Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003)
The Lost and Rare songs. This video mostly covers the "Pick Us a Rockin' Theme Song Before Mikey Gets His Way Challenge." Which were 6 Songs voted on by fans to be the theme for Season 7, Back to the Sewers. There were also the three songs that Mikey wanted to be the theme song, that are very funny. And finally a demo song that was a possible theme for the first season. Enjoy! - Розваги
1) would've worked better in the 90's.
2) would only work for a rap video or something like that.
3) movie credits.
4) would work if the entire season took place in the digital world (no being in the real world at all).
5) Awesome! And also has a great vibe to it.
6) could actually work for a different version of the turtles.
The Mickey songs were funny.
The first option is personal favorite, the second's kind of a runner up.
The second to last is basically what they went with.
Agreed I could see song 6 for the 2007 movie version.

I'm gonna admit something about back to the sewer. I love Cyber Shredder's design and concept especially how he possesses Baxter Stockman's Cyborg body.
The very idea of Cyber Space was awesome. Especially the abilities that Cyber Shredder and turtles used.

#3 Coming Back was kinda hot no lie but I'm happy with the theme that won. It was explosive enough to symbolize a return
The unused tmnt theme was used in Turtles Forever, I like the back to the sewers theme that we ended up with the best.
Where in the movie was that theme used? I haven't seen that movie since it first aired and can't remember the song being in it.

#1- Gotta bit of a 90s flair in it since 90s cartoons had a bit of a rock and roll in it. Awesome!
#2- A rapping type. Sounds amazing I'll give it that. I can get down with it as much as number 1.
#3- I don't know who the heck is that, but I freaking love it. My opinion THAT should've been the theme. Just saying. I wanna know who did that song.
#4- It's like TMNT crossed paths with Daft Punk. If they did that song I'd be psyched if they did, cuz this song reminds of their song Harder, Better Faster, Stronger. I DEFINETELY picked this for like the theme or at least the credits. I cannot for the love of turtle power, stop replaying this song. The same goes for number 3 cuz they both got me pumped up

1. Good, but too cheesy for my Taste.
2. Like some of the way they sing the lyrics but the some of the lyrics themselves are hit and miss for me.
3. Eh... I don’t mind it, but I get 2000’s ‘booty anthem’ song vibes from the beginning the rest is better.
4. Fitting for one of the elements of the season but I’m not a fan.
5. Perfect. No complaints here and glad this was chosen.
6. Not bad, but feels more like it came from a fan then a professional creator.

As much as I really loved the theme song that won and got used for Back To The Sewers, I honestly find "Bringing The Green" to be super catchy as well.

I personally really like #4. The techno music fits perfectly with the main arc of the season, and would've worked even better if it was the intro for Fast Forward season 2 or something. You can also tell it's a fan favorite because it's the most replayed song of the bunch.

Ah, nostalgia. I remember listening to these off my crappy laptop back in the day.
I was worried one of the sucky ones would win, so I made sure to put in a vote.
I was psyched when the season aired and I heard the song I voted for!
And then we saw the end of the series...sniff.
There are some things that seem too good to end. I wish they had kept going with the original writers and gotten the acclaim they deserved for being the only show to have a story-line so faithful to the original comics. (Eastman and Laird even got a few animated cameos as cops!)
I loved the 2003 series. Funny - but not over-the-top, enough action to keep even a hyper six-year-old's attention, plenty of good family values and relatable issues, and turtles that are actually cool.
On a side note, my little sisters started watching the Nickelodeon turtles a while back and liked them. Then they watched the 2003 series.
They kinda hate the Nick turtles now...
(P.S. Digging up toys and merchandise from 2003-2010 is a pain.)

1. The "Cyber Shredder" track makes me think of Tower of Dolls from Castlevania.
Do you have the Season 4 variant of the 4Kids theme that doesn't have sound effects?

@@Sammmmmmmm6171. Well, obviously, "The Winning Theme" was my fave as that's the one I voted for.
2. "Bringing the Green" would've been my second choice because the pace was fast and furious, which works for the Turtles.
3. "Comin' Back" was good, but the tempo was too slow to make a fitting theme.
4. "Cyber Shredder" is ridiculously catchy, but I felt it was too toned-down techno for the Turtles.
5. "Ready to Strike" was pretty cool too, but the tone still felt wrong for this series, considering all these themes would be compared to the original theme song.
6. "Turtle Time" was slow and the lyrics were a bit too patronizing for my liking - it's like they were trying to introduce newbies to the series or something - entirely inappropriate, considering it was their LAST season.
As for Mikey's Songs...
1. "Pay the Bills" is surprisingly good, actually.
2. "Soy Una Tortugita" is funny, but...
3. "Shake My Shell" is hilarious! Mikey singing in his "girly" voice kills me every time! XD I love 2003 Mikey! He's such an unabashedly impulsive nut!
I DID watch Dinosaur King when it started airing on 4Kids and the theme comes back to me from time to time (Come on! Make your move!), but I mostly just watched it for the CGI dinos. I was into Jurassic Park (or anything that had dinosaurs, really).
I liked that 4th Theme they had. It actually really fits Cyber Shredder

I actually really like Cyber Shredder theme. Maybe not as a opening theme but I do like it. And I like ready to strike cause it has a tiny bit of that cyber voice.

