Having Neyland outside of the top 5 I think is wrong, forget top 10. Even when the team has sucked, their fans showed up and showed out. Now that they are alive again, only a few teams have a chance at walking out of Neyland with a Victory. Even at noon games the crowd is nuts, ask Arkansas they had like 10 false starts last time they played there at noon. I give Bryant Denny stadium credit to, it’s intimidating to play Alabama at home. All of these stadiums are loud, at some point how good the programs are and how they play at home has to come into play. As a Georgia fan I’m never concerned about them going to play in Neyland.

You may not think of it as a historicaly tough atmosphere but it’s certainly up there currently.

I agree with you guys it’s nearly impossible to build a perfect top ten regardless of trying to appease fans…I think what they should have done is created a handful of groups/categories with defined criteria and each group of stadiums would have different effects on the gameplay, like decibel level affecting playcalling or elevation maybe having an effect or extreme/hot cold in certain situations.

@beersmoker4444 I'm a 5th generational Floridian. I have degrees from both UF and FSU. I still kept both off the list.
There are ways I've could have set up the criteria to have UF in the top-10. I could have added weather. I could have added how the stadium is constructed. I could have changed the years, etc.
I based my rankings off the last 5 seasons. Tennessee has a better home record, more fan attendance, and can be drastically louder despite the architectural benefits UF has.
If the rankings were set in stone, I would have them top-10. However, EA listed some of the criteria they used and said it will change as seasons progress. Hard to include UF when it's a fraction of what it once was.

Can you share a little more about your methodology? Georgia has only lost one home game over the last five years, which I believe is tied with Ohio State for the fewest in the nation. UGA also ranks eighth in average attendance over the last five years. So UGA would have to rank fairly low in the "recorded decibel levels" category to not make the top 10, which seems surprising. It’s is ridiculous to say that you would rather play a 7-0 Miami team on the road than a 3-4 Virginia tech team on the road. The last time we saw Miami undefeated, they beat down two top 15 teams in back to back weeks at home. I know Miami’s atmosphere is not great, but it is electric when they are good and it’s a big game

Ok Georgia should definitely be top 10 just after the past years. When a game comes to mind go watch either the 2019 game against ND or the noon game against Arkansas. It was a noon game and it sounded like a night game. Georgia over the past couple years has shown game and game again how loud it is by causing false starts for the other team constantly in games that helped Georgia a ton.

The team makes a stadium a tough place to play. Not the building , crowd, and traditions. Crowds mean nothing if the team isn’t winning at home. UGA and Michigan currently have the two longest home winning streaks in FBS CFB with 25 & 22 games. Bama has only lost 6 home games since 2008! 6!! That’s insane! By definition, those are the three toughest places to play right now. You can’t discredit TAMU being ranked #1 by mentioning their recent home record, then on the other side, NOT credit UGA, Bama, Michigan home winning records. Nothing intimidating by Neyland. No Hillbilly checkerboard has helped them win their division lately. As far as Jordan-Hare….you lose any “toughest places to play” creditability when you lose to NMST at home by 3 TDs just this past November. Cry harder.

List makes no sense and the worst part is there's no relativity between the rankings even in the Top 2.
Bryant Denny at #2 because it's a 100k stadium where their team loses one game every other year so that's why they're at #2. That's understandable. Move up one spot to #1 Kyle Field and it's a100k seat stadium where the team can't win 5 games in a year. Makes zero sense.

I would say the biggest snub of this whole list is not having Autzen in the top 10. They should be a top five stadium, not having them in the top 10 is blasphemous. Jordan-hare stadium should obviously be in the top 10. Autzen Stadium has set decibel records and is routinely one of the toughest places to play. even though they have a max capacity of like 60,000 which is way less than the other top 10 stadiums and almost anybody would agree. they belong in the top 10 unless you’re biased. I say top 3 should be 1 LSU 2 Oregon 3 Penn State .

From a non-SEC fan outsider's perspective, I think maybe your Auburn bias is undermining Alabama a little bit. Maybe? I mean, it's still a very big, very loud stadium where the home team has an absurd winning percentage. Furthermore, I don't see how fielding very good teams each year should be counted as detriments to Alabama, Ohio State, and Georgia's home stadiums. My rankings would be something like:
    1. LSU
    2. Oregon
    3. Clemson
    4. Alabama
    5. Ohio State
With Georgia, FSU, Virginia Tech, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, and Auburn in no particular order afterwards. Personally, I wouldn't have Kyle Field in my top 15, quite frankly

Yall are out of your mind yes Texas A&M is one of the toughest places to play. Largest student section in the entire nation. On top of the cult like rituals to stand and yell the entire game. Especially on defense you get shamed if you sit your ass down. The fan base is so damn dedicated they pack out half the stadium to practice what they are yelling the midnight before a game. I get the home record is not getting the greatest but even the worst A&M teams have give the best teams in the nation the hardest fight at home they seen at Kyle field.

Does it really matter? Far be it from EA not to fuck something up so that's par for the course. Besides, everyone will create a dynasty with their favorite team and inevitably that will be the toughest place to play, and the list won't matter whatsoever in a few days of playing
