Great videos last couple of weeks, i like seeing your review products but I love the updates on your tank - amazing- you know I’d love to see an update on your frag tank , keep up the great work
@@ParkersReef I’m struggling with nitrate, it’s coming down slowly with Chaeto and biopellets kicking in. For this reason I haven’t placed any corals. I thought I had a lot of fish, they bump into each other in that new display tank :). There is hope for me yet! Unless they are doing 20% water changes weekly, I couldn’t match that in my 300 gal
@@JimMcPherson1 Significantly streamlines the process for UA-cam to do it on a phone. But yes, some effort has been put in to ensure that it gives a quality image. Hopefully upgrade to the new iPhone 13 Pro this week or next :)
Holy hell $160 for a Royal Gramma? TBH I think they are worth much more than the $49 here in the states. They live a lot longer than a fire fish that has a 5 yr life. I have 3 in my 300 and they are a constant source of ent, they hang out in the water column keeping an eye on each other
That SPS grow out tank looked great. Just my opinion but I think there's too much coralline algae in this store it takes away from the coral on camera at least.
Hi there, I will be setting up a 600 litre mixed reef tank. So, I was hoping you could give me some tips on how I can help mature my tank faster therefore making it more stable. I’ll be quarantining all the fish that will go in and for the inverts I’ll just rinse them in saltwater after acclimating them and then add them to the tank. For corals I’ll dip them and then remove the peg of the frag plug and add it to the tank. After cycling the tank I will also add copepods as the first clean up crew and also as a source of food for the fish. What else can I do to help mature the tank faster? Please let me know! I may get some mature bio media from other tanks and then add that as well, but I am not too sure about that as most people here don’t quarantine there fish and almost always have some type of disease in their tank. I will be using dry rock and sand as that is the only option. Also I won’t have a refugium in the beginning. But I plan on getting the bio media and keep it in a bucket with a few mollies. If they do not get sick after 14-15 days then it should be safe for marine fish. I saw this on humble.fish I believe and they said it works because mollies are freshwater fish and they don’t have any immunity against saltwater diseases, so, if there are any diseases in the bio media then they will definitely get it. Please do let me know what else I can do to increase the bio diversity and maturity of the tank! I’m really sorry the comment the really long 😅 but please do help me out, thank you again in advance! :)
If you truly want to go the no-exposure approach with zero percent change of disease entering the tank, time is the only option you have to cycle the tank. But alternatively, you could try the mollie method, I can't say I have any experience with it though.
@@ParkersReef I see thank you so much! Is there anything else you would suggest to do which will increase the bio diversity in the tank other than using mature media and dosing phyto and pods?
Another nice lfs tour. The only disappointment from this shop is too much NFS stuff, like the current acro shipment, I went to the shop, been amazed with its but whatever piece I asked……NFS. If NFS better to leave in the basement out of customer view. Just my 2cent.
Hey jay. Not sure who you spoke to but a lot of the new sps in the shipment are for sale of course we will select a handful of acropora to end up in out aquaculture tank in the center of the store. Apart from that tank every single tank about 6000lt of tanks everything is for sale. The basement no longer exists due to economical changes in the world we had to shut it down so don't have the ability to put our aquaculture downstairs. The alternative is we just sell wild coral forever... We are just not into selling wild acros, it's not our thing.
@@NRKA It's good to hear form you guys. I was in store few days ago for some new frags but be amazed with the wild acro shipment, asked a few pieces and she said they are nsf, these pieces will eventually be frag and available later. As you said, maybe she's a regular staff that's why some misunderstood happened. Anyway, you guys have the most amazing sps collection in Mel.
@@CasualReefer I understand. That day was the day after it come in as we hadn't gone through it yet she wasn't able to sell. Come in over the weekend and happy to show you some really good bits. Wild fireworks acro is one
Cynarina sin-a-re-na. wasn't going to say it until you said it repeatedly but some amazing corals I want on the website and it says basically nothing is in stock but obviously they have loads of stock
Wow, what an amazing shop. I wish I had a local spot like this where I live.
It's an awesome store for sure!!
Solid thumbnail and great video as always!
Cheers man, always appreciate you dropping by!
These walks through the shop down under, are amazin
this is a pretty sweet example though, I must admit :)
Fantastic vid Sam absolute beauties in there, loved it 😍
Cheers Pete!

Will be an update on the frag tank soon, but in all honesty - it’s been a tough road!!
Sam what kind of filtration is on the new display? He has a lot of large fish, I’m impressed
Great question, I didn’t look enough at it - will be sure to next time I’m there

Wow! Speechless. Those display tanks looked amazing. Corals did too but this is Australia so it is expected lol.
The land of amazing tanks 😅
@@ParkersReef yes! Lol
My parameters are probably 4x higher than what most people would like and my goni is going nuts ,probably the best growth out of all my corals
Good stuff!!
May I ask what kind of camera you're using to shoot the video?
Hey Jim, iPhone 11 Pro for most of it and R6 canon for the DSLR shots 👍🏻
@@ParkersReef Thanks! I was hoping it wasn't a phone but am still impressed with the image quality it's capturing. Keep up the great work!

yeah - not everything in reefing is cheaper in Australia :P
Coral for days! And cheap. Thanks mate!
Thank you!!
Wow just wow best marine store in Melbourne maybe in Australia 🇦🇺
Has no shortage of coral candy for sure
Epic corals
I reckon!
I’m so jealous your coral costs are a fraction what ours go for.
Some things work in our favour, but against on other things
What kind of Clowns were those hosting that GONI
I believe they are black storms :)
@Parkers Reef That's what I was thinking until I noticed they had a blueish tint to them.
Black ice storms? Who knows with names these days 😂😅
Very envious
It’s a shop to be envious of for sure!

it is a bit of a contrast of approach as you are wanting diversity but also sterile. Makes it tough to cycle a tank!!
@@ParkersReef ah I see thanks!
Perhaps see if you can get a little media from a tank that you are happy has been handled the way you want and is disease free?

Thanks for the heads up, according to the Julian Sprung coral book it’s actually pronounced:
'Cynarina': SY-nuh-REE-nuh
Seems we were both wrong :)
@Parkers Reef which would sound exactly the same haha
Fair enough. Sounds different to me 🤷🏻♂️
Sy not sin
Nuh not a
Rest is same 👍
@Parkers Reef sorry you're right I explained that poorly as sin doesnt sound like sign/sine.
We have about 500 corals On the website
