Dave. Please thank your wife for being so patient and understanding. Without that we would not be seeing your great content and skills. Love the Mustang 2 build which I thought was crazy at first. 👍🏻
I will. She puts up with a lot
Dave!! I hope you never stop fabricating your own designs. Anyone can buy something, but you are special, because only a few people can do anything by buying nothing. You are never boring dave, you are an interesting person, and you are why we all watch.
Much appreciated!🤙
Dannnggg Puddins out here with a lifted rig and Dave's lowering one. Is it opposite day or something?!😂
Hahaha🤷♂️. It happens
I was thinking the same thing
Right?!??
EXACTLY 🤘😆 What is happening, is this the Bizzaro world from the 70s Superman thing, WHO CARES, I'M TOTALLY DIGGIN IT 🤘😁
Looks great Dave! Plus you nailed it on wheel/tire choice!
"Dirt Head Dave", the only dirt I saw was blowing off the control arms! WOW! that thing is Way Cool! I hope people get it - art & engineering/fabrication! Great idea, Dude!! Thanks for showing me some innovation!!!
It’s more of a state of mind. All about getting something cool put together
Watching these videos reminds me of hanging with you in the shop while you built the off road runner way back when. That was a cool spot.
Good times!!
This was my dream content from Dave waaaaay back when I first saw him with Fredo.
I’m finding my place
Digging the Mustang II. Such an oddball car, love it.
Thanks. It’s so weird
Hey, its got kind of a good Low Rider body, great decision for the junker
It does have some good lines. But weird proportions
@@thedirtheadshed put 'er on gold daytons!
@@ScrizzDubb hunnit spoke triple GOOOOOOLD!!!!
Rome was built in a day , Ive been working on mine for over 20 years ,3 different motors 2 transmissions , 2 paint jobs and a front end and rear end rebuild. It's all about how much you love your car , my wife will go before my car does , 2 has already found that out .lol
That’s some car commitment!
Sunday funday, thanks for the Mustang series, my entertainment for today!
Right on. It’s a cool little cruiser
I used to ride to school in a 75 Mustang MachII Cobra with my older brother. Very Nostalgic watching this, I would love to have one, but this was the Dweeb of Mustangs, before Dweeb was a word 🤷♂🤷♂Hmmmm I need to get my 84 Four Eye Fox Body V6 Vert back on the road... I love your progress on this!
That 84 sounds cool. Get out there and work on it!
VERY COOL, DAVE!!!!
I had a couple of IIs, when I was younger and, only dreamed of dropping one of them like this!!
I don't care what anyone says, the V8 cars,(Mustang IIs) were cool and fun to run around in.
I can't wait to see what you end up with!!!
Right on! Glad you’re digging it!
I'd 1000% rather watch someone build bag mounts from welding bottle caps than watch someone just throw money at prefab parts. I HATE those cars and I'm still watching this build! Very cool, man!
I appreciate that
Fun to see love given to cars no love for when we were in high school. Only thing we loved about these were when an Angel was behind the wheel.
Yeah! Iconic tv car
Haven’t even watched it yet. The cover photo tells me it is awesome.
Right on. Hope you liked it
I'm still waiting for the dancing deck lid, but you have convinced me it's possible not to hate a Mustang II! Woot woot! Looks great!
Making that trunk lid wave. Houston style….
From the door handles forward , that thing is awesome.
Hmm… I’m still unsure.. it’s just odd
Rad nasty low. Keep up the great work. I look forward to seeing the rear match the front.
Thanks, me too
Thanks Dave. I always learn and get inspired by your productions
Nice! Glad it’s working
The explanation and overview is excellant . I been on the fence about putting them on my 41 chev but now i understand the mount process and go forward with an idea of what to expect. Thanks!
Right on. Have fun with it
I so..... wanted one of these before to bag but now I want one even more ! That thing is awesome
Go scoop
One up
Wish I could find one without paying arm n leg
On vacation with my family I pick up a copy of Crawl and what do I see. Dirthead Dave and a sunken butter jeep. I like that even though you swamp your rig causing extra work it doesn’t ruin fun.
That was still a great week. But I’m paying for it now
nothing could make that body style look good! the designers at ford were smoking something laced with the funky stuff!
They are a little odd
Never thought that year of mustang could look that cool. Awesome vision you have. Keep up the great work. Can't wait to see it totally slammed.
Thanks: I’m looking forward to cruising it
Dave is single handedly making the Mustang II cool.
I’m trying!
Heck yeah man! Definitely liking this stang way more than I thought would!
It’s just cool and weird. Has classic style after all these years
Dave… love, love, love this rig.
Thanks. I’m starting to
Love it I saw the thumbnail and was like yep one of those cars are on my want list
Nice!
Who knew a Mustang II could be so rad?!?!? I love it!!
I didnt
hahah I'm in my 40's and still playing with 90's Berettas... no kits for anything with that platform. Keep up the custom work, It makes it unique!
Those cars have a classic style to tjem
Awesome job Dave. Never thought I would be excited to see a mustang II. Keep up the outstanding work.
