I used to fill one of those big under the bed storage totes with snow for the kids and put it on the kitchen floor for them to play with instead of having to go out in the cold to play in the snow and listen to them whine about wanting to go inside because they were too cold. They dump their hot wheels in the box of snow and make snowy race tracks and use the sandcastle molds to make snow castles playing inside with the heat on- the only downside was that they needed lots of glove changes because their hands were still so warm that it quickly soaked thru their gloves- then afterwards I could dump the snow outside and we’d have hot chocolate and then they wouldn’t be sick all of the next week from the cold- now I’d still occasionally let them go outside to play in the snow and make snow angels and sled down the hill and have snowball fightsbut they would still beg me to bring the snow inside for them to enjoy - they didn’t like that the snow outside was dirtier because of the grass and pine needles as I’d mostly get snow from the cars instead of the ground or if I had enough warning, I’d just put the box outside for it to collect fresh, clean snow without debris

First time my 1/2 Bengal saw snow we'd had 8 inches (unusual here in NC) It was fluffy snow so stayed nice and tall. I let Mac (short for McQuade) out on my deck and after a look, he jumped in and started digging like a bag of cat treats was at the bottom. 13 years later he still likes to run out in in when it's falling.

For whatever reason, most of my cats in the past hated water but loved snow. I guess because you can play with snow better, whereas water just reminds you of another bath. 😅
My sisters dogs are weird like that too, The Australian shepheard hated the sun and loved the snow and her husky loves the heat and hates the snow.
I had a cat that took a daily shower with me but he really got excited when I took baths & would lay on me & purr for an hour if I let him. He didn’t like snow, rain or outside water, just the nice warm water in my tub. 😺😻😺
I had a cat that also loved snow and would make snowballs, throw them in the air, and chase them.
Some cats love water. Turkish Vans are found near a lake named Van and they love swimming. Other cats go swimming too. Usually if you introduce it while the cat is young it is easier. They don't usually need baths unless they get stuck in oil or something like that. But some cats love water.
Her son is just having so much fun with that cat. Love his giggles.

We had a cat, Pearl, who hated water. It was actually one of the only things that really freaked her out. She liked to be the center of attention at all times and she would run out the door sometimes because she wanted you to chase after her. One time she got out after it had snowed and ran along the shoveled path and took a few steps onto the snow before she realized ‘Hey, this stuff is WET!!!’ Needless to say she never did that again 😂. Poor Pearl, she was a funny cat.
@Jimmy Jim unfortunately we only had Pearl for a few years before her kidneys failed. It was really sad because she was only about 6 years old. She was a very special cat

I used to Love seeing our cats play in the snow. Then we moved to Florida. An ice machine would have been really cool to fill the bath tub. Wish I'd thought about it back then! They did get the occassional ice cube to bat around but.. they would have preferred the snow, I'm sure. My dad has a great sun tan though! My redheaded, fair-skinned mother never did get a suntan...she did get big giant floppy hats to protect her from the burning orb. But Dad's tan was mighty fine!

This is absolutely priceless. I am writing this with a huge grin on my face. Kit is so adorable who has a beautiful fluffy tail. Putting snow in the bath tub for Kit to play with was completely bonkers fun. You could see how much fun he was having. Kit has obviously brought great joy and love to his earth angel lady and her family. ❤️. My three kitties most definitely did not like the snow.

I have found that some cat nip and effort on my part makes the older cats willing to play again. You have to find the stuff they like to do, which changes as they get older.
