Advice from someone who started high school in 2015: Get a notebook and folder for every class (if you're a freshman). If you don't end up needing them all, put them away and save them for next year. I think you should always have at least 1 folder. Stuffing paper in her backpack may work for her, but most students who did that when I was in HS were constantly losing assignments and handouts and whatnot. I highly recommend AGAINST cluttering your paper when taking notes. Spacing them out will make them much easier to understand. You don't need to conserve paper. I didn't do this in HS, but I recommend a graph paper journal for math and physics. If you don't want to write on graph paper all the time, just get some loose-leaf sheets (which is what I did). Graph paper is pretty cheap, and Walmart even sells a cheap graph paper notebook. Use something to organize your life, whether analog or digital. Not having some sense of how to plan will come back to bite you if you go to college.
1) NEVER forget a charger for your laptop 2) do NOT use your laptop as a folder if you don't want to break it 3) remember to restock your pills and check dates
GUYS! Don’t put papers in between your laptop like that! It can damage the screen and the hinge. This also applies to keyboard covers. Because there is something in between, it won’t close properly and eventually, like i said, the hinge will be damaged.
6:52 PSA: DO NOT GIVE OTHERS UNPRESCRIBED MEDICATION 😭 you NEVER know who’s allergic to what most of the time, school nurses will have tylenol or another type of painkiller which will abide by regulations and your yearly health chart :)

I totally disagree about having a charger. I think it’s definitely an essential. Im a boarding student and there are so many days that I have to do my morning classes on my phone until I can go back to my dorm and get my charger because I forgot to charge the night before. Computers also die faster over time (especially windows), so even though you have it fully charged, it might not last the whole day. In my first 2 classes everyone is taking turns with the charger of the one person who brought it and it’s annoying as heck… Def bring one its a life saver. It’s def not cringe to be prepared. ❤
Honestly, the charger thing really depends on what type of person you are. I always charge my laptop before I go to bed (and lay my backpack in the same place), so I've never brought my charger to school unless it's unplugged in the morning! But to be fair, my school uses chromebooks that have a pretty long battery life, so battery doesn't run low unless you haven't charged it for two days in a row. But, if you're someone who knows you can forget to charge your laptop, it's worth bringing just to not stress over it. You definitely don't want to grow a habit of telling teachers that you don't have your charger and need to ask someone else for one.

I really liked this video. I'm going into senior year. I'm more of a maximalist on school supplies but this was honestly good to remind me to save some money and only get folders/notebooks that I'll actually use! 🎒
I’m gonna be a senior in highschool this year and it’s a little crazy cuz I don’t feel nervous at all anymore about going back to school… like the past 3 years had me stressed with back to school outfits, supplies, the impression I’d give people and a lot more but now it just feels like another day lol. I’m gonna try my best to make the most of this year though! I joined a lot of clubs near the end of last school year to keep myself busy and involved. I’m also really hoping I have friends in a lot of classes (and here’s hoping to making new ones!) this year, last year I wasn’t super lucky and had lunch all by myself the entire year. 😞😭
shout out to incoming juniors like me 🫶 i’m taking women’s choir, advanced choir, ap music theory, creative writing/poetry, world history, personal finance, and online chemistry (i failed chen last year 😭)
I'll be a hs senior in september, it feels like such a responsibility being in the older classes😭 (my school has middle and high school students, from 5th grade to 12th grade)
tbh i don't even use notebooks anymore, i just bring a few sheets of paper for notes and keep them like dvided by class in another file-holder makes my bag soooooooo much lighter
Just gonna state guys: Having a roller backpack is inconvenient cuz you’ll take so much more space in crowded halls, since the roller bag is going behind you. It likely will get trampled on, and it will annoy your classmates because its likely to roll over their feet etc. Only bring that bag if it has added backpack straps.
Hey will people make fun of you if you come with a roller backpack or not bc my backpack are some time super heavy expertly when I will care it to go to me home but in school I will wear it on my back not on the grond= floor BTW sry my English is not my first language.
I promise it's so much better than you think... And honestly the hardest days are the 1st two (depending on the schedule) then you'll look back and say "why was I so nervous"
watching this video because im going to be a freshman this year but i haven't been to in person school since corona started (aka im stuck alone with homeschooling 👍)
I’ve been homeschooled since the middle of freshman year and I’m gonna be a junior going back to public school this year and I’m so scared but I’m watching back to school videos for comfort lol
My personal experience wasn’t too bad my first year-if I were to give advice, just try your best in school and have fun! Try being involved with clubs and sports, definitely a fun experience ^^
@@DjandSam4ever100% okay! I too didn’t do a sport in middle school, but I decided to give swimming a try and it was the best choice I made! I believe it’s on personal preference on what you prefer to do when picking a sport, I did this by making a list of things I liked and didn’t like to do and that helped me. Depending on your high school they may do a club/sport showcase where they show all the things you could play and do which can help you choose
omggg!! i’m gonna be a junior this year😋 just remember to try ur best, try new things, have fun, and be yourself! it’s gonna be a whole new experience so just be prepared☺️

