You should give credit to majority of Filipinos to know what they want. They might not be perfect but it is their own free will.
Does it mean that if truly Marcos was so successful in campaigning using the social media platforms then Leni was a total failure in it?
Simply put, Duterte and Marcos had laid a golden path for them to win in these past years. In 36 years, they toiled in the shadows to rewrite history and weaken our guard. Leni did not have this luxury, as any in the righteous path. She has been doing her job amidst the lies and efforts of Duterte and Marcos. So yes, the Marcos reaped what they sow. They sowed lies and disinformation, propagated it until the time was right. The past was rewritten.
Not really, its about the appearance and appeal! On why marcos won and not leni. Portraying marcos as lesser evil i would say than leni, a choice that makes marcos appeal more to the masses. Having less black paints in his back other than his late father and the more they paint him as like his father did, the more people would likely vote for him. In otherwise pretensionsly pretending a only shortcomming is he being the son of late marcos and the only debate that can bring him down. Without joining any debate that can make him bad to the audience and avoiding mistake of a bitter taste by voting him. And avoiding bad qualities that fit of a president.
and to further discuss, just look at robin padilla his only qualities on why people vote for him is his actor career. What's his qualification fit for a senate?? Some of the answer that i can find because he has a good heart and have a good intention for the philippines.WT F how LOW can pilipines Fall? A good intention qualify as a fit for senate? But it has been an overarching theme among her supporters that everything's about disinformation in recent years when the root cause has been brewing for the last three decades or so. The lack of self awareness from Liberals and their supporters and disconnect from the rest of population has caused them defeats in the last few elections.

Now with the elections soon to end and its likely that Marcos will win. I hope those who voted for him will also criticize him if he makes mistakes/does something eroneous. I'm not a voter because I don't trust the government. Maybe if I see big change that's the time I will cast my vote. However, I don't see any bad if Marcos will become president I like his plans for the future and hope it will all be implemented/applied. We need charter change or something about changing the laws here in the Philippines to move to the next step. Many years had past and no one ever achieve this - NO ONE yet. Hopefully big change for this next 6 years and then I will decide if I will vote and trust the government.

@@clarence5255 , Hahaha. I beg to differ. To repeat what she said, the issue of unregulated social media platforms slowly undermining democracy is not unique in the Philippines. It's happened all over the world, especially in many parts of Africa. Zuckerberg has even been grilled over it. The truth of the matter is, the traditional way of campaigning is disappearing and now politicians can just hire some experts and disseminate whatever information they want. The point she is trying to make is: These platforms need to be regulated ASAP! We need new laws, etc.
EDIT: But under the Marcos Administration? I am not confident in the kind of laws that will come up.
