When it comes to wandless magic, with kids it's usually when they lose control of their emotions and usually not too powerful. I feel like I read somewhere that adult wizards can channel their magic through anything but for it to be strong enough (like in a duel) it has to be through something with a magical core.

Somebody was able to explain really well why Hermione is well placed in Gryffindor and isn't really a Ravenclaw. Yes, Ravenclaws are intelligent and love to learn, just like Hermione. However, the difference is: Ravenclaws are attached to the idea of learning for learning's sake. Meaning, they are content in accumulating knowledge of many different things, regardless if they'll ever use that particular skill or not. Hermione, on the other hand, is connected with learning with a purpose. For example, in the beginning she came to Hogwarts all prepared and having read many books already, but that wasn't in vain, she had a purpose. She knew she was a muggle-born and would have to prove herself twice as hard, so she felt that her having extra knowledge about things would then put her into a more level field with the other students whom had lived in the magical society all their lives. Another good example is: she doesn't care for Divination (Professor Trelawney's class), as we've seen in this movie. And that is because she doesn't believe in visions, etc. So she doesn't really think she'll ever have any use for any of that. A Ravenclaw would be interested regardless, because the more knowledge to them, the better.
So, basically: Ravenclaws want to learn new things at all times and value knowledge above anything else. Hermione values other things more, like friendship and loyalty and will then use her knowledge in a way to help those she loves. Hermione would 100% let go of "useless" knowledge in order to save a friend, etc. She values useful knowledge.
    Hope that helps!

Let me start of by saying I appreciate this comment a lot and it does provide a very good insight into Hermoine’s character so for that I’m thankful to you. But I have to disagree, respectfully, and let me explain why. Ravenclaw like the other 3 houses have 3 main traits. Every house have more than 3 but each have 3 main ones is what I mean. So, Knowledge and Wisdom are two of those traits, knowledge is learning as much as possible, and we agree on that but Wisdom, now that’s where we might disagree. Wisdom is using that knowledge which you learned in ways that benefits you or others. So in your own words, Hermoine wants to learn (that’s knowledge) so she can be useful (that’s wisdom). The third main trait of Ravenclaw is Wit. Wit can be a couple of things but for this explanation I'll use the definition which is being mentally sharp and attentive. In the train scene, Hermoine realizes who that sleeping man was by looking at his suitcase which both Harry and Ron missed completely. Now, Ravencalws can be loyal and brave as well but that's not the most prominent trait, and similarly Gryffindors can be witty, intelligent as well. But when the 3 main traits of Ravenclaw, all match Hermoine, vs only 1 main trait of Gryffindor it made me think maybe she should be a Ravenclaw.
Now the explanation which I found the most acceptable for this was that the sorting hat considers what people want as well, not just what their personalities are like, the hat considered putting Harry in Slytherin but Harry didn't want to so the hat put him in Gryffindor instead and I presume the same happened with Hermoine.

Black (Padfoot), Peter Pettigrew (Wormtail) and Harry's dad (Prongs) (aka the Marauders) learned how to transform into the animals that they chose for their patronus, so Lupin (Moonie) would not feel weird about transforming into an animal. A patronus is rather like a spirit animal and can be the same as someone you are close to like a parent or loved one. The Marauders created the map too. Not sure how the twins found out how to use it. It is probably in the books.

    @nickmanzo8459 3 роки тому +72

The whomping willow was planted over that secret tunnel specifically so that Lupin could go to the Shrieking Shack to transform into a werewolf when he was a student at school. The Wolfsbane potion hadn’t been invented yet (it allows him to stay human in mind when he drinks it before the full moon), so he had to be removed from the students when he needed to transform.
An animagus is a wizard who can become an animal at will (like professor McGonagall becoming a cat). Sirius is a dog (Padfoot), Peter Pettigrew was a rat (Wormtail), and James Potter could become a stag (Prongs). They wrote the Marauder’s Map while they were at school when they started exploring the grounds as animals. They became animagi to keep Lupin company when he transformed into a werewolf as werewolves are only dangerous to humans, not animals.

