Museum of Weapons and Armour Tradition of Gardone Val Trompia - English subtitle

The Museum of Weapons and Armour Tradition is part of the Trompia Valley Museum System and is included in the Iron and Mining Route.
The Museum, formally recognised by the Lombardy Region in 2010 as a museum collection, was created with the aim of contextualising the weapons sector in the life of the Gardonese community, through the reconstruction of the history of the great families of gunsmiths, the evolution of technological processes and economic and social life. The exhibition itinerary, which covers the period between the 15th and 20th centuries, unfolds on two levels:
the first, dedicated to the historical evolution of weapons, represented by the most significant examples of Gardone's production of blades, armour and firearms;
the second, dedicated to a significant didactic section, which, with the help of models and films, makes the history of the technological processes involved in the manufacture of weapons and the rediscovery of ancient techniques refined by centuries of experience accessible.
The large attic also houses the didactic workshop in which the furnishings of an arms workshop have been recreated.
