every time I watch this clip, I cry. literally. any Ukrainian will understand me
I can't hold back my tears either. My grandmother, who miraculously survived the Holodomor, told me in passing about everything she had to go through. In those days it was impossible to talk about it aloud.
I do. Я плачу з Ними.
Вітання ✋
... Це біль ... І сльози ....
The song refers to Holodomor (Genocide of the Ukrainian people carried out by the Soviet government in 1932-1933, ~ 3.5 million people died) and overall to times when Ukraine was occupied by USSR. The woman here represents Ukraine, while singers represent our culture and spirit of the nation.
As a child, I often saw crosses right on my plots. When I grew up I began to understand what the crosses were and why not in the cemetery. People buried their relatives where and how they could...
@@Overbet Just the same.
Many more died. about 10 million. Some villages are almost extinct. And this is only an artificial famine of 32-33 years. And there were 21-22 and 46.
about 7 millions
You got it, but not a loss of a loved one, but a loss off 10 mil loved ones
Thank you very much for your reaction!
Вітання ✋. KARNA - " добрий вечір" ...👍👍👍👍
When you think the metal genre has been explored 100% and there's nothing new to create we keep being proven wrong and how many paths in the rabbit hole of metal genres we still haven't explored/reached. This band (calling it Mystic Metal) is mixing heavy doomy progressive metal with Ukrainian ethnic soundscapes and lyrical themes. I looked up the bands name and Motanka is the name for a homemade doll with mystical/magical properties:
"The motanka doll is one of the most ancient of Ukrainian, handmade household items. Initially fashioned as a domestic symbol of fertility and procreation, these figurines played an important role in the everyday life of early Ukrainians."
" The doll itself has no seams. “An old belief states that one can sew up both good and evil thoughts. It’s one of the reasons the doll should never be touched with a needle,” she reveals."
This is the doll we see at the end of the clip. There should be no face in this doll. So as not to do anything bad to anyone in the magical sense.
1 word, holodomor, check what it is...thats mean this clip.
very cool video, song and lyrics, but very sad (((🇺🇦❤️

Just WATCH the MASTERPIECE video to get the idea instead of closing eyes. "Cool cultural things?" About genocide?? By the way, it's MOtanka.