Thank you. I had never been excited about them either
I love seeing original ideas
Thanks! I’m digging it too
Wow, those mustang 2’s r really growing on me. Yours turned out insanely awesome. Our turkeys do the same thing when im working on my junk. Learn to live with it because they just keep comin back lol 🤙✅💵
Glad you’re digging it. I’m gonna throw a few more days of work at it in September
I’ve never considered myself a low rider guy but this guy is so talented and so fired up about everything he does, I just have to see what happens next! Mustang 2’s and pintos were pretty common when I was in high school but I would have never guessed I would think one would look cool. Here it is though!
Thanks. I’ll keep working on it. Hopefully it comes around
DAYUM, that lays out AWESOME in the front!!!! That's going to be cool when you're finished. A perfect way to go with it, weird custom/lowlow. Bags are the best!
Thanks! It’s fun and weird
Killer!
Love the 70s 80s Lowrider style.
Now you just need to find a set of 4 lug Cragar SS wheels to complete the look.
It’ll be interesting to see how you do the rear bags.
I would love a set. But thirteens wouldn’t clear the lower ball joint with the drop spindles
@@thedirtheadshed I wonder if they made them in 14”?
Going to look really good all laying out in a parking lot somewhere. Can’t wait to see it done.
Me too. They get so much better out of the shop
I’m diggin this build Dave! Minitruck and Lowrider tendencies never die. Some bumper revision or deletion may be the next order of business, it’s so slick! I’m also a fan of that JDM style Maverick build that’s floating around google images for inspiration too. 🤘🏼🏁
Bumpers are a big ugly problem
Sick. Looks good laid out over the chromies!
Need more of that MiniTruck build, Nissan
Coming soon: thanks
Dang, Dave; you *did* manage to make a Mustang II cool! Please pull off the 5mph bumpers and fab up front &rear sheet metal roll pans for it!!!!!
Custom stuff is in the works
Thanks for sticking up for the Mustang II! I’ve always loved those little cars!
I’m just giving it a second chance. It has potential, but something has always been a little off
I really hate that year of Mustang that being said I really love what you're doing with it so cool!
Thanks! Hopefully it looks good with a little more work
Hey Dave lemme say your spirit for this hobby is pure brother. I’d watch you build a mini bike.
I appreciate that. Cheers
Love Mustang 2's!! An the Ghia's My odd mustang . Was the 83 glx convertible. Maroon exterior, interior, new paint, top. White wall tires, 80's era wire hub caps. From a Crown vic. Looked great. Love the vibe. I feel from the Ghia. Your videos are great also. Content, without b.s. Just car stuff. Which i like.
Glad you’re digging it. More to come on this little car soon
The mustang 2 (pinto same thing) is an under loved car. There is a good reason that front end is under most hot rods. I dig the hell out of this project. And am looking forward to following along
Right on. I’ll keep plugging away
That’s such a rad mod and looks awesome!!
Thank you
This car is definitely the spirit of low riding. Taking a cheap, plain car, slamming it and making it cool.
I agree.. the og’s didn’t start out with the coolest cars off the lot. They got what they could afford and make them cool over time
Cant wait for the next installment of the bagged Mustang II. You rock.
Thank you
That's cool Dave taking EcoBox Mustang and make it rad. 😁😎👌👍
Doing what I can!
I’ve gotten a little behind on my UA-cam playlist lately Dave, but really enjoying the video as per usual. Have a great one.
Nice! Thanks for watching
I was a little surprised. That looks cool as hell. Now if that was a Cobera II with the TTop I would be really stoked on the looks of it. And I do like the looks of the hatch back over the coupe. And I'm definitely a child of the late 80s. An F body fan to the core. And love the Mustang II Cobera.
The t tops are awesome, but I have something a little different in store
this kinda video furthers my vision of dropping my 86ish longbed Dodge D150 on bags! just need to get to the point moneywise and equipment where I can do that
Those trucks look good low
Dave is single handedly raising the value of Mustang II's!!! Buy now before they're all 10k or more.... Lol
It will take more than just me building them
@@thedirtheadshed someone has to be the first!!
Nice work Dave! Now you have to get the resr dsne asap so we can see that thing sittin down in the weeds!
I know! It’s killin me
Reminds me of the one my brother had in the 80’s. 2.8, centerline solids, and chrome side pipes.
That sound like a street machine
With taking the chunk out of the lower control arms. I would weld a plate on the bottom of the control arms too.
Always room to add more metal
Fricken luv it! Lookin awesome! And, no you are not the only 40 year old doing stuff like that in the garage!!!!
Good! Keep the dream alive
That MII looks sick laid out!
Thanks!
Great build! You are going to have so much fun!
Need to button up some things and drive it!
You are definitely my favorite UA-camr. Being a former minitrucker. Now into jeep stuff love watching all of the projects you are into
Thanks! I’ll keep ‘em coming
This lil car is shaping up to be extremely rad. Cant wait to see the back dropped, and maybe a bumper tuck?
Both in the plans
This is turning out way better than I ever thought it would! Those chrome wheels really work with that faded blue paint job. And this car looks a whole lot better dropped down than I thought it ever would. It’s just helping a lot with the stance and proportions.
