15:25 Ahh classic magic smoke
You have a good eye!
@@ELECTRONOOBS I also watched that in a single frame
i just had to look back when i saw your comment.. NICE!
hahahaahahahahaah came to the comments just because of that!
I saw that and thought "did I just see magic smoke?" and watched it again a couple of times and died laughing! I dropped down here to make a comment and sadly you beat me to it by a year. LOL!
Out of all of the videos I've seen on this supply you've done well explaining how everything should work, especially the app!
Nice Job! Keep up the good job bro! Keep safe, we're praying for you and whole Spain 🇪🇸. From Philippines
Thank you very much!!!
The Ground/Earth should be bonded directly to the Case with a Shake proof star washer and to the supply ground . Do not rely on the screws on the supply brick to ground the case as they are going through a painted surface .
The best. Short and full of informations I needed. Thanks.
You and Greatscott! talk almost the same way to my hear. I mistake you guys sometimes. I love you guys so much. you guys are doing a great job. I've learnt so much from you guys
I think they are of the same nationality
This power supply has some really crazy features !!
It's a nice product. phone and computer application is also very useful.
This is my favorite channel keepup bro and hope Spain will come from this worse satuation soon we pray and take care your self
Wow :O Probably I'll be getting one of those in near future. By the way great video bro!
Great video!! If you set you S-400 to a voltage above 61v, you power supply will be capable of the max 60v👍👍👍
Nooo está buenísima, quiero una! Excelente review!
Great and thorough tutorial!
Amazing video as always
I saw EEV blog do a video on this, and he was pleasently surprised.
THAT IS TRICK. Thank you. Spain is in my prayers.
Could you explain the output load of 15 ohms? The load that I see is 2 groups of 5 ohm resistors in parallel. (15 ohms /3) *2=10 ohms
I feel like a BLE module might also work, and it would be interesting to see this connected via serial too
Great video!! I am already decided to buy the power supply...
Take your like good man, your video helped me meet and set up my Rd6006
Love your explanation sir
Nice video awesome power supply
17:00 The drop in efficiency is at 4 amps, not at 5 amps. They are selling a set here with a 70V power supply, I guess the efficiency would be 1-2% lower than the 48V curve.
Hello. What's your opinion about the Miniware power supply vvls RIDEN. Thank you
¿Por qué no has hecho la review en español? ya existen muchas en inglés sobre este equipo.
what version of windows are you using to connect to the computer.
Thank you!
I bought one too. But I am not happy to see it’s only disconnect one wire with the main switch.
I will replace this switch with a 4 wire switch. Here in Germany you can have live and neutral switched.
Is it possible to access the power supply from an internet browser if connected to wifi?
Great tutorial! What is the latest firmware version?
The relay is connected between the positive output post and the battery post.
Does this have reverse polarity protection?
Thanx dude great video
Nice video, you remind me a lot of the German youtuber great Scott
Very good video
this whould have been awesome to use for a server power supply to power RC hobby battery chargers except for its very low amp rating. too bad. I need something capable of 70A or more to keep up with my Icharger 308duo and HP HSTNS-P11 power supply.
It looks interesting!
hello, I see that in your video description, it is Banggood link, they are not going to sell the RD series power supplies any more after clear their warehouse stock,if you like, you can use our RD aliexpress official store
Can we add csv file for voltage and get custom voltage graph at the output
I have the rd6006p since today and I hear a faint high pitch sound when I turn on the voltage output. The sound becomes less when I increase the output voltage and from 35 volts the sound is gone. Do others have this too? Or is this a defect?
Hi sir,
Please can you suggest me about RIDEN RD6012.
Is it suitable for mobile servicing shop ?
can i use it for sort killer for mobile motherboard ?
please write me details .
I will be helpful .
with best regards ,
khan.
At 2:58 are you sure that you labelled correct dimensions 😛 I mean it should be 40mm in height and 50mm in width !!😜 Even the best of us can make mistakes 😂. I love your videos and watch everything very carefully.🥰👍👍
LOL. You're right, I think those are backwards!
