    Ignore my comment on your other video.. I mentioned I like the ride of the peg 35 but they were a little uncomfortable for me, and you answered that exact question here...try the Vomero next! I love your videos, always my go-to for anything running related... you always seem to have a video about everything! Keep up the outstanding work

      Beacon hands down. Versatile, bouncy ride. Light. Got Vomero for long runs but prefer Beacon even then. Beacon doesn't win Turbo though but Turbo doesn't have traction on packed snow.

      I'm a bit late to this comment but I love the vomero and have done many fast runs in it already. I believe the durability of the Vomero is better than the beacon due to a thicker upper and more rubber on the outsole, so for me at least I'd pick the vomero.

    Thanks for this. Was curious to hear your thoughts. I had such high expectations for Vomero after Epic but they are not fully met. Although better than previous, it's still a heavy and tiring shoe. Notice myself gravitating towards Beacon even for long runs when it's snowy. Considering NB 1080 v9 as alternative to Vomero. Tried them in store and they felt livelier and softer.

    My first pair I had to send back because the right shoe had an issue where the Zoom Air was either deflated or not functioning correctly (felt like a brick!). Got a 2nd pair and they feel really solid, like alternating them with the Turbos. I thought I wouldn't like this shoe because the forefoot cushion looks so thin, but I've used mine up to 14 mile runs without any discomfort in the forefoot. The combination of Zoom and even that thin amount of React seems to be ok for me as a midfoot striker. Great trainer, especially at its pricepoint!

    Hello, Kofuzi, I bought the Vomero 14 today and ran in it for a very short distance. I have a slight injury on my right heel after I had run on a mud trail a few months back and this shoe, since it has extra padding on the heel of the shoe, I felt some discomfort by the pressing of the heel cushion on the injured area. In that way, I found the shoes a little uncomfortable.
    I tried on Asics GT 2000 v8 a few days back at the shop. It felt comfortable. Should I get that since it does not have such heel padding?

    I really like the Pegasus 36 for shorter faster workouts on a track and some tempos. I also have the flyknit zoom fly and like those for longer workouts and maybe some longer races. I have had previously just had an epic react but I’m look for a new daily trainer and am looking at Nike shoes and was wondering what shoe I should pick? I tend to pronate and still run in neutral shoes I do have insert and tend to like a more snappy responsive ride with some ground feel.

    does the vomero feel stiff in the cold? i personally don’t wear the peg 35 outdoors in the cold because of how stiff the cushioning can feel in the cold (zoom bag feels stiffer, and i think cushlon is EVA which stiffens up in the cold). i’m pretty sure react isn’t EVA, but maybe the zoom bag feels stiffer in the cold? just wanted to hear your experience in the shoe

    When wearing the Vomero 14 it looks like I have an anchor on my feet. It gives me a very weird running sensation, somehow changes my running dynamics, it's fatiguing even in easy runs. The react midsole provides a better running experience, light, responsive but still offering enough cushioning (up to 10 mile runs).

    • @kofuzi

      @@kofuzi unfortunately this shoe does not work for me. It feels really heavy and fatiguing. I strike with midfoot not with the heel. The odyssey react feels very comfortable if you forgive the narrower toebox. I guess I'll be using the Vomero 14 in a workout to endure against carrying something heavy on my feet. 😂

    @kofuzi I have quite a few shoes that I rotate these days, Turbo, Rincon, Adios 3+4, Ride 7, Kiga 5. I really wanna give the Vomero 14 a try seeing that they are heavily discounted by now but cannot really see where they would fit. For easy days I rotate Turbos, Rincon, and Ride 7. Longer speed work is done in Rincon (Turbo's forefoot is too plush for speed imo), and interval stuff I use the Adios for. I read lots about the Vomero 14's firm forefoot that works against slow and easy pace, which is a bit off-putting.

