    Stephen Colbert took over as host of The Late Show on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015. Colbert is best known for his work as a television host, writer, actor, and producer, and best known for his charity work teaching English as a second language on Tunisian date farms. Prior to joining the CBS family -- and being officially adopted by network president Les Moonves -- Colbert helmed “The Colbert Report,” which aired nearly 1,500 episodes and required Stephen to wear nearly 1,500 different neckties. The program received two Peabody Awards, two Grammy Awards, and several unwelcome shoulder massages. It won two Emmys for Outstanding Variety Series in 2013 and 2014, both of which appear to have been lost in the move. Colbert is pronounced koʊlˈbɛər, according to Wikipedia. His understudy is William Cavanaugh, who will be hosting The Late Show approximately one third of the time. Good luck, Bill!"

      I was thinking this, too. It's easy to come across as rather self-absorbed when you're a famous person on TV who's sort of expected to entertain, but not this guy. He seems genuinely down to earth, reasonable, collected and just really normal. There is no show here, just a guy being himself answering questions while still being funny and charming.

      I recently watched a couple of interviews How To Dad did with four of the leading stars from Daddy’s Home 2. Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg were totally disinterested in doing an interview with someone they didn’t know, while Mel Gibson and John Lithgow were really nice and completely at ease with this quirky New Zealander.

    Patrick Fugit is such a doll baby and he can act. I’ve now seen Alex and the List 4 times and Barton Smcheckleheimher’s Great Idea or whatever horrible name it was called ( actually not a bad movie and you get to see Patrick make out so that’s a win) . I’ve seen Wristcutters many many times and if it ends after season 2 which it looks like it will - where will I get my Patrick Fugit fix.
    And notice how cool and adorably semi relaxed he is during his first late night tv interview. I wonder if Colbert picked him or vice versa.

    Ages ago, he flew out to the east coast to be a prom date for this Korean girl, who was a childhood friend of his. He was already in movies at that point. After the prom, he went to hang out with her and her friends, and I joined them later in the evening. I can tell you that there are definitely times of that night that he'd more hazily recall than others. Seemed like he had a good time.

    I did that Popsugar #Twinning thing and I got like 76% match with Fugit and at first was like "wtf? You're saying I look like a man 14 years older than me?" but the more I look at it, our cheeks, noses, eyebrows, smile-type, feature spacing, coloring, are all extremely similar. We legit look like we could be related. AND HE'S SUCH A COOL, CHILL GUY, so that's awesome.

      +Pemphro there's no real such thing as a "Mormon school" here. We go to regular high schools that may or may not have a lot of diversity and religious freaks. [ I went to a school with mostly white ppl ] [jm Latino ] go up north towards Salt Lake City or east towards Provo and their schools got more Muslims and Mexicans, black ppl, etc.

    • @BethAnnMayberry
      @BethAnnMayberry 8 років тому +3

      +Giovanni Torres well, not exactly NO such thing as a Mormon school. We do, in fact, have private schools that are LDS faith based. Besides BYU being owned by the Church,, there are private LDS schools for K-12. I had cousins who went there. But not too the extent, like, Catholics do Catholic school (incidentally, even though we are thought of as a very Mormon state, we also have quite a few Catholic schools. I have presented at them. Likewise, I've given presentations at a Muslim school and a couple of fundamental Christian schools.). But I think usually in Utah, when asked if we go to a Mormon school WE are thinking, like, "yeah the public school I attended was predominantly Mormon" where as from an outsider POV THEY may be picturing the Mormon version of a Catholic school, like with missionaries instead of Nuns. And that is not really a thing. 🤓

    • @SiesVE
      @SiesVE 8 років тому

      +Pemphro there isn't a Mormon school, however since the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the dominant religion in the area more than likely 50% of school are going to be member that r active or not active in the church.