Much agreed, it’s still a little funky in person. But I think that will be part of its charm
@@thedirtheadshed embrace the funk... Feel like it needs lace panels on that dark blue roof
Those bottle cap mounts are so cool, love seeing you think outside the box.
Thanks. The worked out perfectly
You`re the air bag guru Dave !
Thank You for sharing your video, and letting us hang out .
Thanks for dropping by
I can't wait for you to build custom bumpers/filler panels
We will see. I have some ideas
It’s all coming together!!! Gonna look awesome.
It is. Kinda crazy
Okay, I had my doubts but I'm actually impressed how much laying on the ground just makes that body style look so much sexier !!!
It has good lines for it
Dave's "Needs more low" special.❤
Always needs to be lower
Nice way to make a Mustang II look cool!
Thanks
It's an absolute pleasure to watch you fabricate.
Thanks!
You're right!
I'm digging your vision on this
Thanks. I’m totally happy with it
Love it! If you did kits for everything, you would just be another lame bolt on how to install channel. This rocks
I appreciate the ones who understand that the easy way out isn’t always the most rewarding
I love it. I hate how much I love it. It is so awesome slammed on the ground like that. Cannot wait for the rear work. More More More.
That’s awesome. I’m glad this little car is getting so many people stoked
You do make it look easy, Excellent fab skills.😎
Thank you
I’ve always enjoyed your fab work. It would be boring if you just bought a kit and bolted on. I had a blue with white vinyl top Mustang II in high school. You and Finnegan need to do some old school mini truckin.
Thank you. We do need to meet up. He’s super busy though
I actually like the mustang 2. The cobras were pretty cool looking I thought. I might be the only one, lol, but I like them.
You and 6 others. You’re not alone
@@thedirtheadshed I mean that thing slammed on the ground, like a promod, what’s not to like.
Thats rad Dave. I had my doubts when you dug it out the weeds but im diggin it. Itll look great tuckin all 4.
I just gotta get the last of the mouse nest
Out!
I was so stoked to see it off the lift and on the ground it looks so good! Not the content I was expecting but LAWD is it the content I need I love it
It was pretty exciting!
Everybody: No one can make a mustang II cool
Dave: Hold my beer
Right!
Nope Dave... I'm over 50 and still building with the stuff I find around the shop. Hope to see you out on the trail sometime when I'm out in my Bronco!
Nice! See ya out there
I am 100% not a low rider guy. I smiled a big smile when you dumped the air and exclaimed how low it was. Cool project.
Right on. Glad you’re enjoying this one
I did not expect it to look THAT good, keep doing what you're doing.
Thanks! It’s definitely got a good vibe going
Looks sweet, Now it needs a laced and flaked roof!
You know I like doing custom paint…
26:30 it was a little funny to listen to you talking about the project while we're staring at that rad Nissan in the back
Poor lil
Nissan
That drop is amazing. Can’t wait to see it with the rear dropped.
Me either. Thanks
Dam bro that’s awesome can’t wait to see that stang rolling and that soft body 😊
It should just get better
Does look cool! Should just leave the back as is, looks cool with just the front slammed. Keep up the good work
Thank you
AWESOME I TOTALLY DIG THAT 😁 I have "feels" for Cool Stuff like this, I'm SO glad you did this because it's GREAT 🤘😁
Thanks! Glad you dig it
Whether it’s a big lifted rig w 35s or 37s tucked under the fenders, or a slammed rig scraping the asphalt tucking tiny chromies, it kind of seems like the process of fitting suspension to acommodate the wheel and tire package is pretty similar. It’s really cool to see the process from start to finish.
It’s all similar processes
Only you, can make a mustang II look cool
So you agree!! It’s getting cool
Can't wait to see what you do in the rear
It’s gonna be down and dirty
For what its worth, 125 wall tube is plenty strong for the biggest of vehicles under compression. When the open ends are restricted in movement (if welded to a flange), you could easily suspend the full weight of the car on one cup. The failure mode would be if they get dented from the side, then youre in trouble.
Im sure you remember as kids we could stand on an empty coke can and it would support our weight... and thats just a coke can.
Oh yeah. I remember
Sick build Dave. Thanks for just doing your thing and taking the time to show us. You're an inspiration and super talented. Keep up the good work and stay rad.
Thanks! I am stoked you all are enjoying it
Im now searching for a Mustang II, it would make a sick daily/cruiser.
Totally. Cool style and economical
The mustang ll is so much better then people give them credit for. Love these cars.
They really aren’t built bad at all
Damn. Who knew that could look that good! Thanks
Right!?
Great job! As usual. When you dropped that thing down for the first time, I fell in love!
It transformed it
Dave single handedly triples mustang II resale values !! 🤙
Who knew?
You might have just changed the world's view on a Mustang 2, and the thing it's good for is to harvest its front suspension for another project. It's going to be pretty sick all layer out and sitting in the weeds. I've always been into mini trucks, so I pretty much love anything on bags and laying frames though.
Same here
Hey Dave I'm in my mid 40s and I'm the same way. I build my own stuff and even if I buy something it never ends up the way I got it in the mail lol. Keep up good work man always love ur projects.
Thanks. Keep doing your thing
