Yes, Kage, when you Insulate the homes they use less firewood. Also, you will notice you can Insulate the work buildings too. This is only for looks. A lot of people asked for the ability to make the other buildings insulated so they 'matched' the houses.
If you skin the animals I believe you also get a skull that you can mount to hang on a wall, it's a random drop. I know one drops from moose and bison. And I believe there are 5 total mines, 3 on the South side of the river and 2 on the North. Also, I think the mine regenerates, I'm not sure if it's with each new day or each new season, I'll have to test that in my game.

For any players struggling with the bears at the mine. You can stand on the top of the mountain and their tracking is terrible. Just chill and shoot arrows. Cheesy but breezy
Experiment: go make 2 sets of winter clothes, boots and coats and whatever. Put them in a chest in a home and see if the people that live there look different in winter, if they wear the clothes, and check their moods before and after you put the clothes in the chest. For science man!
You have a chance to get trophy out of the the deer, moose and wisent. There are 4 mines and there is also an achievement to build mine in all ov them.
Kage if you had to make them clothes you would be complaining about it because they'd all die during the first couple winters or they would get anything done
I did wait with hunting bear until i got timed person story quest (no spoilers) and illed it from unsafe place - I lost 80% of health before he run in to the mine If i remember correctly you need to wait 1 year for build mine to expand so you can get iron
Kage im having a problem the quest for my wife for fish soup got me doing a quest for Roland to kill a Buffalo they call it a visent but I have killed several of them and I haven't gotten a skull yet HELP PLEASE
Kage. You *bearly* survived that. - Insulating houses does affect mood & it also reduces the need for wood. - Mines refresh each season change.

Ya i dont like how the insulation looks for wood and stick buildings. Wish u could upgrade everything to stone.
Kage you need wool thread for the upgraded lanterns so get sheep! You need x4 per lantern
Random skulls from wisent, moose and deer, you will need them for future quests, and also you can use them for decoration