The movie made a mistake with the Dementors, which leads to confusion. They are not on the grounds--Dumbledore refused to allow it. They're outside the walls. They aren't going to interfere with students in general, but if a student challenges them, they assume that they're protecting the escaped prisoner they're after. In general, this is a very prettily made movie, but it misses the whole point of the story. (Sirius and Lupin both talking about Lily instead of James is just... weird. This was the book that was mostly about James's history.)
ETA: It's not so much "No one knew it until the kids figured it out." It's more like Harry returning to the wizarding world started bringing things out of the woodwork--his first year, Voldemort wanted to get him at his most vulnerable, and therefore possessed a teacher and tried to get the philosopher's stone. Lucius decided to open the Chamber of Secrets in an attempt to discredit Harry. Sirius escaped Azkaban in order to save Harry from Peter. Etc.
Wandless magic--sometimes there's a burst of magic like what happened with Aunt Marge, but it's not magic that really works reliably or controllably.

    • @AffanReacts
      @AffanReacts  3 роки тому +4

I have to agree about them talking about Lilly, honestly no joke, made me think Lupin made a intimate relationship with Lilly lol
Also that explanation is good but what I meant to say was, Sirius was imprisoned this whole time, unjustly, and other people knew that he was innocent like Lupin and Dumbledore but never tried to do anything about it.
and that makes sense, the wand makes it easier and helps with controlling it

    • @penniegwin1320
      @penniegwin1320 3 роки тому +3

There have been others in other countries that have been using wand less magic. You are right when you say its harder to control but those who've mastered this skill for example Dumbledore and Voldomort are truly very powerful wizards. So if one can master that skill then they are very powerful in themselves and don't necessarily need a wand. However using a wand does help channel a young person's power into a magical object (the wand). That's one reason why Dumbledore and Voldy can do magic without wands. We learn in the books that Voldy could do this as a child. All kids who are born with magic can do this. Which is why Harry had revenge against Duddly and let the snake out.

    • @AffanReacts
      @AffanReacts  2 роки тому

I see, the way I interpreted Dumbledore and Lupin’s immediate interest in this was that they knew he was innocent. Because if they didn’t then why believe a group of kids than your own justice system. That made me think that maybe they thought he was innocent but were just waiting for something or someone in this case to try to find some evidence, rather than doing some about it themselves.

Hermione got special permission from the Ministry of Magic and Hogwartz to use a time turner to help her attend more classes that school year. This was because she has an insatiable desire to learn and the high marks to bear the load of extra classes. The condition of not being seen wasn't to not be seen at all, but to not be seen together with her past/future self. She also was not allowed to tell anyone that she had a time turner which was why she didn't tell Ron or Harry about it. Her teachers also knew she was using a time turner to attend their classes. Hermione's personality is of a Ravenclaw for sure but she didn't want to be there so the Hat sorted her in Gryffindor instead. Same thing happens with HP, the hat thinks Slytherin is good house for him but HP says anyone but Slytherin please and so it doesn't put him there but Gryffindor instead.

      1. The book Hermione got the information from, was wrong. Not her fault.
      2. Lupine's werewolf had been locked away (literally and with the wolfsban potion) for so long, that it was desperate for contact with another werwolf. So, it responded to anything that even remotely sounded like one.

This is definitely my favorite movie out of the 8, and a lot of that comes down to the directing. The studio took a chance with an indie director, and so we get this incredible stylized movie, that actually delves more into Harry's character and emotions more than even the book did. Hermoine planned out the time turner so that all of her past selves would be in different parts of the castle/not be able to see each other or have others see two Hermoines. While Hermoine wouldn't be surprised if she accidentally saw her past self, others would, and it could create a situation where people thought they were going mad, or others might think that there was dark magic/something nefarious going on. Also, seeing your past self could influence the course of events in unexpected ways and create paradoxes in time, kind of like the paradox of how Harry was able to save himself because he saw himself saving himself.. (I met my long explanation on Harry Potter reaction videos quota for the day).

Those are the rules and so let’s just go with it.

