This type of sound clash will be the trend of future sound clashes where DJs and Sound Systems will present their best to the table with positive energy all across the board. Thank you David Rodigan and King Jammy's.
Nice clash by 2 veterans no heapah noise like some a dem other fool fool clash.Yeah a so clash fi gwarn pure quality music no heapah bag a noise a people head.Oh my dem old Jammys revive tunes brings tears to my eyes pure good sweet memmories.
As a 53 year old white man who also has been heavily into the reggae scene for many years I have to admit that I am highly envious of RamJam with all the top artists playing on his dub plates, albeit he has given me many hours of musical pleasure over the years whether it via radio,DJ ing at Gossips Dene Street Soho back in the day or also the recent BBC Reggae fever documentary ! nuff nuff respect to you sir , long may you continue
This one's not been about killin the other soundbwoy - this was a respect thing clash :) There was no reason about killin the other "system" - much more of an honorable tribute clash :)

When the big big boys of sound and riddim come out to play... This is no little soundboy trying to play clash... This is elder triple og veterans and true masters at their finest... Putting on for the love of the music... Big up the titans
Radio Dj vs Reggae producer. Rodigan NEVER come on road in London no time during the 80's to clash with no Sound System nowhere in England. He spent his time flying to Jamaica to learn & play on Jammys sound but turned his nose up at Sound System culture HERE IN London. Still man who KNOW, KNOW & I don't wanna hear from nobody who DIDN'T play sound or clash sound in London in the 80's. Big Up TAURUS Sound from Brixton. Check Taurus Label, one of King Tubbys label with King Tubbys releases mixed by Peego & Fatman. Dem haffe kill Tubbys. If only some knew the link & what was unfolding. TAURUS would've kill Rodigan the same way TAURUS kill Jammys WITH King Tubbys Specials when they all came to London in 89 on V Rocket Sound @ Black Woman Centre over North London. Jammys was there that night too & watched Toops his selector get lock off. I turned that dance into a Blues Seesion.
When we first heard David Rodigan, on Capital radio, he rocked our world!. We used to tune in and get down in my tiny bedroom at my mum's flat. I had no idea that RODDI, would still be rockin' all these years later! He dances like a young boy! Respect to you and King Jammy, and long may you continue spinning dem dub plates! x
I was expecting more from the historical catalogue and calibre of King Jammys. Where are the half pints, Michael Palmer, Junior Reid etc.... Really disappointed !!!!
When two sevens clash, yuh done know it's a master class. Reminiscent of dances decades ago , and now days a big people dance. Mind the wall paper. Lol.
Has Sasco officially made this tune or is it just a one off Rodigan dub ? can't seem to find a Sasco track on the Shank I sheck rhythm , killer dubplate though ! oh it's Mix UP by Sasco just on the Shank I sheck riddim ! well some lyrics are the same anyway
WHEN ME GO EUROPEAN FESTIVAL AND LISTEN REGGAE MUSIC IS THE HARD CORE REGGAE MAKE WE MOVE WE BODY. THE MOST HARD CORE DUB PLATE IS SHABBA RANKS, BUJU BANTAN, SUPER CAT AND NINJA MAN. ANY TIME THEM MEN MUSIC TOUCH TURN TABLE PEOPLE MOVE. THE MUSIC THAT THEM A CALL REGGAE NEED TO GO BACK OLD SCHOOL. IF I WAS ARTIST LIKE TOMMY LEE AND ALKALINE A JAMMYS STUDIO ME A GO FE GET THE REAL GROOVE AND TAKE THE WORLD BY STORM. THEM YOUNG ARTIST GOT VIBES BUT THEM NOT THINKING MOST A THEM A THINK LIKE VYBZ KARTEL TOO MUCH AND END UP TOO SELFISH.
With the weight King Jammy has in Reggae music, is it possible to kill his sound using his own recordings? The depth of the Jammy's sound box is intimidating. King Jammy has music that is holding reggae steady to this day. Roddy and the majority of sounds play music but haven't created anything substantial. I call the man untouchable.
its it me....or was that a wierd soundclash? i dont see a who could have won that.. how can Rodigan kill Jammy if he uses the riddims that Jammy produces just didnt make sense to me...or am i missing something?
Think u are missing something , what is wrong with that , playing Jammy's productins against Jammy's in a 'clash' . That's just thr trick Rodigan used .He's very smart , knows a lot about this music !
it was a "friendly clash". they made sure from the start that its about the music not the clash thing... There wasnt a vote after each round or in the dub fi dub and there also wasnt a real vote at the end... The host said something in the line of "who thinks its a tie and both of them are just wicked foundation selectors who rock every dance put both hands up and make some noise..."
Remember his son Jamie Rodigan is a DJ. At least he can carrying it on with the surname? With modern day technology he can edit tunes so it only mentions their surname?
It's so much better to listen to these guys than the younger selectors who think they have kill us with all the suckyumumma talk. Big up to Jammy's and Rodigan
This is a direct method of using black music in a colorful way. White people use Jamaican music indirectly to enhance their career and make huge profits. Kiss Blackwell is one of them. Still, Rodigan is brave. He knows how to blend himself, mix and match swinging the crowd.
Mi nah lie Rodigan a bad man
Rip Frankie Paul you're message not lost or forgotten you're legacy still lives on blessed now in Zion with still singing with other greats
This type of sound clash will be the trend of future sound clashes where DJs and Sound Systems will present their best to the table with positive energy all across the board. Thank you David Rodigan and King Jammy's.

Big Up King Jammys! His an Icon! ...and if you don't know, like Echo Minott said, just listen to the flow!
These are the sounds that hooked me forever to Reggae Music!
I'd love to do what these guys do, just play reggae through a monster sound system
That would be special
Yeah but what about securing all those unique dubplates?
@@TomTomTomTom538 u dont have to run dubplates unless u clashing. U can play reggae through a monster set as it is.
Refreshing to see a clash with no sound trying to kill another sound. Big up Rodigan and King Jammy
Ah pure RESPEK And BIG CHUNES people NO SOUNDBWOY KILLIN!
