Just pulled the trigger on a used 2017 Limited (literally a couple hours ago). We wanted the third row seat with the Limited trim package and low mileage. Took forever to find it. Finally nailed one down with 59K miles on it. We jumped all over it (pending inspection from my mechanic tomorrow). Replacing a 2009 Traverse. There is no comparison between the two. So friggin excited!
awesome! Should be no issues and hopefully it all works out! This is really one of the last SUV holdouts being body on frame, so don't expect it to drive like a car but more like truck.
Just bought a 2024 TRD ORP. Absolutely love it so far. Had oil undercoating done (live in rust belt), some interior accessories (it’s blacked out), and having paint protection and ceramic coating done next week. Going to put some Mickey Thompson Baja Boss tires on it before winter. It’s an amazing vehicle.
I have a 2024 TRD off-road I bought after my 2016 SR5 got totaled. I truly like the TRD off-road better but you know the most petty thing kind of bothers me. I lost my sun glasses holder for the crawl control knobs. Lol honestly you can’t go wrong with either one. I was planning on keeping my 2016 for another 10 year or more. Hopefully my 2024 will be with me for 20 years.
I@@GarageMatters_vroomi like how they already know what would happen. These 2.4 to 3.0 turbos has been in the market for a long time already in Asia mostly and those still have a stellar reputation. The only thing they should whinr about is price.
@@wowmawc Well, I don't think price will come down as they keep stuffing more electronics into these vehicles. It's also worth noting us folks in America will probably use these engines differently.
Thanks! If it was up to me I would have went with the trail edition or TRD because of craw control and multi-terrain select but they don't offer 3rd row seating. Good luck and I hope you find the right 4Runner!
Thanks for another Excellent review. Only thing I don't like about the Gen 5's is how difficult they made the oil changes. They have to go back to the screw on oil filters and make a small panel on bottom skid to access. I think you are preaching to the choir about the 2025 4 Runner. I think those will soon be lot ornaments like the Tacoma. The 2025 4 Runners are spec'd by the EPA and are in no way designed or built for consumers. No consumers requested a 4cyl engine in the 4 runner or that crummy 8 speed lousy shifting transmission from the Highlander. I also see the 4 Runner production going down to Mexico soon with the Tacoma as they share so much as far as production now. Some young people are all dazzled by the pile of new electronics on the interior but who knows how reliable those can be with real off roading. The engine has no room and a boatload of electronics on it making it nearly impossible for DIY'rs to work on.
You bet! I can't agree more about the oil change situation but can live with it since it's all metal down there. I sure hope the 4Runner don't go down to Mexico because I still believe Toyotas that are Made in Japan have better quality control. It's not about the manufacturing process but the culture of the people that are working those processes. Being fortunate enough to live in Japan a few years, I came to realize how much pride they take in their work.
@@mazepa-slavaukrayini932 Actually, It's the EPA requirements which are killing the auto industry. As long as they keep setting these insane standards for mileage and emissions it can only get worse and worse and worse. That and continued total dependence on massively overpriced foreign oil.
those are Rocky Mountain All Terrains, I have a tire review with those tires on pavement and off road. See my Garage Library Playlist for the video or the following direct link: ua-cam.com/video/kOM5Jm0Oodo/v-deo.htmlsi=UQdnaaG1ATo8hjjM
Thanks for stopping by! There so many companies out there and I just ended up going with the Fahren Termitor Led Light. I been running them for a few months now with no issues. If you have 3 minutes, check out the link below for the installation and how those bulbs look like. ua-cam.com/video/Oozfd_iqnLc/v-deo.html
probably best to ask the dealer, but.....its probably a supply chain issue. Those 4Runners are still built in Japan then sent to the docks where they wait and those ships aren't going sail until they've packed it full.

I have a 2018 which I just paid off. That baby is beautiful!
Zero issues.
0 payments a month, definitely a win!

2024....Nice. I'm sure these will last 20 years, they're still made in Japan.
Good review! I also own both the 4Runner 2024 and a 1994 Celica.
thanks! both have been great vehicles and I'm definitely getting my monies worth
2.4L will kill its self off. Good review
Time will tell...thanks for stopping by! 🍻

@wowmawc yes turbo charged engines have been pretty good in Asia. But still not as durable and reliable as the V6 engines.
Great review, debating between the different models, leaning towards the Off Road.

👍👍👍 Between the UAW and Mexico (doesn’t really matter which), Any future vehicle platform will be doomed to failure.

Great review! Have a question, can you hear your ac compressor kick on (about 2 sec whirring sound) while driving on lower fan speed?
Thanks! In regard to your question, I can't say I remember or it doesn't sound weird to me to notice. Maybe someone else can chime in?
Thank you for that very long term review. What tires are those?

Awesome review man. I've been looking at adding LED's to my 20' 4Runner. Which ones did you go with?

I ordered the 2024 4 Runner back in April but still not arrived yet. U have any idea how long I have to wait?

Go ask the dealer wtf