    • @HunterBelkiran
      @HunterBelkiran 3 роки тому

@@SimsinWonderland It creates a time paradox, where seeing yourself influences the outcome of whatever happens. This isn't necessarily bad - Harry saw himself at the lake, and was able to conjure a strong patronus because he knew that he'd already done it.
But say for example you see your future self fall and break a leg. The result would be that you'll somehow unknowingly create the conditions that lead to you breaking your leg - conditions that might not have existed had you not seen your future self do it. So it was the act of seeing it that caused it.
Time paradoxes are implicitly confusing, and there are many takes on time travel. That's just what I take from how this one is set up.

    RAVENCLAW PRIDE!
Alright, time to start my homework and write an essay to make Professor Affan proud.
There is actually a reason for Harry to continue living with his aunt and uncle, sadly it never really gets explained in the movies. I'm not entirely sure if I should talk about it however, seeing as officially we're not supposed to know about it for 2 more school years. Let's just say he doesn't have a whole lot of choice for his own safety's sake. If you want to know more, let me know?
Harry doing magic outside of Hogwarts in the opening scene is actually a pretty big mistake in the movie. He's not allowed to do so and could be expelled for it. He isn't doing magic in the books, but he is doing his written homework under the covers at night.
They can't get in trouble for their use of magic before they go to Hogwarts. It's seen as accidental magic that can't be controlled, seeing as kids are rarely in control over the things they can do. As soon as they go to Hogwarts and get their first wand is when they need to start being careful.
Actually, I think that the movies forgot that they used the word 'bitch' in the third one, because they pride themselves on only having used one swear word throughout the entire series, and it's supposedly not until movie 7-2. I know that technically this doesn't count seeing as they're talking about female dogs, but... they're still saying the word. It only happens twice though, and I do believe that's the only word they ever use.
In the books Harry had to endure a full week of aunt Marge's bullcrap, with her making snide remarks about his looks and his family every chance she could get. He put up with it because uncle Vernon had said he'd sign his Hogsmeade form at the end of the week if he'd managed to keep his cool. He almost managed it too, this would've been the final night.
The Knight Bus is an actual form of wizarding transport (although sadly... normally without talking shrunken heads, I thought they were funny). If a wizard stands on a street corner and raises their wand in their wand hand the bus will be summoned and appears in front of you.
It can drive at immense speeds, but it can also teleport long distances. In this way they can transport witches and wizards fom one end of the country to the other in relatively short periods of time. But it can only drive on land, the bus doesn't like water.
'That ginger guy' is actually the third oldest Weasley brother. The two oldest are Bill and Charlie. This guy's name is Percy, and he's very ambitious. The movies vut his screen time quite drastically, and it's only going to get worse from now on. He actually had some decent character development in the books which Im sad they left out. It would've added quite a bit to the Weasley family's backstory.
Professors don't usually arrive at Hogwarts on the train, only one other professor is known to have ever done it. Usually they use other methods of transportation, or they live close by enough to simply be able to walk there. I believe there's even a couple who stay at Hogwarts year round.
Lupin arrived on the train because he was feeling ill. It'd been a full moon the night before the start of term and he was still feeling the effects of his transformation. He used the ride to Hogwarts to regain some of his strength by sleeping it off. Obviously we don't know about this yet, and the movie nor the book specifies this, but if you know the Harry Potter timeline it isn't too difficult to figure it out.
Little bit of background on the Dementors: Dementors are manifested by pain and suffering, they are the by-product of everything dark. They feed on hope and happiness, which is the weird sucking thing you saw them do in the movie.
In the books it isn't as visible, and it doesn't just affect Harry, it affects everyone they come close to. It just affects Harry worse because of the things he'd seen. Ginny is also quite shaky because of them, because of the trauma she's experienced in the second movie, being possessed by Tom Riddle and all that.
You can tell that Dementors are coming because you will start feeling cold from the inside out, and an unnatural darkness will surround you. The Dementors itself are said to be darker than this darkness.
If you spend enough time near Dementors they will suck every last bit of hope and happiness out of you in order to sustain themselves. You yourself will be left with nothing but your worst memories and are made to wallow in them.