@@allyspiper tysm for the advice! bcuz, this is true for me. In middle-to late 7th grade I was very involved with drama and lost my morals that year. I transformed into a whole different person than who I wanted to be and hated myself for quite some time during that period of my life, I’m glad that now I’m back to my old self and enjoying life once more. I would recommend this advice to anyone reading this incoming into middle school ^^ 🥹💗
If it makes you feel better: everyone is terrified especially other freshman. We all know how it feels to be new and unfamiliar. Also in my experience, college students are wayyy nicer than high schoolers.
Is anyone going into sophomore this year? (Also always bring your charger last year I kept forgetting mine so I would ask everyone but no one including the teachers no one had a charger so bring your own just in case you know)
it's okay if you do!! i'm going into sophomore year and trust me i overbought folders and notebooks both BUT it came in convenient for the next school year and i didn't need to buy as much..don't stress it you're gonna do great
Just go in and give it your all, run until you feel like you can’t run anymore and then keep running. Don’t pay attention to the people there around you and focus on yourself and improving yourself (in other words don’t focus on other peoples times, focus on improving from your last race)
I guess it depends on your school, but PLEASE bring your laptop charger!! Not every classroom has extra and it’s lowkey embarrassing to ask people for one 😭 Chromebooks die fast Good video btw!!
Please DON'T put anything in the laptop it could ruin the screen or the keyboard someone put a paper and didn’t realize there was a staple in the corner it broke the screen in some cases you could break the lever
I was in online sch since 2022 late oct. and now im starting highschool in person because i promised my parents and i know ill just be depressed and wear my headphones all day Alone. but oh well i just have to go with the flow.

All of them are very useful but the water one is my favorite. I drink too much water and everyone says that I won't have problems related to dehydration. I never see my friends in school drinking water, and I literally drink it when I'm bored. My greatest possible nightmare is forgetting to bring my bottle, it is so useful!

@@kitty032 it's soooo awesome like classes are easy, you pretty much get to just explore make new friends and do lots of cool activities. If you participate in stuff it will be a blast, but even if you don't it will just be boring but it won't be bad.
yesss! okay first, really try to not fail any classes this year or sophmore year because those 2 years are setting up your junior year for senior year lol. and junior year is gonna be the hardest, and try to socialize as much as you can
Mainly js chill freshman year cs that’s the easiest grade (for most people), so try to use that period to gain experience and meet new people. Don’t stress too much about grades (but still have decent grades)… because enjoy your freedom while you can…
Do notttt fail any of your classes if you can. Your freshman year makes the rest of your high school years so if you fail during freshman year it can make things harder for you. But if you do fail you can always do summer school which is super helpful and helps you gain your credits back.
As tempting as it is, do NOT skip any classes like you hear it everywhere but attendance is an important thing cause if you miss a few days that can turn into more and it adds up (it was such a big issue for me) you dont want to spend your Saturdays in school making up days
I had to have a roller backpack in 7th grade (covid 20-21) and we didn’t have access to lockers and I have scoliosis so I was not able to carry a backpack all day with all my stuff🤣🥲
Talk to your teachers and let them know when you need help most of them are really nice but ask questions and finish your work on timedon’t stress if u have a bad grade ask your teacher what you can do about it, and join clubs and sports that interest you trust me you’ll meet so many new people and finally don’t worry to much about other peoples opinion nobody really cares what you do everybody is in their own line just try to stay out of drama ^^
Join an afterschool club or sports if you can, depending if you like it or not, it’ll motivate you to keep your grades up. If you don’t end up going that, just try to give yourself a schedule afterschool, have a specific time set aside for yourself to do homework, and give yourself 10-15 minute breaks when you’re doing homework, no matter if you’re motivated to keep going, it’s good to take breaks, use them for snacks to energize yourself, but keep distracting devices away during your homework time. Don’t overwork yourself, it’s not easy but your freshman year is just as important as your junior and Senior year. And good luck, you got this 🗣️🙏🏼🔥🔥🔥
do EVERYTHING... I didn't do anything and I was bored out of my mind, the most fun I had was dance class... but yeah join anything, BE ATHLETIC, being and staying fit is vital for good mental health. for good grades really try to not like use phones in class, unless you're 100% sure you're done. no matter how bored you are it is such an easy distraction. also start looking at life after high school a little early, don't give it your all and still live in the moment, but some planning is important. edit: also take hard classes (for possible college credits + it looks nice), just not English maybe cause its a lot of essays and it'll take up a lot of time..... but the rest are easy and ask teachers for help when needed.
I’m a sophomore but somethings I wish I spent more time on was clubs! Don’t stress too much on freshman year, it should be your easiest year. 1. Pay attention to your classes! The subject isn’t too difficult if you understand the content, otherwise you can study for it. But do not just reread notes, watch videos instead, and actively practice by doing problems found online! 2. Clubs. It’s a good time to be social and make new friends, as well as participate in activities that they offer 3. Take breaks!!! Obviously not too long, but also don’t just scroll on your phone for hours too 4. Do extra credit!!! Don’t stress too hard on freshman year. I manage to maintain straight As on report cards, but it also came with occasional Cs in the grade book (quizzes, tests). You just have to talk to your teachers to see if you can make up for it!
🎒 really enjoyed this video, though i didn't understand some things because i go to school in the UK, i can relate quite a lot and i found it useful. ❤❤
This video was so helpful❤ Next month is going to be my first year of highschool (year 8), does anyone have any advice about anything to prepare for HS (friends, workload, Extra Curriculars, etc). Ty 😊
Year 8 itself is pretty chill but it's a good year to start growing some study methods to see what works (I know that sounds boring but it is good to have once the workload starts becoming intense in the coming years of hs) and make sure you have a good group of close friends you can lean on throughout the future years because it is a big change from what youre used and the comfort of having people around you is a big help going through the year. I really recc extra curriculars while you still have time and while the workload isnt heavy so you can see what else youre passionate about or maybe even something you want to continue in the future. Good luck in hs and all the best!

