I am just so emotional right now. Just thinking for how long I have waited for a whole, full pact, heavy, awesome, dark, inspiring album from them. And I am NOT disappointed. I LOVED IT. This is all and everything we fans could have wanted. There seems to be some issue with the mixing and the production but since I am not a musician or a sound engineer it didn't bother me.
The ending, with a broken voice of a lamenting soul, gosh, I was not ready. Makes me cry every time, starting from the chorus. Such a melancholic melody in such a heavy song!

Later, they dropped some singles that didn't belong to any particular album, just for fun. After this, the band dropped a symphonic album where they remastered some old songs and added some new ones. This one is their fourth studio album, but as it has new and old songs, as the songs were all recorded with symphonic instruments and as the marketing wasn't as hard as with previous albums, it isn't considered that much as an album de facto. When it comes to The Bitter Truth (TBT), it is now what we can call an official album, what fans do consider as their new album, the sucessor for "Evanescence" album. This is due to how the band has projected TBT, the amount of songs, all songs are new... So, this is the long short story of why you can't find a gap of ten years. It's funny how that "The band has releaed a new albu, after ten years of abscene" it's quite a clickbait haha
This band helped me through middle and high school, and now as a college grad I am continually amazed by their talent and still comforted by their music. Love you Amy and crew!
Same, crazy how we've all been around all those years, checking up on them, anticipating their new music, sometimes getting mad that they took too long breaks, I would decide to stop listening to them because it gave me hope they'd release more music, but I always came back because of the soft spot I have for them. This is hands down the best song in the album. I can see the contrast and synergy between the verse and the chorus working very well together, just like a Synthesis song. The verse starts with an immediate catchy tune, poppy and industrial, accompanied by heavy drums, and then the chorus comes and the song shifts to a very beautiful, dramatic and epic melody showcased by her powerhouse vocal. There's also contrasts between heavy instruments and soft, haunting backup vocals... sad, aching melody and hopeful, empowering lyrics. Ahhh, I can almost imagine a Synthesis version of this song in my head right now.

This album is much better than the previous self titled album! The last one was so straightforward and simple. This album has a lot diversity and experiment.
I love this album but I don't think Self-Titled was simple. Never Go Back and Erase This have really hard riffs. The Bitter Truth is for me Self-Titled with The Open Door vibes.

THE BEST ONE! I'm absolutely in love with this one! It's the song of 2021 so far! So powerful, so emotional, so touching... I'm 31 yo now and when I heard this one for the first time it was exactly the same feeling as when I was 13 and listened to Evanescence for the first time, an awe not so easy to explain! I'm so happy! Tears in the eyes! Thank you, Amy, for bringing this to us! I love you!