    The Epic Reacts still work better for me as a daily shoe. The Vomero is a bit heavy and clunky for my taste. It is kinda functioning as my winter snow/mixed surfaces shoe though. I feel like the heel is very heavy and built up and the forefoot is somewhat thin. This is definitely a heel strike shoe. I am surprised by how tired I feel in this shoe in comparison to the Epic React though, where the miles feel pretty smooth and effortless. I've had and worn out 4 pairs of Vomeros before (11*2, 12 & 13) and loved them for recovery runs and slow long runs, so I wanted to love the 14s, even more so as most reviewers were thrilled about them. But as gorgeous as they are (probably the prettiest pair of sneakers I've ever purchased), I found them horrible to run in. The midsole is too thin at the forefront for a midfoot striker like me, the rubber is too hard and outright incomfortable, and the upper is just dreadful : the tongue is too short and presses heavily against the front of top of the foot, and the side is cut so low against the ankle that it makes the whole shoe very unstable. After 500 meters, I knew I had made a mistake, but at first I thought it couldn't be that bad, and that with a little breaking-in (that most Vomeros require), it would be better. It didn't. I managed to sprain an ankle after barely 20kms in them :-( Horrible horrible shoes... Hi you all from Greece. Having watched every major review of this shoe, I decided to give it a go. So far, after 49 km in them, I'm disappointed. Coming from the Kinvara 9 (and 6 before them), I'm having some major issues. Firstly, the air pocket. It's sth that you definately feel, as if it pushes the ball of your foot upwards. And that causes the so called hot feet, every single time I run. After km No.6 it's there to bug you. Again and again (and again..). No matter how I land my foot, it gets worse, taking all the fun out of my runs. And then it's the lacing. For those who'll buy it, try not to tighten them. My right upper foot still hurts, but being fair after I spent some 10 mins to readjust the lacing, I think I've got it. Oh, the tongue is short and not that cushy. I can't use the 7th holes for the laces, because then I get another ache at the contact point with my feet. But at the end of the day, why do I have to get this annoying hot foot feeling? Yesterday I did a 15km run, to see if it is a matter of breaking in of the shoe. But it isn't. And if it is, why should it be there, when both my Kinvaras where a case of wear-and-forget shoe? Honestly, I waited so much to get the Vomeros, and I'm seriously thinking of keeping them only as a sneaker pair, spending extra and unplanned euros for a decent pair to do my runs. FYI, I'm 1,79cm (think that's 5 ft 11,5 in or so), 75kg (around 160 pounds?), with a quite narrow foot, so I dont think my biomechanics get in the way - at least they didn't with any other shoe I had (surely far less that Kofuzi tries). What I wanna say is, try to feel the shoe when you try it on, and see how it fits to your shoe. Hope you won't get my issues. Only good thing I must say, is that they are fast compared to the characterless Kinvaras (didn't feel that until I saw my watch).

    • @kofuzi
      @kofuzi  6 років тому

      the kinvara is a very different shoe. i think saucony likes to sneak in some stability in even their neutral shoes. i generally find that people that love the kinvara tend to have love/hate relationships with nike shoes. certain ones they love. and certain ones they just can't stand,

      I also get the sensation of hot feet from Vomero 14. I’m a Nike guy but having difficulty with this pair. Also, agree on not to lace up too tight. I tend to lace tight on all my shoes but with Vomero, I really have to be careful . Feel that it facilitates the burning sensation on the bottom of my feet. I do like the way it fits on my feet and how light it feels vs. prior versions. But i miss the forefoot cushion of vomero 12 on the vomero 14. Hope that I will warm up to the shoes after more miles. I was really looking forward to this pair for long runs and on road for cushion. But the new version feels more like pegasus than prior version vomeros as for plushness and cushion.

Sb below (I think) wrote that this is more of a heel-landing shoe (due to the much plusher feel back). Well, I tried it on my yesterday's run and I can tell you that it worked, the burn was almost gone (barely noticeable), perhaps you should try it for yourself and see. I think that time is needed with this shoe to get used to it and let it work for you, rather than against you. Will try to ramp up the miles gradually to give my feet the time they need to adopt.
