100 percent for me. I spend so much time arguing with myself in my heart room. Guys I've been so engaged in demonic fantasies especially lustful, to the point where I don't know what Godliness feels like. Please pray for me.
Wow. So much of my daydreams are rooted in rejection. I'd fantasize about being desired and pursued by men I was secretly crushing on, being married to my fave actors, even being famous myself, or just popular having many friends. I faced a lot of emotional neglect and isolation from my family as a child, didn't fit in and got bullied a lot in school, and struggled to make friends. So I began retreating into my mind as a young girl to cope. I noticed shows/movies and music are huge triggers for me and put me in that daydreaming state. Since I've spent so much time isolated, I'm always online or binge watching tv or youtube. I get so connected to these fictional characters and infatuated with these actors playing them. I don't interact much with people, and due to fear of rejection I've been too scared to because I think they'll only hurt me. Watching this I'm realizing this isn't just a "soothing coping mechanism" but demonic mental warfare. 😓

I talked to the Holy Spirit while daydream all the time. Or meditation on the Bible or if I have to write something. Daydream is a creative activity if use well. The Holy Spirit does not cohabitate with perverted mind anyway. The way I keep my daydream clean is by listening to positive books, intercession prayer, reading the Bible, or I have a positive hobby. I take a lot of classes, so I usually have something positive to think about.
I used to do this to cope with rejection. I repented when I realized how evil it was. In reality, it scares people away, thus further strengthening the stronghold of rejection.
As a former loner misfit to highly selective gyal adaptive misfit with a small circle of friendships as well as being a Christian late 20s woman, I noticed this about misfits in life; God has blessed us to be highly observant of other people and their patterns with all we have been through; however, when we as misfits deal with maladative dreaming/fantasies...they can definitely become strongholds and manifest paranoia. We must continue to rebuke and repent these fantasies; we should not let the devil use them as footstools for his schemes. Thank you for covering this! Since a literal child I was maladaptive daydreaming and dealing with anxiety, no idea where it came from. I grew up from a baby in a God fearing household but some of the most demonic stuff God delivered my mind from; necrophillia, murder, perverted sexuality, pornographic fantasies, idolatry, anger etc. Pure wickedness, never thought I would get this far with the Lord! I thought I was lucid dreaming but now I know it was maladaptive daydreaming. I would pray against it because I hated doing it, but now I’m learning this is maladaptive daydreaming. Wow!!!! Thank you God for opening my eyes. This pattern consumed me in 2021 because i used to use sleeping as a coping mechanisms and I am still trying to break the pattern on oversleeping now. (Through God’s grace). But this happened due to traumatic childhood experiences and this caused me to be so drained and have horrible headaches. But this would only happen to me when I would sleep. I’ve been struggling with this for so many years now and it’s good to know that’s there’s a large community of ppl that are going through the same thing! I mainly maladaptive my daydream abt romance (to the point where I appear smiley and blissful irl) and it mainly stems from rejection. I also daydream abt arguments, mainly abt past convos and situations, in order to have some kind of “control” over it, which can overall stem from unforgiveness. I’ve done it once or twice amongst others to the point where they had to check up on me. I do it literally everyday for such a long time and it usually takes up most of my day. I’m constantly living in my head. I’m going off to uni soon and I don’t want to continue struggling with this in the midst of more ppl, so I pray that the Lord delivers me and leads me to the proper strategies to overcome it, with His Holy Spirit. Wow. Excellent message. I've thought about things so hard my heart is pounding and I forgot where I was and what I was doing. I've gotten better squashing the thoughts as soon as I feel anxious but I still catch myself daydreaming about my future, good or bad.
And you can see this reflected in pop culture with villains becoming more a more sympathetic and glorified which then feeds those themes into the viewer creating a negative feedback loop between the maladaptive imaginations of both the producers AND the viewers. It's even reaching a point in stories where characters are "fighting against their makers" because of plot twists where it's the makers that are the true enemy, and even ones where it's the demons or demonic themed villains that are the ones trying to save us. The collective imagination of man is reaching Marianas Trench level depths of darkness.

It comes from rejection , isolation , trauma, ptsd. I started when i was in a narcissistic relationship with trauma to cope.

Ive had this issues since i was 13 or so im 31...i started doing it being insecure over weight hard to lose weight i used to wish i was diff with different body i think it also started cause i was sexually abused my whole childhood up until teen years made me feel bad about myself..
