I had the privilege of seeing the man who narrated this video retire. The very voice that drew me into this career field spoke right in front of me. Amazing
I was USAF Security Police 71-75. I met some of the best people in the USAF, and some of the worst. I arrested a guy for shooting another airman in a dorm room, I arrested a Lieutenant for exposing himself at Base HQ, I arrested a guy for trying to get into a C-141 he wasn't authorized to board, I almost shot two civilians for trying to get over an alert area fence. Two guys I worked with were caught stealing from the Base Exchange warehouse, I knew a K-9 guy who was caught breaking into a SRAM building where nuclear components are assembled. I've seen guys dis-obey orders from Officers and nothing happened to them, I've seen a guy nearly court marshaled for accidentally breaking a light fixture. I dealt with numerous assaults, thefts and jack ass lazy mother fuckers who have never worked a day in their life and they ended up next to me at Guard Mount holding a loaded gun and pretending to be Rambo and nearly shooting someone. I saw fights between, flying officers and non-flying officers at the O Club, fights between enlisted and officers, and race related fights between black and white guys, fights between different Squadrons over who's more "bad ass", and even fights over who got the last Dr Pepper off the food truck. (yes, that petty) I even knew of a full Colonel (Wing Commander) assault a K-9 handler. I stood guard on a flight-line that was so hot the glue that held the soles of my combat boots melted, I've seen rain so hard that it stopped B-52's from launching during ArcLight, and was at a Stateside base that had -30 degrees in the winter and wind blowing at 45mph. I also learned to spit-shine shoes to British Guards standards, iron duty uniforms with so much starch in them they were stiff as boards. learned to shoot with precision, care for myself in tough situations, think on my own and rely on some of the best friends that I am still in contact with to this day. Would I do it again ? Yes. Was it fun ? Sometimes. Would I recommend it ? Only on this condition, you realize you are VOLUNTARILY JOINING the military. It isn't like a job anywhere else, you work your ass off and do the best you can, for you, not for anyone else, you do it for YOU.
You are amazing for posting this. I know a SF who has PTSD personally after being in and saw some stuff. Thank you for your service and your posting your story. From one professional to another, I'm here for you brother. God speed. Aim High.
I started out a 13 year assignment in Air & Security Police 62 years ago. It wasn't by choice - Air Force needs prevail - I wouldn't change the experience for anything. I performed almost everything in police work during those years and then went on in the training & education and First Sergeant fields. I finished my 29 year career as an air division Senior Enlisted Adviser retiring as a CMsgt and would do it all over again if they would let me. I wish you all well.
You did God's work on Earth. Bless you Msgt. I served 91-00 as a Patrolman. Best experience was being named an 'Expert Witness' in Fed Court. Worst was losing so many friends at Khobar Towers.
Proud to have been a Defender for over 30 years and still going. Aim High Defenders and be proud of a long legacy of those who have protected our Air Force people and assets since our inception in 1947!
Makes me proud to be SF. Sometimes moral and motivation is low but the people you work with is all that matters, that and the mission. Do what you’re told, no less, go for more if you’re high speed, go for more if you’re not. Nothing is better than trying to improve yourself and make yourself look better in this career field.
Air Force Security Forces 06-12 member of the scorpions camp bucca 08 and the Reapers Bagram Airfield 11-12. I was a .50 cal gunner on convoys, route clearance and presence patrols. I'm proud of this video. 4 deployments in 6 years and they were the best time I've ever had. I founded Warriors Next Adventure 501c3 too keep my brothers and sisters alive after they get out. Fresh Tech Schooler here. Security Forces Tech School isn't that bad. Its decently long so when you get to tech school, buy shit to make your dorm enough like home, but don't spend all that cash you earned in BMT. Oh, and my advise for the tech school is to not "pre-game" your training, take each day as it comes. Also, don't worry about your tech school during or before BMT. Focus on completing BMT before you focus on becoming a Defender.
Also, think about the bases that you will want to be stationed at because you will make your dream sheet during BMT. If you really want overseas, I recommend putting extended long on your overseas picks on your sheet. Doing this doesn't necessarily mean you will get an extended long tour, I put Misawa down as my number 3 on my OCONUS for an extended long, but didn't end up getting an extended long tour. I leave this Friday for Japan! Don't mistake this as bragging, remember this comment whenever you are going through the rough times in your training. You have to deal with the bullshit to get to the fun stuff.
