@man se Tampa resident here! I'd spend so much more time in Orlando if I didn't have to drive. have a concert next week in Orlando but couldn't even take amtrak because the one train that runs a day runs too late in the day.
Great upload Bear, you & Thom sure know how to make interesting & informative videos. I believe the passenger cars will be the same as what Amtrak is currently getting (different interiors) from Siemens for its Midwest trains. I understand that 4 Siemen passenger cars are currently doing the Lincoln Service from Chicago to St Loius. I agree with your comments at the end Thom, it is great to see private companies getting into train travel again. By providing superior service in competition with airlines & Amtrak it will open up more options. Italo forced Trenitalia to 'lift the bar' in relation to High Speed Train travel in Italy and it's the customers who get the benefits that come from competition.
I absolutely agree with you. And I absolutely HATE the dryers on Amtrak’s new Siemens cars; the Xlerator (nicknamed Xlerappy). I can’t get over how common they are in the US. You can do better than this, Amtrak.
A five-star presentation Bear, comprehensive, detailed, and very interesting. Beautifully done, and it revealed the very impressive improvement in train travel in Florida.
It is a shame you didn't make it down there in December as Brightline was offering your first roundtrip ride for free. I was able to take advantage of that offer. I really liked the Brightline.
the real money maker for Bightline will be the route Miami-Orlando. early next year would be arriving to Orlando, even now the route WPB Miami makes sence during the week to avoid the horrible traffic in I-95. for sure the train is much faster at some hours than driving. The same company is plannig a rail service between LA and Las Vegas, that project will be much cheaper than this one because most of the line would go in the corridor between lines of I-15 they won't need to buy much land like this Miami-Orlando-Tampa project,
Instead of taking a rideshare to the airport (which is pretty meh especially if your goal is utilizing public transit to the max), you could have easily taken the Miami Metrorail Orange Line directly to the airport. They have somewhat frequent trains especially in the middle of the day, sometimes every 10 mins or so. You can take that to the airport station, walk directly to a peoplemover that at peak hours comes every few minutes and take that free of charge directly into the airport.
My dude, you know nothing. You don’t know whether he took the metro or not that day (spoiler, he did). You don’t know what our goal was (spoiler, it was to show Brightline and the services they offer). You don’t know what his schedule was (spoiler, it was tight). You don’t know what the service conditions were on Metrorail that day. Long story short, it’s easy to be a meh little keyboard warrior that things they know the right way to do everything, but you weren’t there, so you didn’t have to make the calls.
@@Thom-TRA Dude its a single comment??? You never showed bro taking the metrorail from brightline to the airport, if anything you showed him taking a rideshare and how you snap back at me like I've committed some sort of a felony in your eyes. Yikes man. You genuinely sound like a petulant child. I have taken this route many times, from MIA and vice versa. Brightline and Trirail. Recently, I flew down from Chicago and took this very route and was just barely able to make my train because of delays. Just a friendly recommendation, maybe don't take the most mild-mannered criticism as someone personally insulting you. Not a good look.
I’m just wondering why you didn’t go to Miami and took it from the beginning to WPB then back. That’s what I did to get a good experience. I don’t think it goes at a high speed between Ft. Lauderdale and Miami due to close proximity. WPB is further. 😅 The whole system is beautiful though! 🤩
I think closing it down for COVID probably delivered a big hit. It’s just not an option a lot of people remember to think about when planning a trip. Here’s to hoping that the Orlando extension improves ridership!
@@TohaBgood2 Many trolley companies did the same around the turn of the twentieth century. By 1918, they began their steep decline. There are none left today. LRV lines are public agencies. I wonder if that's in store for Brightline.
yes, i noticed that too and actually right about now i am living in south florida which really favors traveling in ones own car. as you say, time will tell . then too, at least tourists in fla who don;'t rent cars can travel to disney in a cool, new way. by the way, that was not a reasonable fare for such a short trip.
way, cool trains and stations for 1 to 4 hour trip durations like miami to orlando or tampa as well as from la to vegas.. for that, they get an 'A'. onthe other hand, i prefer way cool but 'cozier' trains for longer trips like from nyc to fla or nyc to toronto or montreal and definitely for traveling further like to the west coast or the midwest. i hope amtrak's new long distance venture cars will feel more like long distance cars than these short to medium length trains .
I'd love to ride this one day. I can't wait until it expands to Orlando.
Hopefully they’ll continue to Disney Springs and Tampa too!
@@Thom-TRA it won't stop @ Disney Springs, Sunrail will service disney Springs, , but will go to Tampa,

Awesome video and I can’t wait to ride this train soon! I especially love the Dyson Airblade Tap hand dryers in the restrooms!
Thanks! I have to ask… are you a channel all about hand dryers? Because that’s pretty cool…
@@Thom-TRA I’m mostly hand dryers, but sometimes I upload other stuff like train trips.

Thanks for this video, I've been on Brightline several times and now waiting for the Orlando extension to open in the next few months.

Honestly, the service is just better overall. Love this one!!

Because we had a super tight schedule and these flights were the cheapest. We love Brightline, excited to try it out more!
@@Thom-TRA I see! 👍🏽
would kill for a Chicago to new Orleans route going through St Louis and Memphis
Waiting for what they do in Vegas to LA route.
oo by the way, there is free wifi in the stations and trains, with very good connection speed,
Please do an update when passenger traffic picks up.
That train looks great! Stylish, comfortable and good quality! But I do notice that there aren't a lot of passengers using it, why could that be?

Bear got original Pringle’s 🤮
Looking forward when I can take it from Orlando the Brightline!!!
Nice images and clearly a lovely train. Pity about the commentary 'disappearing' in places.
Running trains carrying fewer than ten passengers does not seem the best recipe for a company's long-term survival. Time will tell, I suppose.

How can they afford all this empty space?