No one knows what's under a Dementor's hood, and those who have seen it can't tell the tale. A Dementor will only lower its hood to use its most dangerous weapon... it's quite romantically called 'the kiss', but it's definitely not romantic. When a Dementor kisses you it will suck out your soul and destroy it. It doesn't kill the person, but it'll leave it as an empty shell incapable of anything, no speech, no emotion, no autonomy. Basically you're catatonic without chance of recovery.
Chocolate is said to be a way to counter the effects a Dementor has on you, spreading warmth through your body after a Dementor attack and clearing your mind. It has some basis in reailty, seeing as cocoa raises seretonin levels in the body, and seretonin is known as the 'happiness hormone'. I like that little fact.
Rowling created these creatures to symbolize her own depression, and well... dealing with depression myself I can say it's eerily accurate. I do love the Dementors for it though, they're some of my favorite Dark Creatures.
The Dementors are stationed at Hogwarts on the Ministry's orders. Dumbledore didn't want them there, believing that the school's protection would be sufficient (lol proven wrong), but the Ministry thought it'd be best to lend an extra hand. They originally wanted to place the Dementors inside the school, but Dumbledore most definitely didn't want that, seeing as it'd disrupt every day life within the castle. Eventually he gurdgingly agreed to have them on the grounds and he urges students to stay away from them.
Yep, the flying on Buckbeak scene really goes from 'omg wow amazing surroundings!' to '...are we on the titanic?' in no time flat.
(sorry for jumping from topic to topic, I'm writing along with the movie, pausing every time to write, so it probably looks like the world's most confusing essay)
The ghosts you see crashing through the window are members of the Headless Hunt. They are a group of ghosts who basically have their own club, only taking in members who have been beheaded. They should've been in the last movie, but weren't featured. I kind of like that they make a small appearance here. Nearly Headless Nick desperately wants to be part of the Headless Hunt, but he can't join because his head doesn't completely part with the rest of his body. According to Sir Patrick Delaney Podmore (or Sir Properly Decapitated Podmore, as Nick sarcastically calls him) Nearly Headless Nick can't join because he'd be unable to join in their activities, such as 'Horseback Head-Juggling and Head Polo'.
The knight in the painting is actually Sir Cadogan. He's a very helpful, yet unhelpful painting at Hogwarts, extremely inapt knight, riding a fat pony and unable to pick up his own sword. In the books he replaces the Fat Lady for a while after she's attacked by Sirius and has to be restored. None of the other paintings wanted to take on such a dangerous job, but Sir Cadogan volunteered.
He's removed after he lets Sirius into the common room one night in book 3 and slices the bed hangings around Ron's bed in order to look for Scabbers. Ron wakes up, starts screaming, wakes up the entirety of Gryffindor tower in the process, Sirius flees, and Neville gets the blame for dropping a week's worth of passwords for Sirius to find. Later on we find out it's actually Hermione's cat Crookshanks who steals the passwords from Neville's nightstand and he isn't actually to blame. Poor Neville.
(Manicure is fingernails, pedicure is toenails, just fyi)
The 'swinging medallion' or however you spell it is actually a clock's pendulum. It's the movie's clever way of saying 'pay attention to the time'. You can see clocks throughout the entire movie, hinting at the time travel aspect you will learn about later on.
Also, I just have to say, I like how you call Lupin 'Loopy Lupin'... it's actually a thing in the books. There's a character in the books unknown to the movies. He's called Peeves, and he's a Poltergeist, his job is to torment other students with rather cruel pranks... anyway, he runs into Lupin one day while he's leading students around the castle and starts singing 'Loony Loopy Lupin' over and over while making fart noises in Lupin's direction. Just thought it'd be funny to mention.
It's unknown how the twins truly figured out how to work the map, though it's speculated that the map recognized the twins as two mischief makers and it helped them out a bit, showing itself for brief moments when they got close to the right incantations.
The backstory to Sirius wasn't told in a separate room in the book... although honestly where they did talk wasn't a whole lot better. They were sitting downstairs in the Three Broomsticks pub, surrounded by other students who could all hear what they had to say. Yet it was all supposed to be top secret.
Harry, Ron, and Hermione were sitting a table behind Fudge, Rosmerta, and the professors while they talked. Harry had to hide under the table, because unlike in the movie, he didn't have his invisibility cloak with him that day. Hermione magically lifted a Christmas tree in front of their table to hide them from sight so they could listen in.
friggin' comment section doesn't allow me to post my entire essay... to be continued.

