    My old dishwasher had no rinse aid dispenser and fully dried my dishes. My brand new dishwasher can't do this and requires rinse aid. I'm glad that our advancements in dishwasher technology are forcing us to add more chemicals to accomplish the same thing old dishwashers did without them. I call that progress.

      Your old dishwasher was also designed to use way more energy and water, as well as using detergents that contained phosphates. Phosphates are extremely dangerous to ocean life and thus why they were banned.
      The rinse aid liquid is basically citric acid plus other water dispersants, I don't see how that is worse than phosphates. The detergent and rinse aid are bought separate because they are used in different steps of a washing cycle

    Replaced our old dishwasher two years ago for a new Miele one with autodos and auto open on drying cycle. The combination of using proprietary detergent and rinse aid has been amazing. Crystal clear glasses and sparkling crockery. Uses 8lt of water and less than 1kw on eco program. Worth every penny.

    I was wondering how safe is really dishwasher aids solution. As you can find on the Internet there’s some listing of chemical product in that dishwasher aids that is not specify on the bottle. If this product stays on glass and spoon everywhere inside the dishwasher is dries up. I know this over the year if you spread a piece of butter to your toast the butter will not stick to the knife it always fall down on your toast and does not stick to the knife. Surely you’re not the only one realize that but I wonder if those chemicals over the year can cause harmful damage to human and environment.

    just leave the door of the dishwasher slightly open after the process is done. the heat inside the machine will evaporate water and the open door will create a path for the hot humid air to exit, basically creating a mini convection oven inside the dishwasher, hastily removing any moisture inside the machine. i have never used rinse aid and all my wares come out spotless from the mechanicus. also non-ionic actives inside rinse aid usually stick to the glassware and can be harmful for human health in the long run.

    I use soft water and tried using the dishwasher without the rinseaid. There were no streaks but the dishes were wet which dried after I left the door open. Can I continue using the dishwasher without the rinseaid?

    • @DesignerAppliances
      @DesignerAppliances  4 роки тому +2

      Sure! Just know that using rinse aid will speed up your drying process so you don't have to wait for them to air dry. If you have an automatic open dishwasher this might not be a concern but technically when using rinse aid your dishes should be dry right when the cycle is complete. But it's totally up to you and your everyday preferences.

      Hello The Amazoner - for dishwasher rinse aid - yes many people use white vinegar to avoid the chemicals but with 5% acidity (or less), we don't find it a suitable substitute when it comes to ridding water spots and better drying. There are a bunch of natural rinse aid products on the market today we suggest trying before using vinegar.

      @@theamazoner4075 Congrats on your new dishwasher, which one did you buy? For a natural rinse aid we recommend the Seventh Generation Rinse Aid that has a non-toxic formula and is cruelty free. vinegar is an acid, over time the acidity could cause or accelerate wear in parts of your dishwasher.

    One secret is to wash on a hot wash and leave dishes in the machine at the end of the cycle to dry under the residual heat in the machine ... all dishes ,glasses and cups will come out dry and streak free .. only a small amount of residual water will be evident in concave areas ( Yeah alright smartarse ) convex ?? if viewed from the other side DUH!!