Android app not available.
Could not find on play store.
iOS version works, but can not control device with iPad.
I have one. It's perfect.
The psu seemed like it's weak point, also it racked up the price quite a bit, so I used a good quality scavenged atx psu instead, with a $7 65v 400w boost converter, drilled a few extra holes in the casing, and I gotta say it works great, there's no significant ripple even when running at full power, and it's pretty much on point..
It's nothing like the real deal or nowhere near any linear supply, but for the price it's truly great
What is the purpose of the power controller and supply
Can you please link the tutorial for the mini power supply you showed at the 12 seconds? I am very interested in putting one together. Great video review 👍🏽
have you got it?
@@gratusrichard1644 na didn’t bother, went with some generic brand off Amazon instead
@@64hapz oh ok. Thanks for the reply bro
excellent
So, it doesn't have dual polarity supply? Right?
thank you for your review, if you have any questions, just contact us
I have a question, where is the PC Software gone? 🤷🏼♂️ Its missing in the Google Drive link that is provided in all instruction videos.
@@Utube2Itube do you click the wrong file link, you can try this three link to download the PC software:

How copy program in stm32f1 in this product
Can we use ESP-01 for connect this power supply to wifi?
The supplied wireless module is evidently based on an ESP-8266.
I have two notes. You can download the app for IOS as well (I have it). I like RD6006w. The only disadvantage is to be switching power supply not a linear one. For less than 200$ you can have high-quality linear lab supply (not soo powerful, but usually you will be fine with 20v 2-5A). I do not get why they put thermocouple inside when it is for outside use?!
Depends, for amp design I need 50V at 5A, that's useful.
What you can this product with arduino
Where can I find the pc software ???
Got mine for 40USD on banggood. when they sell it low like that, does that mean we can expect a new model soon? I want one with 80-100V so I can use it for ebike and scooter charging. I did see in the changelog from the android app that support for "RD6012" was added. A 120V model maybe?
Damn, it's only a 12A version
I suggest that you look for a different kind of supply for higher voltages, rather than a lab/bench PSU. A purpose-built battery charging unit would likely be much more economical.
i am taking server error when ı try to set wifi. Can you help me please
The case has the wrong link it sends me to the Power sUpply unit.
is there countries with 220v? it's long time since 220 became 230v but china still uses 220v on labels
After entering the MENU, to go BACK or ESCAPE, press the Potentiometer Knob! I thought it would be good to mention here since it wasn't mentioned in the video, and I had to read the manual to find out how to get out :-P
Tip: get a SMPS @ 55-60v so you get less power loss and hence heating which will shorten its lifespan.
they really are a nice PSU for the Price!! I really thought i would have seen you do a review on this earlier.. its been out a good while now!! i dont remember anyone pointing out that it needs connects a router 1st before your phone(kinda obvious but something ya would over look) but its been a long time since iv seen a review on this one!! it really is worth the money but maybe a bit to complicated for my needs.. Now Why do you have a banana in your shot always??
Why complicated? banana 4 scale as always :)
@@ELECTRONOOBS maybe complicated was a bit harsh! but as a first PSU it wouldn't my choice!! it would(or might even be) be something i would build up to as i gain more knowledge. like a little gift to myself.. i think i might have asked about the banana before!!
Did anybody see the cable burn at 15:26 ?
I came to the comments to ask this. Is it maybe solder smoke from the resistors?
What Happen on 15:28... burn Up something 😂😂😂
Has anyone gotten this to work with the IOS App?
Pff working on my own 24V 20A supply as we speak ;)
What was the smoke @ 15:25 ?? 🤔
Edit: I should read comments before commenting myself! Sorry!
I´ve ordered this psu from a seller on E-Bay 2 times, but I´ve never received it to this day... I got my money back, allright, but I just wanted that goddam´n powersupply... One of these days... ;)
hmm, maybe because of the virus thay have delays...
