  • Many people who are interested in entering Healthcare sector want to know how to do it. This is a complete guide on how to setup a hospital. There are two parts of which this is the first part. The first step in the making of a hospital is to get a feasibility report. The feasibility report will cover the details about the existing healthcare infrastructure in the area of your interest. It will measure the gaps in the healthcare infrastructure, the opportunities and the threats. It will give the approximate amount of investment and the return on investment. The second step would be to get a detailed project report (DPR) prepared. The DPR would list the medical equipments which would be needed for making the hospital. This is the capital intensive part of the project and requires expert minds to define the type and make of the equipments to the installed. Next step would be to have a hospital planning team which will work with the architect to get the building and the services drawings prepared. Next step is to put in place a project team and get the project going. The next video will talk about the commissioning of the hospital and to challenges faced during the operationalization of the hospital. You have said that availability of medical officer is easy but it is not so. Most of doctors on duty in allopathic hospitals are bams while they should be mbbs due to non availability of MBBS doctor.

You are right but the issue is not the availability of MBBS doctors. Yes a large number of MBBS doctors prepare for PG exam but still every year 50000 MBBS doctors do not find a seat in the PG programme. The main issue is the cost. Since BAMS doctors are available in the salary bracket of Rs 15000 - 40000 per month, the hospitals are keen to hire them. MBBS doctors would not come for anything less than Rs. 60,000 per month.
