I have also made my raised beds too wide, a very quick build when we first purchased the house! Part of my vege garden is shaded by Mireya’s! We have cut them back to fence height once, but they grow back very fast! Belong to neighbour. One of my raised beds is against the North fence so get a lot of shade. I hope to put my watering system in this summer! I have 3 worm farms, doing well and six compost bins, we don’t waste one scrap of waste!
I've put mulberry branches at bottom of a raised bed=Mulberry takeover!!.. also bought landscape premium soil which smelt like poo 🤢 & didn't grow anything much as was heavy clay... Now I just use my compost with chickens help & broken down cow manure
I mean free mulberry trees but 😳 I wouldn’t have expected that either. Oh landscape premium soil is the worst, I need to add that to my list as well! I am still dealing with one bed that is clay worse than our own clay soil. Not worth the money.
@@badajoma I filled my bed with some double mulched mulch from the dump. I had to dig it myself but was able to get some really well broken down with soil as well. It’s been the best new bed so far. And it was free
We throw the dump mulch in the chicken run and clear it out every year for use around the garden, it has worked well but there's often a lot of junk that shows up.
I put a banana and papaya circle in my vege patch which grew and fruited well but shaded other things and the banana spreads like crazy. I’m still digging the root out after 5 months
This was so helpful. Probably more helpful than most people's videos on how to do things, "properly".
Most lessons learnt are from mistakes made

6 compost bins! I have trouble filling 3 😂 mind you I treat the chicken run like one for garden off cuts
All in all looks great 😊

Did you at least get any bananas?
