  • Many Christians today would tell you that if the Holy Spirit is working in your life, then you will experience extraordinary manifestations. But is that really the main way the Holy Spirit works?

    Romans 8:14-17 (NASB95) 14 For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15 For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!” 16 The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.

    It is through sanctification that we inherit eternal life (Millennium) per acts 20.32/26.18. Justification is the first step and only lets you see the kingdom per Jn 3.3 vice sanctification in Jn 3.5 that allows you to enter the kingdom.

    Mark 3:28-30 (NASB95) 28 “Truly I say to you, all sins shall be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they utter; 29 but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin”-- 30 because they were saying, “He has an unclean spirit.”

    Sir...I was dead before I was saved 5 years ago and I cannot even look up at the sky without the tears flowing freely because He is mine and I am His.
    I do NOT speak in tongues or disregard His Word. And you say there is no passion involved.

      @@i-jamesazubuike9208No, passion is not evidence of the Holy Spirit's presence or work. I just know that consistently my desire for Jesus and the written Word are so great that I experience tears and joy. I move along in life while falling down and getting up and learning. Other times spiritual things I need are brought right to me. It's just that when I listen to this guy, I respect him...but he speaks like if you don't fit exactly his words your salvation needs to be put in question. They're supposed to be going after the outrageous tongues-speakers and those LOOKING for proof before they would even "believe".
      It's already been covered.

    1 Corinthians 14:5 (NASB95) Now I wish that you all spoke in tongues, but even more that you would prophesy; and greater is one who prophesies than one who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets, so that the church may receive edifying.

    Jesus is powerless on his own:
    All of the power that Jesus has comes from the one true God, the Father (2 Corinthians 5:18). Jesus is powerless without God. God GAVE all power and authority to his Son (Matthew 11:27; Matthew 28:18).
    It is God the Father who possessed Jesus in the beginning, before his works of old (Proverbs 8:22);
    It is God the Father that is the reason that Jesus lives, for it is God who raised Jesus from the dead (John 6:57, Romans 8:11);
    It is God the Father who teaches all things to Jesus (John 8:28);
    It is God the Father who commands Jesus to say and speak his commandments for everlasting life to us (John 8:28; John 12:48-50);
    As Jesus has told us, we are to serve and pray to God only (Matthew 6:9; Luke 4:8). Those who do not know the Father cannot know the Son, for it is the Son who spoke of the Father and came to finish his work (John 8:19; John 4:34).

      What does God's Word say. For you to say Jesus Is not God, and that He was a sinner is absolute blasphemy and heresy. Do not be deceived thinking you know God when you deny Him. 1 Corinthians 12:2 You know that when you were pagans, you were being led astray to the mute idols, however you were led. 3 Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus is accursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.
      -Jesus claimed to be the "I Am", "Ego Eimi", YHWH, 7 times.
      John 8:56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.” 57 So the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?” 58 Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.” 59 Therefore they picked up stones to throw at Him, but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple.
      -God declaring Jesus Is God.
      Hebrews 1:6 And when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says,
      “And let all the angels of God worship Him.”
      7 And of the angels He says,
      “Who makes His angels winds,
      And His ministers flaming fire.”
      8 But of the Son He says,
      “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever,
      And the scepter of uprightness is the scepter of Your kingdom.
      9 You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness;
      Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You
      With the oil of gladness above Your companions.”
      10 And,
      “You, Lord, in the beginning founded the earth,
      And the heavens are the works of Your hands;
      11 They will perish, but You remain;
      And they all will wear out like a garment,
      12 And like a mantle You will roll them up;
      Like a garment they will also be changed.
      But You are the same,
      And Your years will not come to an end.”
      13 But to which of the angels has He ever said,
      “Sit at My right hand,
      Until I put Your enemies
      As a footstool for Your feet”?
      -And again.
      John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
      -New Testament passages which directly quote the Old Testament interchange Jesus with God's name, YHWH, written as LORD or other words in many English translations.
      This is a reference and quote of Isaiah 6. Whose glory is John speaking of here?
      John 12:37 But though He had done so many signs before them, they still were not believing in Him, 38 so that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke: “Lord, who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?” 39 For this reason they could not believe, for Isaiah said again, 40 “He has blinded their eyes and He hardened their heart, lest they see with their eyes and understand with their heart, and return and I heal them.” 41 These things Isaiah said because he saw His glory, and he spoke about Him.
      Acts 2:17-21 is a direct quote of Joel 2:28-32, and Romans 10:13 again quotes from Joel 2:32 --
      Romans 10:12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him, 13 for “Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
      Joel 2:32 And it will be that everyone who calls on the name of Yahweh
      Will be delivered
      Philippians 2:10-11 and Romans 14:11 are direct quotes of Isaiah 45:23
      Romans 14:11 For it is written,
      “As I live, says the Lord, to Me every knee shall bow,
      And every tongue shall confess to God.”
      Philippians 2:10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
      Isaiah 45:23 I have sworn by Myself,
      The word has gone forth from My mouth in righteousness
      And will not turn back,
      That to Me every knee will bow, every tongue will swear allegiance.
      - Isaiah 9:6 For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us;
      And the government will rest on His shoulders;
      And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
      Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
      Jesus accepted worship
      - John 20:28 Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!” 29 Jesus *said to him, “Because you have seen Me, have you believed? Blessed are those who did not see, and yet believed.”
      Jesus is referred to as God directly by the writer
      - 2 Peter 1:1 Simeon Peter, a slave and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have received the same kind of faith as ours, by the righteousness of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ
      The triunity of God is clearly shown in Romans 8:9-11 if you pay attention to the nouns, and more so if you know other passages that show "God raised Him from the dead" - 9 However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him. 10 But if Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

      @@bjornegan6421 You're providing a lot of scripture that you do not know about. Why are you placing falsities about my message? Provide *exactly* where I said that Jesus was a sinner before you spout your own understanding. Explain yourself.
      You provide Philippians 2:11, which clearly states who God is. Jesus is the glory of GOD THE FATHER.
      When Jesus himself said that his Father is his God and our God, it is final:
      "...I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, _I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to MY GOD, and YOUR GOD."_ (John 20:17)
      You provide Romans 8:9-11 with no understanding of its truth, instead trying to decipher it by your own understanding:
      "But if the Spirit of Him *who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you,* He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you."
      Who raised Jesus from the dead? It clearly wasn't Jesus himself; it was his Father, who is GOD:
      "Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as _Christ was raised up from the dead by the _*_glory of the Father,_* even so we also should walk in newness of life." (Romans 6:4).
      "This *Jesus hath GOD RAISED UP,* whereof we all are witnesses. [33] Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having *received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost,* he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear." (Acts 2:32-33)
      Instead of receiving your reasoning from the doctrine of man, repent, and God will forgive you.

      @@tonymbondo Do you worship the Father, or do you worship Christ as if he is God. Because only the former will get you into heaven.
      For you cannot know the Father if you don't know Christ, for Christ is the one who points to us to the Father. Jesus never once said to worship him; he said to worship the Father, who is the one true God.
      "Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, *worship the Father...* [23] But the hour cometh, and now is, when _the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth:_ for *the Father seeketh such to worship him"* (John 4:21-23).
