Others said about the same things, but to make things easier, I advice 3 things to remember for the whole game. On Bayo herself : Always hold your attack buttons with your *guns*. Always, even as you dodge. Just, make it a habit, on every hits. Always hold your attack button. On top of this, what you did a lot was Punch Punch Punch Kick. This does a sweep which trips an enemy, and it gives you time to breathe, and it works against maaaaaaaaaaaaanny strong enemies in the game, so that's also a good habit to have. On the enemies : So, seeing them is sometime hard, especially as you press butons, so what you want to do is LISTEN to them, since a lot scream before attacking. Don't bother dodging preemptively, you can see / hear everything before it touches you, just do your thing, hold your buttons, and dodge when you need to. On what to buy : You have the choice between techniques, and the only thing I advice are *Bat Within*, Tetsuzanko and Heel Kick. The second choice is, within the items, to buy health ( Witch Hearts ) or Magic ( Moon Pearl ). Health especially will make things easier. Don't bother buying things in the weapon stuff, it's a big waste of money when you have other things to buy. Accessories are very good but also very expensive so up to you. With all of this, you should be set to go through this game ( and even the second ). Don't bother looking at the ranks. Nobody does well on their first playthrough, absolutely *nobody*. Noooobody. Especially with the QTEs, it's a little troll from Platinum ( and since you WILL get hit by them, prepare to not be too mad about them 🙂The save point is usually just before anyways ) . So ignore thinking about doing well, it's absolutely impossible when discovering the game. Oh and one final thing. In the loading screen, if you press the minus button, you can stay in the training mode.
Just a little tip when you're in combat; if you hold down the kick or punch button, she will fire her gun for a few seconds; it'll mean you can fight enemies from farther away. When you do combos, if you take your time and hold each button, it'll do way more damage before she finishes on wicked weave
Oh and another useful thing; when doing combos, if you need to dodge, you can do so between button presses. So punch, kick, punch can become punch dodge kick punch, or punch, kick, dodge, punch, etc. Hope this helps you going forward, otherwise you are doing an awesome job
@@ashe4124 If you hold punch or kick and dodge while continuing to hold (and firing your gun), you do what's called a dodge offset. Dodge offsets aren't explained in-game, but they let you continue a combo even while dodging.
In fact, there are a LOT of ways to do dodge offsets using different moves other than just holding punch or kick. Check out yoshesque's dodge offset tutorials if you want to start on the road to becoming a Bayonetta master.
Bayo’s design is so unique oh and fun fact her beautiful shadow is not actually her shadow, that’s the shadow of her main demon Madama butterfly, the giant heels and fists that Bayo uses for her combo finishers are Madama’s limbs

Dunno if this was mentioned yet, but here's a real handy tip about Wicked Weaves: They'll hit any targeted enemies (bosses included) from any distance. So no matter how far away you are from a foe, as long as you complete a WW combo, the last hit will always connect and cause huge damage! Might want to keep that in mind whenever you find yourself in a pinch. 😉
Another little tip. You can change and fight with other weapons you obtain during your game. Also is better to spend your in game money on techniques. And another tip, enemy's cover in fire can only be defeated during witch time.
QTEs are the worst here 😆. The lore is kinda all over the place but you’ll understand a little more as you progress the game. And yeah a quick combo on your ps controller would be triangle circle triangle (punch kick punch)
I recommend you not to start with the Kick button because it's too slow and doesn't have a lot of combos, instead you should start with a punch and try to summon Wicked Weaves to deal more damage. An easy combo route it's Punch, Kick, Punch. It's very simple and you end with a Wicked Weave. :)
I just get them mixed up haha my intention is always to start with a punch but my mind goes for a kick bc of the controls 😂 idk why steam doesnt recognize ps4 buttons