This is what I originally wanted to be in the Air Force, the Security Forces (Police) of the Air Force. I have hip damage from a drunk driver that hit me so I'll never be in the Military or Lawenforcement. I am really just happy to be just a Security Gaurd working for a current security Gaurd company. 👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 I've been a Security Gaurd working for a lot of security Gaurd compianes for six years now. 🇺🇸👍👍

Went in as a LE specialist in 1986. Did 21 years active and Guard. It also led to my federal LE career as a Criminal Investigator with the USMS. Now retired from both, zero regrets.
10 year Security Forces Vet, 2004-2013 (LA/ND)...couldn't be more proud of my career...now serving as a LEO. No...not everyday was peachy but the mission wasn't about me...given the opportunity I'd do it all over again. Thank you to my brothers and sisters who have served and those currently and looking to to defend the fort! God bless!
Rewatching this video after finding out on Monday that I ship to basic on February 9, 2021 and that I landed Security Forces(my first) as my job for the next 4 years. Excited and ready for this next chapter of my life to begin in the next 2 months.
Thanks for your service and your service. I was lucky I went through L.E. training in the mid 70's in simpler day's. Love your video! 11/14/74-11)14/78!
My experience as a AP from 1961 to 1964 in France. As an E1 stood long boring hours in all kinds of weather in poor Korean War era foul weather gear guarding alert aircraft. As an E 2 worked area entrance gates and base patrol and went to K 9 school in Germany. Patrolled base areas at night with a k9. E 3 promoted to K9 flight commander. Transferred to Sabotage Alert Team Leader. Even thou this was during the Berlin Crisis in 1961 and the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962, It was a very boring assignment and drinking was our main escape from it.
almost four years. four years. in those four years, i will be starting to train for the air force. if i get in, i will proudly serve. the wild blue yonder will be part of me. aim high airmen
I was a Law Enforcement supervisor/Flight Chief (81172). Graduated from the Police Academy number four in my class in 1980. Could write a book! I miss being an AF LEO! Best AFSC of them all.
I am a Former Security Policeman 6 years Active/9 years Air National Guard and I can tell you I wouldn't trade my time in the USAF Security Police for anything ...I loved it! It is what you make it. I was stationed at Dyess AFB for 3 years in the Strategic Air Command..we had a squadron of B52D's..4 Nuclear uploaded on alert at all times. We also had 3 squadron's of C-130's. I did Fly Away Security. We trained 4 times a year in Air Base Ground Defense at Ft. Hood Army Base against the US Army 7th Calvary Scouts. I was on one of the first EST's..Emergency Service Team's (SWAT) in the Air Force. I got to attend the FBI SWAT School and we got to put on EST training demonstrations along with the Combat Control Team across the street from Security Control. (We loaded on 2 C 130's with a Combat Control Team climbed to 20,000 ft., the CCT did a halo jump. After deploying the CCT the 130's spiraled down and did an Assault landing on a dirt strip. We deployed in our Armored vehicles out the back of the C130's and took the objective, reloaded with the nuclear weapon we recovered from the Terrorists and did a Assault takeoff)!! I was stationed for 1 year in Turkey at a secret MUNSS site. I was the NCOIC of Arms and Equipment for the Security detachment and also the Team Leader for the RRT ( Recapture and Recovery Team) a joint Turkish - American Anti-terrorist Team. When I rotated back to the World, I was assigned for 2 years at Langley AFB, VA to Headquarters Tactical Air Command. The unit I was in is the Tactical Air Command Guard...we were the Security for the CINCTAC (Commander and Chief Tactical Air Command..4 Star General). During my time in the Alabama Air National Guard I got to go to "Sliver Flag Alpha" in Indian Springs, NV, the USAF SP Desert Warfare and Survival School. It is what you make it, I did a lot of different things in the Security Police Field....AND LOVED EVERY MINUTE... except for the time I spent in a Turkish Military Prison..but that is another story!
This a touching video that gave me goose bumps The pride in being a Security Police with the Blue Beret traditions, outstanding. GOD speed Security Police, now Security Force and United States Air Force (SP 1980 to 1094)
My dad was a master sergeant for base police for 20 years. This video is super cool because some of the pictures in them look just like the ones of my dad when he was active duty.
Security Forces were always interesting to work around. I was Combat Arms (retired before they combined us with Security Police in 97). Also my Dad was Air Police (the old name for Security Forces pre-70's) from 1948-1968, so I got a first hand look at Security Forces from the personal and work end.
That quick pic of Liz Jacobson and her buddies shows the camaraderie they had. Wiki shows how she was honored and that her base & her career field will always remember her.
Defensor Fortis. The best job I ever had in my life. Like any job you get out what you put in. There are two branches of security police, law enforcement which is like a regular cop and security who defend the base and its resources. If you want to drive around in a police car giving tickets be sure your recruiter has it right because they don't mind messing people over to get their numbers.