im going to into freshman year and I loveee these videos

I'll be a hs senior in september, it feels like such a responsibility being in the older classes😭 (my school has middle and high school students, from 5th grade to 12th grade)
tbh i don't even use notebooks anymore, i just bring a few sheets of paper for notes and keep them like dvided by class in another file-holder
makes my bag soooooooo much lighter
Just gonna state guys: Having a roller backpack is inconvenient cuz you’ll take so much more space in crowded halls, since the roller bag is going behind you. It likely will get trampled on, and it will annoy your classmates because its likely to roll over their feet etc. Only bring that bag if it has added backpack straps.
Hey will people make fun of you if you come with a roller backpack or not bc my backpack are some time super heavy expertly when I will care it to go to me home but in school I will wear it on my back not on the grond= floor BTW sry my English is not my first language.

My personal experience wasn’t too bad my first year-if I were to give advice, just try your best in school and have fun! Try being involved with clubs and sports, definitely a fun experience ^^
@@chibifrenchfry411 I want to join a sport but i didnt play in middle school what do i do 😭
@@DjandSam4ever100% okay!

I still carry notebooks cuz we're not allowed to have our laptops open during lectures
Going into my freshmen year of college I'm horrified
If it makes you feel better: everyone is terrified especially other freshman. We all know how it feels to be new and unfamiliar. Also in my experience, college students are wayyy nicer than high schoolers.
Is anyone going into sophomore this year? (Also always bring your charger last year I kept forgetting mine so I would ask everyone but no one including the teachers no one had a charger so bring your own just in case you know)

Or if u bring it never give it to anyone lol

Guys as a future freshman if you have any tips please reply I have no idea what I’m doing💀
yesss! okay first, really try to not fail any classes this year or sophmore year because those 2 years are setting up your junior year for senior year lol. and junior year is gonna be the hardest, and try to socialize as much as you can
Mainly js chill freshman year cs that’s the easiest grade (for most people), so try to use that period to gain experience and meet new people. Don’t stress too much about grades (but still have decent grades)… because enjoy your freedom while you can…
Go to orientation if they have it, so then you can Try and find your classes
Do notttt fail any of your classes if you can. Your freshman year makes the rest of your high school years so if you fail during freshman year it can make things harder for you. But if you do fail you can always do summer school which is super helpful and helps you gain your credits back.
As tempting as it is, do NOT skip any classes like you hear it everywhere but attendance is an important thing cause if you miss a few days that can turn into more and it adds up (it was such a big issue for me) you dont want to spend your Saturdays in school making up days
The insult I got with the roller backpack in literally the first 50 seconds into the video
Prolly bc the roller backpacks are the most annoying shit when ur tryna go to class in a crowded hallway

@@sugakookie8686 thank you so muchhh
2. Clubs. It’s a good time to be social and make new friends, as well as participate in activities that they offer
3. Take breaks!!! Obviously not too long, but also don’t just scroll on your phone for hours too
What’s the backpack brand? It looks like a very nice quality one
I'm an art student, non of this applies to me. Where are your A3 folder, the brushes, the cardbosrd and the washcolor safe sketchbook? /j

JINY!! I’m taking Calc AB this year.. were you also not allowed to use calculators? Was it hard for you?
It is nice to carry a computer or iPad instead of 10 books and ten notebooks 🗿💔
Headphones are forbidden, phones are forbidden, computers are forbidden, even makeup and skin care powders are forbidden, Small mirror are also forbidden, nail polish is forbidden. Accessories are also prohibited
Did I forget something else?
Oh yes, anyone who breaks these rules will be punished and may even result in you being expelled from school.
😀💔
You're so pretty omg???
I’ve been using a rolling backpack because I have back issues and it really hurts to wear a regular one. Is there any other things I can try to use.

Do what you want forever. Use the rolling backpack. Don't let anyone dim your light.
Just use the rolling backpack