I tried looking through the comments to see if anyone explained it already, but the thing with the Patronuses, there's basically a novice version that's just a mist or shield looking thing then a full power patronus called a corporeal patronus that takes the shape of an animal. They're usually significant as they relate to your personality or to a loved one, like Harry's taking the shape of his dad's animagus form. In the book, if I recall correctly, when Harry is passing out, he sees a silhouette in the distance and thinks it's his father but it's obviously him.
Also just heard you mention the book by Steven Hawkins and how you said it's the real world, the general time line for the events are the 1990s with each year corresponding with the grade Harry is going into, so year one is 1991 and so on, obviously it's a school year so it overlaps with the next year, it usually starts in July and ends in June

The "lived-in" comment you made was exactly right. But a one liner explanation for something this important (the Marauders) would have been good to include. It would have added maybe 10 seconds total or 1 minute if they did a whole scene.

By the way, Im gonna let you know that as a big fan of the Harry Potter books, the book fanbase can be a bit rabid about them. Liberties are often taken with adaptions, and the Harry Potter movies do a good job with the source material despite them not being to go as deep as the books. The reason McGonagal was so hardline about Harry's missing permission slip was because she was worried about Sirius Black and thought Harry was better off not leaving the school grounds anyway. That was why she wouldn't make an exception for him.
Also you keep asking why they keep sending Harry back to the Dursleys-- You probably know this by now, but the reason is because Dumbledore theorizes that the protection of Harry's mother's sacrifice will extend to her blood relatives. To somewhat answer your question at 1:23:06 because I didn’t see anyone else answer:
Hermione is taking so many classes at the same time that she starts to get overwhelmed. She also has more fights with Ron and Harry in this book about her cat attacking Scabbers/Pettigrew and Harry’s Firebolt, which shows up much earlier in the books from a mysterious benefactor (Sirius, but at this point they don’t know he’s innocent). This plus all of the classes she’s keeping track of and studying for makes her extremely stressed and she starts messing up. At one point in the book she doesn’t show up for Charms at all and Ron and Harry find her exhausted, sleeping in the Gryffindor common room with all her books and homework.
The movie shows these slip ups but didn’t really present the fights and stress she was under so it seems out of character as a mistake instead of borne from overworking and stress.
At the end of the year she decides to drop Divination and Muggle Studies so she can have an easier schedule.

What Hermione said was that Dumbledore claimed whoever saved Harry must have been a Really powerful wizard because the way it was cast was very powerful. Harry was weak at the lake and said it was his Dad because he saw a Man from a Distance that looked like James (His Father) but like everyone always says Harry looks like his Father so that’s what confused him. exactly. Some ministers of magic have tried to do away with dementors and not have them at prison guards, but never were able to implement it. So Dumbledore conceded to let dementors in Hogsmeade and surrounding the school, but would not let them on the hogwarts grounds.

