I tried out the Korg Nautilus 88 in person two days ago at my local store, and I'll be purchasing it next month. I primarily intend on using it as a stage piano, but I will also be utilizing the sequencer and synth effects. People complain about the lack of physical controls (and I initially did as well when it was first announced), but I actually like how the minimalist panel looks. Even my grandma said it looks very classy and stylish. Due to that, I also find it's a lot less intimidating to approach, and it invites me to just sit down and be inspired. As for the sequencer, I'm sure I'll learn it pretty quickly. I actually have a Christmas concert coming up in early December so the Nautilus will be put to work as soon as I get it. 😅
For me personally, one major drawback is the lack of surface controls. I want to use this for live performances and with my DAW for recording. That lack of controls means I'd have to buy a separate midi controller keyboard.
I'm thinking of getting this for hone use, DAW use. I use my computer when using my DAW so that's not an issue. I've had an M50 almost 20 years and have been very happy with it. Thoughts on the nautilus vs. Modx8+ vs. Fantom 08?
Korg Nautulis is a very advanced instrument, I have had it for a year, it is a difficult instrument to use, it seems like it will take time to use it to its full capacity... Side Chan Effect, combining drums and arrangers and sound editing require a lot of time, we can use this instrument according to our musical style. Believe me, it is very difficult to set it up, but if you think there is no need, just pressing a button will be enough... good luck.
Long load times = stability / robust. There will be 2 or 3 error checks probably, also loading of sounds, meaning that if you are playing this live you can bet your career on it. See Jordan Rudess of Dream Theatre and Liquid Tension Experiment.
The boot up rime is the line in the send that stopped me from gutting the original Kronos in 2011. The Nautilus is more or less a cut down Kronos with a darker touch screan GUI without Karma and all those real-time controls. It's about bloody time that Korg pulls its finger out and actually release an all now carting edge workstation instead of repackaging their ageing 20 year technology from the Oasys days!
Is it a great keyboard worth the cost? Sure. But whether it's right for you? That would take an in-depth comparison of its major competitors. Roland Fantom 8, Yamaha's latest workstation, Kurzweil K2700, and maybe others.

It’s a good idea to turn it on for at least20 minutes for the analog parts, yes it’s a real poly engine and the modular is fun and I love I’m eurorack. The patches are the same in the a t or not, so first hook it up to my Kronos witch is 88 weighted and my Deepmind 24, my 12 will polychain desktop, again twenty minutes before gistarting the gig. The Behringer is AT so use that. I wouldn’t trade my rig for anything!!!
It would be better to compare in making compositions comparing to Yama Montage instead of talking about the sound bank that it has comparing to anybodies daw/ computer 😂
Awful video. Too much pointless drivel at the start, no introduction to what the nautilus is and who it is aimed at. At least you got a free instrument I suppose.
Kori are descending in stature with this line. From oaysis to the Kronos, to this completely slimed down keyboard, and claiming it is their new flagship synth. Don’t make me laugh.
I completely disagree with you! The Nautilus is Par with the Korg Kronos! 9 synth engines The thing is a absolute beast! And is Much easier to use than some of the other workstations out now.
Don't be shy, we'd love to know what you think of the Korg Nautilus

Awesome, we think you'll love it
The last korg workstation I used was the Triton back in 2004.. looking for something familiar but new, maybe this is it
This has been really helpful to me, thanks! There’s nothing like hands on experience. With love, Ken

They should have left Karma IMHO. We can add sliders via a nano controller. We can't add back Karma though :( It was fun to use for inspirational!
Do the keys feel more like the Krome or the Kronos?
So your kids taught you that the log wheel changed the presets? 🤔 interesting tell me more please 🤔

Just got the 73…love it. It feels an updated OASYS. It’s not like the Kronos…it’s streamlined and the GUI is top notch. It’s not a flagship.

Dear korg, the only thing people need is an electribe 3 based on the originals with modern features. Thats about it. Nice vid. Thanks dude x
What would the modern features be?

The load up time is because its a LINUX computer booting up.

@@allworksnew no, I never daid that, but comparrd to first the oasys, then the Kronos, this is never a flagship product. Korg are regressing.
It is a poorly made Kronos. It does not sound as good as the Kronos and this is supposed to be the next step up.
Nautilus can sound pretty good if you know how to design sounds with it. It may not be a Kronos but it is a good workstation.

Rubbish! The sound engines are the same and it’s well built
@@kenstephens2955 I own Both Bud. a Kronos X88 and a Nautilus 61. In my opinion The Kronos sounds better, fuller.
I own it the AT version in Grey it's a beast , so to each its own, I have the Fantom 8 and Yamaha Montage M8X, for the price it's a beast