@@ELECTRONOOBS No, it was´nt cause of the virus. ...It was very strange. It was returned to the seller, he sent it again, and it came back. I got my money back, så I chose another seller. ...With the same result!!! ...So i put it on ice for a while... But I REALLY would like that PSU. :) ...Sometime in the future. ;)
@@Mumme666 is it a customs issue in your country? Perhaps PSUs lacking certain certifications are not allowed to be imported.
translate this video for Electronoobs Spain please, congratulations
2nd banggood link is copy of first link, needs to be updated to point at case kit instead of front panel controller.
Thanks. Just updated the link!
Hm, no earth for the metal housing?
Yes there is. The supply has earth and is screwed in palce on the metal case, so they share earth.
@@ELECTRONOOBS Oh, yes, that should have been obvious. Thank you.
The thing that I dislike is that I want to buy a PSU like this, but for it to run you need another PSU that supplies 60V to it first. Why can't I connect it directly to a normal 230V wall plug? Its kinda an awkard product, if you want to start out and don't have a PSU already.
08:26 Front Panel Upside down ;)
True, I've later fliped it!
Please make use of Arduino, add CC & CV features
Why do you have a banana always lying around on your workbench. By the way, I am really impressed by the quality of your videos and the depth you go into. You are 200times better then greatscot. Really bro, you are the inspiration for me to do engineering in electronics.
Thank you very much for all this good feedback :)
Its for size comparision
@@gamingSlasher Thanks for giving a reply after 3 years 🤣😂
@@fireracerworkshop8251 Suddenly it happens.
15:24 I have seen smoke? lol
Pity that it doesn't have a virtual ground for negative voltage
Why is it that you need to connect the USB to use it with the PC? Why can you not just use WIFI?
I heard, in another review, that the WIFI feature does not work for the PC and that makes ZERO sense to me. Does anyone know a logical reason for this?
Presumably this is a software implementation issue (i.e., the PC software is not mature). I would look to open-source alternatives for controlling this PSU. It's a popular series of PSUs so there is likely to be more development on the open source side than from the vendor as time goes on. Here's a github repo to check out for starters: github.com/rfinnie/rdserialtool
15:27...I saw magic smoke
I don’t understand this video. Why didn’t they connect together the actual PSU and controller together? Why sell it in pieces?
In case that you already have a supply home, why buy another one? In this way the controller will be cheaper!
@@ELECTRONOOBS Ah that makes sense. I appreciate the response!
Guys did u notice the smoke at 15.26
That was the resistor bank heating up / LOAD
Three 15 ohm resistors in parallel is 5 ohms. Two of them in series is 10 ohms. You were calling it 15 ohms.
Aren't the parts a bit expensive? it's almost a $80 PSU.
15:25 I saw smoke
😊👍👍👍
What is the secret behind that banana
scale
hmmm...Keysight is giving out oscilloscopes...
I want it 🙄

Hello friend. I am worried by Spain CoVID 19 status. Please be careful and stay indoor and don't open any parcel without heat treating. Exposing to heat gun can kill all viruses.
That shit doesn't travel by mail bud it doesn't survive on surfaces for long.....
is true. situation is quite bad. I haven't left home for weeks now...
Goofed up at 8.26 ......... inserted the panel the wrong way...... "upside down"
35 euros for the case!!!
Don't you think its a bit too much?
i don't think so. is a full kit.
Very few people are watching...
WiFi card is useless without an actual app or program that’s actually working without the virus warning. The app they have online doesn’t work well at all. The program for PCs has been taken down on all mirror sites.
If you are spending almost 100$ then why don't you buy a supply from a reputable brand? You will have better resell value and wont kill your projects or burn your house down.
For comparison's sake, which "reputable brand" has comparable specifications and features for less than $100 USD? There are lots of bench PSUs for less, but I don't know how many of them are from "reputable" brands with any resale value to speak of. I'd be glad to buy a brand name PSU to match (for example) my oscilloscope, but there's no way it's coming in at that price point.
It sounds like you record your audio in a bathroom
