Matt Entz left his head coaching job at North Dakota State to be the linebacker’s coach at USC. USC also got University of Houston’s defensive coordinator, and the LA Rams defensive line coach as well. And they also took FUCLA’s defensive coordinator as well. Looks like Reilly’s finally learned his lesson about defense. ✌🏻
Kane was making 800k at South Alabama and at Bama he'll get around 2 million.
USA went 7-6 this year. 4-4 in their conference. And seems most everyone put 30 on them. Where’s the defense?

I doubt Kane would leave after one good year unless it was for a high level HC job. He left a lower level school to become DC and higher level schools are going to need more than one good year to want him.

That's what I said when Saban hired Tommy Rees/Major Applewhite 2.0 and the cryptkeeper Kevin Steele who later admitted he barely coached the defense and Saban had to run it all. I don't know what's wrong with these 3rd tier hires.

Ill say it since no one else wants to........losing T-rob.will hurt us. We wint feel the difference until about 2 seasons or so, but mark my words, we will feel thus loss.
I find it interesting how a lot of guys are saying bama is going to be fine with these hires... "fine" will not cut it with the bammers. 9-3 or even 10-2 will not be "fine". These weren't the guys they wanted. These are the guys they settled for. They offered T-Rob the DC position and he turned it down, which begs the question as to why? Bama has the money, but T-Rob chose to stay and learn from Kirby. Settle in for a bit of mediocrity in Tuscaloosa.
Also, Deboer had Penix at Indiana and 2 years at Washington... Penix could've and maybe should've won 2 Heismans... that offense they're bringing to bama needs a Heisman qb that is not on the roster.
Your use of 'mediocrity' will mean 9-3, which could still snag a playoff spot. The game has changed. Older fans realize you can't lose such a legend and not drop off. That said, 'Bama will remain a contender, year in and year out.

They offered T Rob the co defensive coordinator position and they just hired a guy better than him in Maurice Linquist

Oh, and it was Dubose. I would rather forget, but....
Dubose beat Spurrier twice in the same year. Won an SEC championship as HC. He also won national championships as an assistant and a player. He was not the savior of the program but he did contribute to Alabama's greatness more that people remember.
Everyone of you on this panel was not alive when Bryant retired, Bama went through some lean years but did make a national championship run in 89, losing to Miami. So, all the young fans who know only Saban as HC have become spoiled. They may have to learn to accept the possiblity of a 9-3 team, especially with the changes to SEC. However, true Bama people will stick with the Tide, and see what unfolds. I will never become the Auburn fans who rolled Toomers in celebration of a retiring coach, talk about classless. Next season will be interesting, can't wait.
