Flying circuits in a Jabiru aircraft. Jabiru 160 circuits at Latrobe Valley. Jabiru out for a few circuits before the weather rolls in. How to fly a circuit.
I appreciate that you tell us what you are checking in the cockpit, and also in the environment around the aeroplane. I now know that if I wanted to have a look at a Jabiru in the flesh I could do it at Latrobe Valley aero club. A very enjoyable flight; thank you for taking us along with you.
Thanks for the video. I am purchasing a Jabiru J230 and was looking for a pattern video to get me into the right mindset. Yours was wonderful! Thank you!
I have owned a Jabiru J-120 C for the last 3 1/2 years. Don't believe the bullshit. They are a great aircraft. Do the factory maintenance course. The factory is really helpful, always available to answer questions and give advise. I am a very happy owner.
@@spannaspinna Mine has been just fine. Mine is a late "Gen 2" engine from 2013. It was made just after the problems with through bolts. It has hydraulic lifters with "flat" followers. The "problems" were adressed with my generation motor. The through bolts were enlarged and the profile changed. It has been a trouble free reliable motor. Of course Jabiru have since supplied gen 3 (roller lifters) and Gen 4 motors. The through bolt problems apparently were caused by "harmonics" after changing to hydaulic lifters in the early Gen 2 engines. I expect most of these engines have been up-graded to the new specs by now. I did the Jabiru factory maintenece course (5 days) and found it to be excellent. During that course we stripped a full time (2000 hour) trade in motor and measured it up. All measurements were within original specifications. Crankshaft, bore/piston, valve guides, ect. Very impressive. I have found the Jabiru factory very helpful when I have had questions and they have provided very helful advise when needed. As a new "maintainer" sometimes you come across questions outside your experience. Help has been just a phone call away. Excellent service. I am building a Zenith 750 STOL and will have no hesitation in putting in a Jabiru motor.

@@scottmatthews5280 I've been thinking about taking mine. I am game, my partner is not so sure....... They say the aircraft does not know it is flying over water. Well, that's what they say.....

@@charlesbrewer6552 good stuff yes I remember the early engines blowing pots off the crankcase
Great video,
My compliments for your proffesionality as a pilot. Nice camera angles. Excellent landings! I like the Jabiru aircraft.
José Ramón Prats thank you.
excellent pilot
Very good, edited well.
Good flying Scott my son is about to solo in a foxbat.
Hi Wayne awesome stuff
Gday scott, love your vids in the jab, getting my ticket at YLTV at the moment, might see you around sometime!
Pop in sometime, hangar 11, across from blue sky with grass mat out the front.
Great you thank her❤.. they know when they are L❤VED🎉
Great to watch your circuits. could you zoom your ' over the shoulder ' camera a touch, to imitate your own cockpit view? From the UK!
Love to but sold the Jabiru and built my Cruzer cheers
Nice
Thanks
Great video....except for that NY Yankees hat !
😁
Genuine from tanker stadium!
very good😎
I'm a pilot under training and I love your video. Is it complicated to make a video like this, and did you have help?!
It can be very distracting. Be careful but relatively easy
@@scottmatthews5280 yes I understand. A dummy run first might be a good idea so distraction is at a minimum for the recorded flight
What are you using to clamp the forward facing GoPro?
Ian Mooney I have a solid go pro base installed up behind the flap torque tube that the go pro clips into. Audio is through a y lead in the headset.
Good vid, well flown. Missed the finals ctaf call but otherwise perfect :)
I apologise, with nobody else in the circuit there was no need for a finals call.

Nice plane mate I am thinking about one greatly after I get my rpc considering their Mtow is 600 kg can these be registered through raaus?
Yes most are, Numbers on the side is RA, letters are GA registered. Ra you can do all your own maintenance and have a ball.
What are you using to record audio onto the camera?
Daniel McIntosh just a Y lead in the headset for a go pro.
Have you taken your Jabiru to Tasy?
No not sure I am game enough,
