Dr. Pillai: I am going to read something for you. This is about mantras. ”Very well, I shall describe to you the supreme character of the Mantras, their key letters and the way to use them."
"This is however, a secret. It is by Mantra that God is drawn to you. It’s by Mantra that he is released. By secretive terms, these are Mantras. And therefore they are not to be published. Their form is not to be written. And their features not to be described.” Parad Samhita, 6.2
Now, you can contact Gods only through the Mantras. That’s basically what the Samhita says. And they are never to be published.
The most important thing is you are given a Mantra.
The Guru Empowers Mantras:
Often it has to be a Guru that has given the Mantra to you. That’s the tradition. Not that the Mantra won’t work without a Guru. It will work without a Guru maybe 20 to 30%, or maximum 50%, not even that. But then they have to be given by a Guru. That would add like another 25% - so 75%. The rest of the 25% - you have to figure it out.
The Secret Behind The Mantra:
That’s the secret. Because only by repeated use of the Mantra, you will know the secret behind it. You’ll be able to contact the God. And the God himself will take care of the rest. And that is the secret.
The Role of The Guru:
First you have to get it from a Guru. And if you don’t get it from a Guru, as I said, it will still work. There are not many Gurus around who have attained mastery like the Vedic Masters. So it’s okay to get it from any source.

How Does The Mantra Work?
You should know how it works. What time does it work? Whether if it works for you, because there are Mantras that are not suitable to you. That has to be figured out. There are certain common mantras that can be used.
Most Powerful Mantra, NAMASHIVAYA:
Now, there is a Mantra for instance, NAMA SIVAYA. And this is the, the most powerful Mantra that I personally have ever known. And the scriptures say that. If you ask me if I know the full range of meanings and the use and power behind it, “No.”
What I know is about a minuscule. And even with that minuscule, you know, you can do a lot. Because you have to work on the [Mantra] syllable by syllable, and ask questions.
Sylllables Of Mantra:
For instance, NAMA SIVAYA: the sound NA represents the Earth. MA - the Water, and SI - the Fire. And VA - the Air. And YA - the Ether or Akash.
How Do Sounds Correspond To Elements?
How did they come up with the correlation between the Sound and the Elements? You have to meditate upon it. And how are they related to these sounds?
5 Elements And The Body/Mind:
These Elements are related to the Human Microcosm that’s the Body/Mind. For instance, NA represents within the Body up into the Feet and up into say the Hip. And MA right above that, particularly the Navel area. and SI - the Heart. And VA - the Throat and the Mouth. And YA - the Brain.
And what’s the relationship between the Element, the Sound, the Bodily parts? And then when you meditate on them, you’ll be revealed a lot.
And in order to do, you should meditate on it. You should have some understanding of the scriptures as well. That will help you to open up.
And when all of these things are put together and finally with the Grace of Siva, himself, who will reveal to you, then you will figure it out.
The Mantra Will Be Powerful:
Then the Mantra will be powerful. And you will realize that. And I will explain this to you during the Guru Purnima Program.