continuing my previous comment seeing as my comment was too long:
So, seeing as you keep saying Harry doesn't need a wand to do magic... umm, this is true, in essentials, you can do magic without a wand, but it's usually uncontrolled and unfocused. The strongest forms of magic will always come from using a wand, or another magical object with which a witch or wizard has a strong affinity. Wands are most typically used. It helps to focus and guide the magic, making it easier for them to control it. So while it is possible for witches and wizards to produce wandless magic it isn't nearly as powerful as it'd be with a wand.
Also, wandless magic usually stems from overflowing emotions, emotions and magic are linked together in a way.
Aside from that... a lot of the wandless magic featured in the movies are just there for the movie's sake. Just something to make it look cooler, or more magical, while in the books they'd either use wands for it, or it simply wouldn't happen.
VII is seven yep. Seven is actually a number you see a lot throughout the lore. It's the most magical number, it pops up everywhere.
Uh no, sadly Lupin's a Gryffindor, not a Ravenclaw.
Harry's father and mother died almost at the same time. Harry's father was the first to die, trying to hold off Voldemort as he was trying to get to Harry. He was screaming at Harry's mother Lily to get out Harry and herself to safety, but neither of them had their wands on them, thinking they were safe inside their on house, so they couldn't protect themselves.
And sure, thinking that might sound like a stupid idea during a war, but their house was actually hidden with a spell called the 'Fidelius Charm'. That charm makes a house invisible to everyone unless its secret keeper personally tells you the address. Even people who knew where to find the house will forget about it.
Wormtail (Peter Pettigrew) was the secret keeper to this charm, although everyone thought it was Sirius. The Potters made the switch to Wormtail at the last moment, wanting to show faith in their friend while the others were more magically skilled. Yet Wormtail... turned tail (eyyy) and went to Voldemort to give him all the information needed.
You're absolutely right about the changes in the castle btw, with a new director come new changes. I will admit, I like the new position of Hagrid's hut. It seems to be further from the castle now, as it's supposed to be.
Yeah, they made the scene with the tree somewhat moronic. It's a fun moment of relief in between dark scenes, but it does come across as a big facepalm to older viewers...
Just so you know... it wasn't like this in the books. Hermione's cat Crookshanks walked under the branches of the trees and didn't get attacked, and pushed his paw against a specific spot, making the tree freeze up. It's a magical cat, half cat, half Kneazle, which is a magical creature, and Crookshanks is super intelligent.
Harry and Hermione were able to get into the tree without being attacked by it (for the most part, they never got hit by it at least)
The term animagus was explained briefly in the DADA class with Snape, but the main focus was on werewolves. An animagus is a human who elects to turn into an animal, it takes years of training and a lot of complicated spells that can easily go wrong. McGonagall is an animagus as well.
Officially Animagi are supposed to be registered with the Ministry of Magic, but Sirius is an unregistered animagus.
Sirius, James, and Wormtail learned how to become animagi while they were still at school after finding out that their dear friend Lupin is a werewolf. Lupin was having a hard time with his transformations, which are extremely painful, and seeing as he was being kept away from victims to bite he would often bite and scratch himself, which is why his human form is quite heavily scarred.
His three friends learned how to turn themselves into animals in order to keep Lupin company while he was at his most dangerous. Their company made Lupin less dangerous, keeping him somewhat in his right mind, or at least more docile.
James turned into a stag, Sirius into a dog, and Peter into a rat. Their nicknames at school were Moony (Lupin), Wormtail (Peter), Padfoot (Sirius), and Prongs (James), and yep, they are the creators of the Marauder's Map, which is why Lupin knows what it is and how to use it.
The four of them would roam the schools, either as humans or in their animal forms and discovered most of its secret passageways, and ways out of the school, underground tunnels and hidden rooms. They made the map based on all the knowledge they gained.
They did all of this behind Dumbledore's back. Lupin feels somewhat guilty about this, knowing he betrayed his old headmaster's trust. Lupin was officially not even supposed to come to Hogwarts because werewolves are obviously extremely dangerous and he'd been a werewolf since he was bitten at the age of 4. Dumbledore, being the good man he is, said that he was allowed to come to Hogwarts anyway and that he would put in place safety measures, like the Womping Willow, for example. The Willow conceals a passageway to the Shrieking Shack, which is an abandoned house at the edge of Hogsmeade village. Lupin was to be brought there every month in order to transform, and stay there until he turned back into a human. This way he could safely go to school, and no one could reach him while he wasn't in his right mind.
Lupin did this at first, but after his friends turned into animagi they would often leave the shack and run around Hogsmeade and the Hogwarts grounds together while Lupin was still in his werewolf form. James and Sirius could turn into animals large enough to stop Lupin from harming the people around him if they ever ran into someone. An action that Lupin regrets nowadays, but at the time they found themselves really clever and cool.
There is also quite the backstory between Snape and the Marauders, they're kind of like Harry and Draco in a way, they really didn't like each other very much.
Snape was very interested to know where Lupin went every month, and why he was feeling ill around those times. One month Sirius told Snape that all he had to do was prod the womping willow in a specific place and he'd be able to go into a secret tunnel. If he followed that tunnel he'd find out what Lupin was hiding.
Snape did this, and caught a glimpse of Lupin in full werewolf form. James was there at the last second to get Snape out of there and pull him to safety, else he would've died, or otherwise be bitten and carry the werewolf curse as well.
Snape was forbidden by Dumbledore to tell anyone about Lupin, so he kept it a secret. Didn't really help his resentment much though.
(Lupin's full name is Remus John Lupin)

