  • I went out to have some Polish food for dinner in Krakow. I found a Polish restaurant in the neighborhood of Kamierz, which is the old Jewish Ghetto. The neighborhood seemed lively, even though it was a Tuesday evening. There are tons of bars, restaurants and hotels in this area of Krakow. I ate some great Polish food and dessert. Then decided to go out and explore some of the Jewish quarter at night. The highlight of the night is when I came across a very old Jewish Synagogue that survived WWII. I invite you to come and explore this part of Krakow with me.

In fact, "Kazimierz" was a place near Krakow in the Middle Ages, where King Casimir the Great, hence the name of the town, allowed Jews to settle. Then Krakow grew and the town became one of Krakow's districts.

I wouldn't call Kazimierz a "GHETTO". It used to be just a Jewish quarter. In Poland, hearing "ghetto", you think of prison-like zone with people imprisoned because of race. So the waiter isn't right.

Cucumber salad is called "mizeria". The word mizeria means something inconspicuous, poor. Mizeria is just sliced cucumbers and cream. You can use sour cream or single cream. You season it with salt, pepper and chopped dill. Silesian dumplings- kluski śląskie are made of mash potatoes and potato flour in a proportion of 4/5 to 1/5 and salt.

The Kazimierz quarter needs to be renovated. I hated it when I was there 2 months ago it looked like Cracow after a bombing.

Smacznego, it's not often you get a bad meal in Poland, one of the many things I like about the country, must admit I'm not a fan of compote(kompot)

Do you miss Spain? Or are you enjoying Poland more? Poland is definitely on my bucket list.

Good evening my friend. You are really making me hungry with that delicious meal. A good price for all that food and even dessert. Definitely an interesting part of Poland. Your many travels helps to spot the accents of people that you converse with and pick up from where they are from. Quite interesting. Thanks for the cool video.
