If you’re comparing to other youtubers, you’d be surprised by how much is edited out. At least he’s keeping it real. Good luck with your expert wetwood campfire starting mmao
You really need some help with your fire techniques, if you don't mind, from an old scout leader. First, dig some sort of pit that can also be drained, like a U shape. Next, get way more firewood than you initially need. Line the pit with some sticks so the first coals from the fire don't land on wet dirt but something flammable. When fires are getting started is not the time to go gathering more wood, but to have plenty already gathered. I get a fire going all day in steady rain by lining the fire pit with logs to dry them out as they waited their turn for the flames. Get a blow tube for blowing oxygen on the coals, a tent pole can work as well - it's way better and more effective than blowing down on your hands and knees.

Looks like you picked a mud puddle ( 28:19 ) to set up camp in. When I tent camp I like my ground cloth about an inch inside the bottom of the tent. Nothing sticking out to catch rain and funnel it in under the tent. Better yet I normally camp in a jungle hammock so everything is up off the ground and under a decent sized Rain Fly ( Tarp ). It always rains when I go camping . I like the sound of rain on the rain fly during the night. If an Owl sounds off it makes it even better. Thanks for showing the real camping experience.

What A wonderful hobby!!!
I agree :)
Excellent. I like it very much.
Thank you!
Thanks for this. I thought I was the only one who struggled with wet wood. Seriously, thank you..
My pleasure bud!
In my most recent video I revisited this spot and filmed that exact location after it had been raining for a day. In hindsight it was a terrible spot to pick. But hey, it was an adventure!
Many beautiful places I liked very much. I am watching the video from Bangladesh

Thanks Bobby! I learned a lot of what not to do on this trip lol! Now I set my tarp up like this but I do that modification in the beginning
@@CampingwithSamBananas man i have enjoyed watching your videos due to the fact in pretty new at this camping thing as well kinda lol. I mean ive been camping all thruogh the yrs im 54 now but the only time i ever used a tarp is when i was a child and we built forts back in the woods lol . we rarely stayed in them over night but it was fun haha . Now i watch people like you and Shawn who btw lives in Ohio as well make shelters with tarps and yall got me doing the same

Really enjoyed this one m8. The bugs can be a nightmare sometimes 🤦♂️. Keep the vids coming 😉👍
Thanks man, I appreciate that bud!
Your big tarp over top one of the corners can go into a bucket or a water drum as a water catchment.