Main Character of that game meets a witch that knew Marudeurs (but also they meet Peter and Remus on multiple occasions) and after you get the map, she teaches you how to use it. MC is in the same year as Charlie Weasley and they are relatively close friends. In last few years at Hogwarts they also befriend the twins - that's most likely how they learned about the map.
It is semi canon though - it is based on whatever Rowling has written over the years and there has been some input from her few times, but not everything necessarily fits the timelines. But it is a good explanation really.
It's obvious that Marudeurs would leave the map behind and taught other generations. Having a direct line of troublemakers at school.
47:35 Google grandfather clock. It's pendulum mechanism.
48:10 That's a common practice in our world as well. If a dog bites a kid? Same situation really.
57:00 For all we know Harry, Hermione and Ron all end up together at the end.
59:10 This means that the spell twins gave Ron in the first year to turn the rat yellow could be a real spell and not a prank/joke. After all it was not a real rat.
1:07:20 Normally McGonagall would allow it. But remember that literal murderer was on the loose hunting for Harry. Going to an unprotected village? That's a death wish.
1:07:35 No - she means it like they can't be seen by themselves. This can make you go mad. Nor they can be seen there by Dumbledore or Minister, because they will think they took Buckbeak away.
In general sense, though - through the year she was supposed to not be seen as well. But that's mostly due to time complications. It's easier to not break time and her own life, if she only meets people in one time.
She was mostly only using the jumps to go to the class - and then immediately going back in time to continue with her friends to second class. It's easier to not mess up stuff this way. Like for example talk about stuff that gonna happen in the future or retroactively fixing certain things.
1:08:10 All of them should be in other houses. Ron is whatever, he isn't really brave early on - easily could fit in Hufflepuff. And Harry was notoriously acting like a good Slytherin, always spying after Malfoy, always trying to do stuff alone, not to mention his ties to Slytherin through his Parseltongue skills.
1:08:45 Already cancelled you on Twitter and reported to UA-cam and Police.
1:13:15 They learned about Werewolves. You can really not do a lot against them, not with their set of skills. Also panic, also it's Lupin so they don't want to hurt him. Also book had it in slightly different way, so it's just movie's bad decision. Like Harry using Lumos in the first seconds of the movie, when he is literally not allowed to do it outside school.

