using mine for 9 months now. if you're on the lookout for a subcompact sedan, highly recommend this one. it's a fun car to drive, very peppy even with the smaller engine thanks to that turbo. especially fun driving on expressways. fuel economy has been around 9-12 km/l in the city on speeds ranging between an average of 25-50kph. On mixed to highway driving, i usually get 18-23 km/l. CVT is also great, 95% of the time there is no delay. Only very seldom when the car seems to not move as soon as you depress the accelerator. PMS cost is also quite cheap. PS. If you're around Laguna/Quezon, avoid Nissan Lipa dealership as they have poor customer service and it took 6 months before I got my freebies and 8 months before I got my LTO license plate.

Never a fan of this car from what we are seeing on ads or pics but it mesmerized me seeing it real time. The dimensions is superb, the front grille looks like the one's on Nissan Leaf and the side silhouette is a thing beauty. It is comparable to segment B sedans.
You need to review the manual transmission of the almera. It has more power and you can get the oompff you were looking for. Plus, most people are interested in that.
We got a Nissan Almera and a Nissan Navara. Both are well maintained but having an air vent at the back is quite necessary especially during a hot day or during summer not to mention it has dark tint too. Just saying
If we're in the 90s, yeah it's true Nissan got superior AC system than the other brands in the PH. They tapped Calsonic to do their AC system. Calsonic used newly developed high-efficiency aluminum condenser and cooling coil cores, which were leagues above the old copper tube-style components of the typical air-con systems from back then. That made all the difference from having a comfortable car in the summertime, to having a barely cool interior. This would've been around the cusp of the ‘80s and ‘90s. Eventually, the other brands started using higher efficiency components as well. By then, Nissan already had couple of years head start in that aspect. By the time the other carmakers caught up, Nissan already had its street cred among car owners, enthusiasts, and many independent air-con shops as having the best and coldest A/C system around. The reputation stands to this day, even if almost every vehicle worth buying has an climate system that's comparable, if not better.
definitely an upgrade on the looks vs the previous generation. di na sya mukang inaapi, sya na yung mukang mang aapi. hehe. just a figure of speech, no to bullying.
There's a reason why SUVs are popular here in PH tho. Suitable on poor roads and floods we encounter all year round. But I get it if you are more on city driving only then a sedan will work just as fine.
Who said you had to drive through floods? I never tried wading through them even when driving a tall vehicle. Just be proactive and use common sense during the rainy season. If I drive through muddy or unpaved roads outside the city daily then maybe I'd consider a big, lumbering, rollover-prone PPV or pickup, otherwise a sedan or hatch or even a crossover just makes better sense. Some Pinoys just need to compensate for some insecurity that's why they choose huge, impractical vehicles even though we have tiny, traffic-clogged streets & small, substandard parking spaces.
Cool Review - 1. I like how it was detailed and not so much technical though it would be tough to get technical with torque Nm maximum from Red Light To 60 KPH 2. Torque Nm with 80kilo's on each seat - Flat and Going Up Hill ... will it handle ? I doubt ( my 1.5 Almera Top Of The Line did slight handle Tagaytay roads with 4 people weighing about close to 75kilo's on each side including me as the driver @ 60 to 65 kilos 3. How well does it handle in Tanay roads and Baguio roads with 320Kilo's in the car not including the driver @ 60kilos 4. Yes it's 1.0L with turbo, now this is the #1 Question regarding fuel efficiency being. Let's be frank here now In attempts to improve fuel economy, like the new Nissan Almeria 1.0 I noticed they are choosing to downsize and add turbocharge engines. These are small turbo engines that tout the power of larger engines, but with much better fuel efficiency. Right? You may notice however, your real world fuel economy may not always match up with the manufactures numbers provided on the vehicle's Monroney sticker. Why? Because Turbo doesn't mean fuel economy, it just means more power / oxygen / gas in the chamber to give it that boost so, requires more gas. Why is this? Well while downsized turbos do have many advantages, such as less moving parts, less weight, better packaging, lower frictional losses, and lower pumping losses, once the vehicles start to get into boost, that efficiency can be significantly lower. So what are the numbers especially using certain octane like 91 octanes vs 95 octane or even 97 octane and even our least best of all octanes here in the Philippines 98 octane which is an excellent octane to use for this type of vehicle. After numerous attempts to test with my 1.5L Almera 2017 for the past 5 years I've been using 98 octane since day one, it helped me save soooooo much money compared to the lower octanes. I won't explain, because of my duly tests with it's handling on the roads stop and go. 98 octane won the heart of our daily usage though it's expensive it gave us more kilometers to our liter / & peso :) can you imagine using 98 octane from Manila to Tagaytay .. I'm still Full Tank :) amazing test yes? Now, as a consumer, I'm still not sold on this 1.0L with Turbo yes it's nice to have that turbo, but then again the fuel efficiency won't be like what he said on the video. It would be only great in Manila work to home on flat roads and never up hill with 320kilo's plus 65kilo's - driver. What I'm trying to say is that after doing on these test. I would determine this car would be certainly underpowered for the average daily user. Prove me wrong, you know filipino's, they will overload, especially going to the provnices. I haven't test drive this beautiful vehicle but when I do .. I'll for sure know if it does meet the Filipino daily use with recreation like exploring in various places like Tanay Rizal or Baguio. The up hill down hill challenge is on !!!
If my choices are the following: 1) Nissan Almera 1.0 VL Turbo NSport 2) Hyundai Accent 1.6 CRDI A/T 3) Toyota Vios 1.5 G CVT Which should i choose if my priority is Fuel Efficiency, Cost of Ownership and Safety?
I felt this car is more fun than vios for me..i own both but for me the almera is more fun to drive..switch on the sports mode and the car behaves exactly like a manual car..so for me who drives manual a lot before, this is the closest i can relieve my addiction to manual driving

Hey Caco and the community, I'd like to ask what will happen to the new almera if you fuel it with regular octane 91 gasoline. Will it engine knock if you don't give it octane 95 premium gasoline?
