Thanks a lot! I find it helpful to come up with drills for the new techniques, and work those into my habits. I try to make them "things I normally do" before attempting the pattern.

@@__revbox know u get this probably quite a bit. Flown delta kites alot. Which one as a noob would u buy. Live in Wester North Carolina. Wind is really unpredictable. 2 mile an hour one minute......15 mph the next. Any advice would be appreciated.

@@Dtag1971 Of course. I started out with delta kites back when I was a kid, and remember how it was. I'd recommend one of the XX Reflex models, either the XX or XX Tarantula to start with. These kites are very stable, and you can rely on their predictable behaviour.
      - The XX will be easier to fly in 2 mph winds, but becomes a bit unruly when the frame deforms in 15+ mph winds.
      - The XX Tarantula will be a little harder to fly in 2 mph winds, but it handles stronger winds *much* better. The vented models (the XX Tarantula and XX Super Tarantula) are more responsive, and the reverse flight performance is *significantly* better.
      - The XX Super Tarantula will be hard to fly in 2 mph winds when you're starting out (it's totally doable, however), but it is an absolute boss in higher winds.
Venting: the XX Tarantula's middle section is vented, removing the drag you get when that section billows in the wind. This stops the frame from deforming so much in higher winds, or when you reverse. However, the outer sections of the wing are not vented, this causes the leading edge to bow in very strong winds. The XX Super Tarantula has both the middle and outer sections vented, and the frame deforms far less as a result.
Performance: when you reverse a non-vented model, you can only accelerate so much before the wings flip under. With the vented models, the air passes through the wings, and the "flip under" effect decreases as the venting increases. So the non-vented XX has the most "flip under", and the XX Super Tarantula has the least.
The wind conditions where I live are similar to yours, it's all over the place. I went with the XX Reflex (non-vented) as my first kite when I got back into flying Revolutions a year ago, and to be honest, I never fly it. If I had known what I know now, I'd have chosen the XX Tarantula to start with because it sits right in the middle of what these kites have to offer.

Phenomenal kite flow Box! Deliberate and steady and smooth. A master class. Great point about overspins on the Spiders too…you kinda have to mentally program yourself split seconds ahead of time versus the full sails. Inspiring flight brother!

Thank you very much Holy Cannoli, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Of the original Revolutions, I always preferred the Rev 2 for its snappier movement. The RX Spiders give me this, and they're so much better in reverse flight.

Spectacular video revbox! As you get comfortable with the Reflex skills, your Rev fun will explode, especially in light-wind conditions! Here is another short video on Reflex skils: ua-cam.com/video/L5oZi7aUHvU/v-deo.html

Thanks a million, Joe! I'm having a great time with Club 38. I used to get bored with the way I fly, but now, every flying session is presenting new things for me to learn and explore. I will check out the light-wind flying tips, and I also watched the Blast instructional video earlier. I cannot wait to fly that kite, it looks stunning!

Anyone can do maneuvers fast, it takes skill to do them slow.