Ello again. So, I dont know if the other commenters answered this already but I'd like to clear some things up of this movie you had trouble understand with.
    So:
    1. Magic can be used without a wand and with. It's however determined how strong the spell is if you can use without wand. And your own skill too. Moving things can be done without using ur wand but if you wanna like cast a spell such as Expelliarmus, one must use their wand.
    2. The same goes for non verbal and verbal use of casting spells
    3. Voldemort isn't a mudblood/muggleborn. He is a Half Blood like Harry since his mother Meropi (I believe) was a muggleborn and his father was Tom a pureblood or half blood.
    4. The broom Harry was given at the end of the movie, was gifted by Sirius Black. Sirius gave Harry another broom when he was little for just playing. Fun fact, the flying motorcycle that Hagrid flew in to deliver baby Harry to Privet Drive is actually the motorcycle of Sirius Black.
    5. The reason why Hogwarts looks different is because the movie makers redesigned it from the the 1st and 2nd movie. Everything is changed apart from the Great Hall, Grand Staircase tower, East Wing Entrance, Viaduct and Viaduct courtyard, the walkway to the boathouse and the thingy next to the Grand staircase tower that is called the West Wing Entrance. The landscape is new as well as the wooden bridge, the location of Hagrids house, the Bell towers, the long gallery, the training grounds tower, the Clocktower and its courtyard.
In the next movies, Hogwarts will be changed except of the same parts that hasn't been changed now.
    6. Dementors come only when they sense that they're in need or when they have been sent to the location. The time of day or night or cycle of weather doesn't matter at all.
    7. Harry's father isn't a stag. His Patronus is. A Patronus is a form the white flash takes after being casted out of the wand by Expecto Patronum. A Patronus takes the form of an Animal, always. Harry's and James' their for is a stag, whilst Lily's is a doe.
    8. The reason why Snape was so sceptical about Lupin has to do with something else. That will be explained in the 5th movie if you will pay attention.
    9. You should search things up yourself about the Time Turner. Its hard to explain.
    10. An Animagus is a human who can turn into an animal. James, Sirius, Peter and Mcgonagall can all change into an animal. James into a stag, Sirius into a haund, Peter in to a rat and Mcgonagall into a cat.
    11. The thing with the Dementors is indeed stupid. But it's a force of nature. Like how water keeps us safe but also can destroy us. Dementors were created in the most cruelst of ways by a wizard named Ezkridis. He lived in a place in the Nord Sea that's now famous for being called: Azkaban. Back then, he went crazy for living there. He went mad, so mad that he'd find lost sailors and torture them in his yet to be Azkaban place. These sailors eere to become Dementors and that combined with depression, dark magic and other crazy, evil things, Dementors were created. The Dementors would suck out ur happiness untill there is nothing but depressuon left in you. And after that, they would take your soul (that was that blue ba out of Sirius' mouth). Don't worry, the reason why they are used is because of Fudge, the most stupid minister of Magic there is. Once he is replaced, people will be the guards of Azkaban and Dementors will be no longer.
Dementors are what I find to be the darkest creatures in cinema and storytelling history.

Remus Lupin: like you said, Remus was one of the founders of Rome, and legend says he was nurtured by a wolf (well, actually some historians think about another possibility: in Rome, prostitutes were given the name of 'lupa", "she wolf", so...), while Lupin comes from the latin word for wolf. So, yes, Lupin's secret was pretty obvious from the beginning.
Also, director Alfonso Cuarón believed the werewolf thing was a reference to Remus being homosexual, and you can read a little of that in the acting at some scenes. Then, he found out he was wrong, obviously. Rowling clarified that Lupin's condition was a reference to HIV/AIDS, and the prejudice people have against someone living with that disease.

Ello, I just wanted to say the I watch every reaction of yours. Anyway, at the time of writing, I am in the first 17 minutes of youre video and I couldn't help but notice how much you focus on the background and its details as much as the foreground. Like, you know how the plot goes and you understand the characters but whule doing so, you see a random man disappearing a glass. Or a rope. Or you recognize Percy Weasly, or you read the newspaper about Black.
Coming from a movie buff and a guy whi does the same things as you, I am really satisfied with they way how you watch things. It makes watching your reactions so much better - hell, it even makes your reaction so much better.
You also include the big moments as well as the small ones and I know that requires a lot in the editing stages but it makes your video's 10 times better than other reactors. And Ive seen quite a lot. For me, youre probably top 3 reactors out there, if not top 2. Your content and editing work is so professional and really enjoyable to watch and together with your capability of picking things up, having serious moments and being funny in a goofy way, makes everything basically perfect.

I know Star Wars theory does a lot of other things but when he watches Star Wars content, his reactions and watch along parties are always attended by me and many others. The reason why I watch him is because he and I share the same amount of knowledge about Star Wars.
ItzAPrimate I watch mainly for the same reason as you. He also pays a lot of attention to everything. However, him not so much at the details but at the shots, direction, plot and he eveb goes beyond the plot by simply comparing it to real life.
Anyway, if you want ideas onto how to improve, of course you can for example apply patreon to it. That subs like me can watch your content early acces in exchange for money or smth. This wouldnt affect your content in any way whatsoever. Maybe an other idea is to host watch parties (watch alongs) on Twitch or even UA-cam.

Pausing to say: yes, another bit of artistic licence. Harry is very aware and conscientious about using magic out of school, He is terrified, after his first warning, that he is in serious trouble with the Ministry of Magic because of his uncontrolled outburst, and totally flummoxed when the Minister of Magic himself lets him off the hook. Why?