I can see why #5 won, but #1 is genuinely amazing because it fits that early 2000 fast rock vibe. #4 is also great but for a video game instead of the show.
First song is really good. I think it would have been a good fit. Kind of reminds me of an early Power Rangers intro song.
Definitely glad 5 won, it's the most in line with the 2003 theme and I like the consistency even though the animation changed (still not a fan of the eyes showing through the masks)

Five definitely was the rightful deserving winner of the voting. It’s because it sounded very similar to the previous theme songs throughout the 2003 series which is why people voted for it. But it fit with the core value of the previous seasons theme songs of the series which is why I feel like it was the best one and was rightfully the one that should have been picked which is why I think the fans went with it as well and voted for it.
I really liked #3 & #4. Mikey's songs were kinda funny and for the unused theme song at the end, I prefer the one that's well known.
K V True. Hearing the unused theme, it would not have fit the series' setting and tone well, since it started out as being closer to the original comics, but with some changes.
Well obviously I'm glad the the winning one won but the first choice wouldn't have been bad neither!

I will say, 2003 is the most underrated tmnt series. I'd put this one over the 90s or 2012 series for sure
I like 2012 more but it's (I'm my opinion) better than the 90s tmnt.

I know! I loved that episode! I would really like to watch the rest of the series but my main source of tmnt is youtube and netflix being a younger tmnt fan. I have been able to find some big playlists of 2003 series but they are clearly missing episodes. (Plus I didn't even exist in the year 2003 soooooo....) but what I have watched I think is awsome.

Damn.... this really takes me back. I remember hearing these songs over and over again on the website trying to guess which one was going to be the winner. Also that lost song was played at the end of Turtles Forever, I guess as a homage of the song that could have been the theme.

Kind of neat they composed so many songs! You gotta hand it to 2003 for being the only animated series that doesn't use the 89 lyrics in any way.

Thank you so much for compiling this! I was there for BttS's airing but either I totally forgot or just missed this somehow. I love learning about it! It's crazy every time i learn about stuff from 2k3 that was never saved and doesn't exist anymore, even though it feels like yesterday. Aside from some dedicated fans preserving it.
Edit: oh my gosh, Mikey's songs. I don't know what to say. I don't think I've heard these, and the fact I'm hearing something new from this actor for Mike, for possibly the last time? What an experience. And all his songs are fire.
I liked the female chorus of #3, but none of them were that catchy. And that's coming from someone who even liked the songs from the Coming Out of Their Shells Tour.

I like a lot of these themes and love how new, fresh and varied they are, kinda reminded me of the mid-2000s Power Ranger themes, but I'm glad they went with the 5th. Not only it's the best rock song out of the bunch but it also maintains the type of music used in S1-5 and Fast Forward. It's good to do rock, rock and rock, not rock, rock and R&B. Though I love Comin' Back.

I noticed that the unused 2003 theme was later remade for the end credits theme of Turtle Forever, the movie where the 1987 Turtles meet the 2003 ones.

Well, there are now posts on Deviantart that show the 2003 turtles hanging out with the Loud family from Nickelodeon’s The Loud House.
I think the fourth theme’s “Cyber Shredder, Cyber Shredder, Cyber Shredder, CYBER SHREDDER!” may get stuck in my head.

This may seem odd but I really like #3 theme song. I will admit it is not a right fit for a tmnt cartoon and especially not a right fit for children at the time but I would really love to here this song in a upcoming tmnt movie as a sound track.
Gotta agree... this was the best of the batch for me (and I have big hate for the 1, 2, 3, 4 theme), but it didn't really fit the show.
I remember this contest as if it was yesterday. Every night I kept voting for number 3 to win . But I completely understood why they went with number 5. Mainly I was just glad the ones who entered this contest live the series enough to try to get their version immortalized.
I heard Mickey's pay the billz in one of 2003 episodes credits, and was looking for it everywhere. And there was no sign of it in web. I even started to question my memory whether it was real or made by my mind.
My most favorite of the unused theme songs was the one that was on the Fox Box CD that had all of the theme songs for the shows that were going to air on the new version of the Fox Kids Block.

Some of those I liked okay but I'm really glad they went with the most energetic and catchy one and it had some of the familiar notes and lines from the original 2003 theme.

Number 4's music sounds like somethin out of tmnt 2 battle nexus but for back to the sewer im glad number 5 won it sounds like something i would hear from tmnt and the back to the sewer season is where i stopped watching idk why but i always had stuff to do and i just forgot about it and i really like the unused 2003 theme i could see this as a theme for a new series 13:05 I'm glad they used the unused song for the credits of turtles forever

Bringing the Green sounds like it would have been great for a 90's theme, but not for the Back to the Sewers era. Turtle Time is one of those trying to be "hip" to the times themes that are not good, Comin' Back is not much better. Cyber Shredder might work for an in episode montage music theme, or for a different kind of cartoon, but not for Ninja Turtles even if this particular season had a decently strong tech and internet theme mixed in. Ready to Strike sounds like a late 1990's/early 2000's theme, but wouldn't have done a good job getting me pumped for the show.
There's a reason why the winning theme was what it was, not only was it a decent and fun theme to get you excited for the show, but it didn't have much strong competition.

I agree. From animation to script, no other series has come close to it. Each turtle got their own growth arcs and it has serious themes it covered. Plus there wasn't any turtle shipping with April, which felt realistic for their friendship
