When I traveled the golden ring, it was very exciting. The ancient cities are very beautiful. I have been to Yaroslavl, Pskov, Vladimir, Suzdal, Pereslavl and Novgorod. Most of all I like the white stone fortresses there, although I was very afraid to climb them, they have too steep stairs and too high on the defensive walls.) And if you come there in winter, (and it's better to come there in winter), then be sure to dress warmer, because I'm frozen to the bone there.)))) I wish you new impressions.
Lovely trip down memory lane for me as a fellow student in Yaroslavl years ago! Did you say you studied at Yartek? I did too, in spring and summer 1995. Unless Yartek moved between 94 and 95 I think you may have had the wrong number on ulitsa Nekrasova - it was at 39 in 1995, and according to google streetview the building is still there (though is no longer a language school). Was Viktor one of your teachers?
Vologda is rather known for wooden houses. Yaroslavl, on the contrary, is one of the few cities in Russia where stone construction was carried out already in the Middle Ages, and therefore it was fully included in the UNESCO list. (Sorry my English)
@@theotherway9498 yea, it's always like that in Russia. Folks living below poverty line usually don't see much difference especially when sanctions are mild and mostly on paper.

Thanks John - now is not an easy time to be enthusiastic about Russia, but I plan to keep it going !!
And that’s where our passes crossed ( through Slava ) ! Great video! Lots of memories !
Thank you for the video, Luc! I like Yaroslavl very much!
Thank you Masha - it's a great city and a fantastic place to spend the weekend (even in winter) !!

Мне показалось, что всё, что создано в Ярославле было тебе вполне удобно. Привет тебе!

I discovered this town on my BBC Russian language course: I thought it was known for wooden houses.

I visited Mongolia back in 2007; guess I need to return to make a video
how's it going with sanctions :S
Unless you want to buy a Chanel handbag or go to Starbucks (which I don't), most people haven't noticed them much
