I’ve done local and long distance on and off for around a decade (west coast) and have never seen any dudes (even old timers or out-of-towners) do this. Wonder if it just never percolated out here. Had an older dude help out on an offload in southern CA and he barely spoke English but he sure made himself clear that I should be using hump straps/the back carry. After probably too little experimentation I decided that in most scenarios it is more time/labor efficient to use other methods (2wheel or fast two man carry). But for the task of carrying dish packs it is truly elegant. FWIW me and most of my coworkers come to moving from other athletic backgrounds…I came into the field as a 20 y/o with a far greater understanding of lift/body mechanics then any of my adult coworkers. Hard to imagine all the old-school dudes who didn’t have that info-I guess these are the solutions they came up with! Love the videos!

Dish pack usually on first floors. Just use ramps for stairs and 2 wheeler with a high pistol grip dolly and take 3 dish packs in per trip.
That might work out west or in coastal regions but, in the north east most homes are not built on level ground. Quite often we will have a flight of stairs to get to the home. You would need to bring several sets of 16ft walk boards if we did what you are suggesting. We almost never use 2 wheelers because they end up slowing us down.
