have entirely missed out on what I wanted. I don't know if it's just me but this year I feel like things sold out super fast.

I was a bit worried about the same thing but it's actually not stiff leather so it's not a problem at all 🙂 maybe I'll do a video about the cover.
