What a beautiful hymn! What beautiful lyrics! It really is true, what begins with tribulations ends in the love of God. Rom 5:3-5: "And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us." Rom 8:18: "For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us." Rom 8:28: "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."
Amen Alexander! Yes this Hymn is my favorite of all time. When I look at myself, in the context of making music to glorify the Lord, I see in myself the same 'hidden evils of the heart.' Even in my prayer life. And find myself crying out. 'Lord have mercy on me, a sinner!' And can trust Him, knowing that He is at work in my life, that I contribute nothing to my salvation, that my life is his work. May we see more of who Jesus is, and may it work down deep into our hearts that we might know Him more. Bless ya Alexander. Thanks for the encouragement.