Thank you for your service. Security Forces has combined into one branch rather than having the previous Security Police and Law Enforcement aspects. Members join under one career field (Security Forces). Pam Air Force and Space Force Recruiting Service
I want to do something important with my life so I researched the Air Force. I came across this video and a couple more about security forces. I am very interested in joining them if there is an opening

U.S. Air Force Recruiting thank you very much for replying. I will start my process once I loss some more weight. I want to be an airmen. Thanks again.
I was dead set on telling my recruiter when I go meet with her that I wanted a medical or administrative job but looking at this video? I wanna do Security Forces or Special Investigations 😭 I’ve always wanted to do something like like law enforcement but never had the courage to do it but now I do.
Security Specialist, '81-'87. Cold War vet. Standing watch, hoping the F-111 I'm posted on never gets scrambled. Guarding a dummy loaded F-111 in the QRA in England on the last day of an alert when they klaxon all the birds and that bird taxis out of that hangar under it's own power. The chill that goes up your spine is frightening. We won the Cold War because the real birds didn't have to fly. Our enemy collapsed of themselves while we stood strong.
This a very effective video to inspire men and women to want to sign-up. Makes me wish I had made a career in the USAF Security Police. It would have been much more rewarding than I found civilian police work. I thought I could make a difference in the real world, but found that disappointing. Not near as professional as the military or organized. Loved my time serving from 1972 to 1976 Lackland and Spangdahlem. Now Security Forces seems like a real force to be reckoned with. At least my nephew continues in my footsteps today making it a career.
@@thomasryan2679 Are you trying to be insulting or what? Sounds like you have an issue with something. Yes I was a "real" cop if you think only civilian cops are real. I worked for two civilian police depts for a little over 6-years during which time I was certified by the State as a Peace Officer in order to work as an officer. Prior to entering the USAF I obtain a AAS Degree in Law Enforcement as well. As you will note I was in the USAF back in 1972, so I no longer work as an LEO.
Anyone joining, seriously contemplate not doing this job. If you do, please do a 4 year enlistment, cause if you hate it and do 6, that’s 2 extra years
I wanted to do this in the Air Force but it seems they need me to leave December to be an electrician. Regardless, I am excited and proud to soon be an American Airman!
Switch your classes to classes with mathematics geared towards engineering. Graduate college with an engineering degree. Then join the Airforce as an engineer. You'll have a much better experience. People with "criminal justice" degrees are a dime a dozen. You won't stand out...
I was given a choice of cook or cop in 1968 and took cop. Went to police school and taught to call a firearm a weapon, instead of a GUN. Finished and was sent to Tuscon to guard nuke loaded missiles and one night a SR 71. Transferred me to communications where I kept a police blotter and dispatched patrols. Orders for Vietnam and went to pre combat school in Texas then Vietnam. In Vietnam I was the only one sent to ranger school in phan rang vietnam then back to saigon and a rocket attack, then nothing for the rest of the year. They transferred me to law enforcement and desk sergeant where I was awarded an Air Force Commendation Medal for my contributions to the effort in Vietnam. Came back and was discharged early for having PTSD. "Not fit for worldwide duty". Never heard of safeside till recently, no berets, no titles, even though I graduated from Ranger school in Vietnam and was honor graduate from pre combat school and made SSgt in 3 years. How could I not know who these people are?

Giving cheesy tickets to fellow airmen doesn't interest me. It's akin to the school snitch.
I want to do something important with my life so I researched the Air Force. I came across this video and a couple more about security forces. I am very interested in joining them if there is an opening

Air Force Recruiting
U.S. Air Force Recruiting thank you very much for replying. I will start my process once I loss some more weight. I want to be an airmen. Thanks again.
This is a perfect military recruitment ad
I was dead set on telling my recruiter when I go meet with her that I wanted a medical or administrative job but looking at this video? I wanna do Security Forces or Special Investigations 😭 I’ve always wanted to do something like like law enforcement but never had the courage to do it but now I do.
First day at tech school, and this video gets me so hyped!!
“You’re welcome”
Jesus that’s powerful
Very powerful and inspiring
God Bless you all and stay safe!
Thank you
Currently considering enlisting, I am torn between Army and Air Force. Not gonna lie this video was pretty badass!!
Where’d you wind up, Tim?
