- We have this escort RS1600i in from Jason at JW Autoshine for our under floor treatment! This then soon grew to engine bay and inside refurb!

That is still a really good body...all together and polished up would look mint hiding the imperfections. But with the level of work you guys are doing it will be better than when it left the factory

Great work and show how easy these car were put together and like dash, doors, and wiring loom. I remember Jamie saying how solid the battery tray area is just shows how many repairs this shell has had over the years. Look forward to seeing more. As Jamie will make this car mint. Like his old RS Turbo series 1. You do amazing work and not cutting corners.

Just found your channel and subscribed. Really interesting stuff. I had a few MK3 Escorts, 1.3L brand new in 1981, XR3i new 1983, XR3i new 1985, Series 1 RS Turbo s/h 1988. I think you could say I was an Escort fan!
Yes bobfrankish8883 bloody love it! We do love a Ford at MJG, if you cast your eye over the videos and even the workshop tours you will see our Ford love. We have a mk1 escort restoration on the go first vid dropping Tuesday next week if expect! That’s also one to watch

The Escort RS1600i developed by Ford Motorsport, was introduced in September 1981, with production ceasing in July 1983. Ford planned to build only 5000 of these Iconic cars for homologation requirements, but it sold so well that 8659 cars were made, of which only 2600 sold in the UK.
Around 530 Ford Escort RS1600i cars were finished in Diamond White and had black stripes on the bonnet and flanks.
As for the number il get the owner to look into this although it maybe like the st500’s they all contain plates saying 1/500. 1 of not no1 of.
