You are so supportive and great video, I had an interview for HCA in the NHS but with my personal life I could not do the shift they told me in the interview,
I have a question for you. I'm an NHS worker in catering and also I m doing pre-access nursing alongside my GCSE in college.
I want to drop college classes and go for HCA to start my career in the NHS to become a nurse but I don't know how long will it take through the NHS.
With college 2 and 3 years in University,
I don't know what to decide is it worth sticking with college courses or through the NHS?
    Please help me, Carol.
    Many thanks from England

That is great that you wish to follow a nursing career! Have a look at my video: How to Become a Nurse that might help too. It is usually 3 years full time on a pre-registration nursing degree and 4-5 years on Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship. I would suggest you finish your access college course, which is good to have for either routes. You may want to look into 2 year foundation degree too if you want to become a nursing associate instead of registered nurse. Nursing Associates are band 4 on current pay scales and Registered Nurses are band 5. It is easier to get on an apprenticeship if you work for an employer already. I would suggest you attend open days and recruitment events at Uni and with employers to help you decide and see what opportunities are out there. Good luck!

You could draw on your reasons for wanting to become a HCA and your personal qualities. You may have experiences at school/ University or from home life experiences if you have not worked before.