@@I_Came_With_Fire_Podcast Air Force SF, happy with my decision for sure. Just put on SrA a few weeks ago, damn where has the time gone! Haha
video well put together good job
Ssgt Fenner 😂 he literally came into the classroom and asked this guy if he liked his haircut while learning the m4
Helane Ruslan 😂😂 I remember him from CATM
Sgt Fenner is Awesome
Helane Ruslan I have SSgt Fenner and Perry though he's no longer in uniform lol that's crazy
SUCH A GOOD VIDEO
Security Specialist, '81-'87. Cold War vet. Standing watch, hoping the F-111 I'm posted on never gets scrambled. Guarding a dummy loaded F-111 in the QRA in England on the last day of an alert when they klaxon all the birds and that bird taxis out of that hangar under it's own power. The chill that goes up your spine is frightening. We won the Cold War because the real birds didn't have to fly. Our enemy collapsed of themselves while we stood strong.
My team and I got to be in this vid! Go Airman Villa! Hoo yah Team 019!!!
May God bless and protect you all, in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen
I going to join the Air Force after high school and do security forces
@FANBOY Lets' Plays yes
Some of the words sounded unnecessary but are still really good, XD
While stationed at Peterson AFB, a CMSgt came to speak to us and said the same thing.
If nothing happened, “You’re welcome”
I wanna join this when I’m older. Hopefully it’s still a thing
Hahaha. How old. I also wanna do the same
Join as medical
Im to young to join the military but thisis what i want to do #ProudAmerican
I’m thinking about joining the Air Force and I’m not sure what I want. This might be my choice idk!!
I'm almost done with SF tech school, I love it
This a very effective video to inspire men and women to want to sign-up.
Are you a jail guard calling yourself law enforcement? Or a cigarette tax enforcer? You're not a real cop.
God Damn!!! Where the fuck was this video when I was SF and my morale needed a lift. Seriously want to go back in now.
Anyone joining, seriously contemplate not doing this job. If you do, please do a 4 year enlistment, cause if you hate it and do 6, that’s 2 extra years
SSgt Fernandez was my MTI in BMT and Sergeant Bridger was my cadre at Camp Bullis huaaaaaa
Some of those airman are from the 820th! The unit i was in. Clips from us being in Afghanistan Reaper team.
"The REAL G00D Guys"
I'm in SAT week right now officially start tech school on the 27th
If you're going to the SF schoolhouse, enjoy the tour of the SF Museum.
Why does this specialty code get shit on
Edit: significantly more than other branches MPs it seems
Try being a six foxtrot brother lol
Because they are pretty much more of a security guard than a cop
They don't get any respect until they draw their service weapons.
I wanna enlist next year..!
Aim High
DON'T DO SF
Galen Merrick why?
I wanted to do this in the Air Force but it seems they need me to leave December to be an electrician. Regardless, I am excited and proud to soon be an American Airman!
Im taking criminal justice in high school then joing the afrotc program to become a security force officer... any advise?
Switch your classes to classes with mathematics geared towards engineering. Graduate college with an engineering degree. Then join the Airforce as an engineer. You'll have a much better experience. People with "criminal justice" degrees are a dime a dozen. You won't stand out...
Show this to everyone who calls the air force 'chair force'
It’s one of the very few careers that are close to the mother branch, army.
I want to be in either the security force or in maintenance
Eduardo Morales neither
Eduardo Morales if either go for SF
Both great rewarding jobs
go comm, thank me later
Someone should have told that airman not to button his top button on his abu
This is so cool.
I was like you once. So young and full of hope😂😅
salvador Legarski 😂😂😂😂
And on those quiet days when nothing happens ……………… Your welcome! POWERFUL
USAF SECURITY POLICE: 322 Missile Security Squadron Grand Forks AFB ND 1983-1985; 39 Security Police Flight Incirlik AB Turkey 1985-1987; 321 Security Police Squadron Grand Forks AFB ND 1987-1989; 50 Security Police Squadron Hahn AB Germany 1989-1992; 92 Security Police Squadron Fairchild AFB WA March 1992-May 1992. SEMPER VIGILANTIS...DEFENSOR FORTIS!
wasn't confident about bein' booked in this job, but now I feel a little better.
Just wait till you start checking ID's, saluting officers and dealing with drunks at the base gate for 12 hours...
Well i mean, I wouldn't want to deal with an active shooter on base every day. What do you even expect
your mom is the game and i'm already playin' it lmfao well spoken 👌🏼
1986 - 1990 USAF SP, although, I finished and retired from the US Army, I am thankful for my time as a Cop!
I loved this video well done 42nd CDS Loring ( 62 - 66)
Some of the best at what they do. But it would be so nice to see airmen who can render a proper salute and correctly wear the beret.
Wait until you notice the airman with the top button buttoned on his abu
Not gonna lie this isnt that bad. Though it still glorifies it and doesn't show you the true day-to-day of the job it is a good video.
