I was once in love with a very lost soul.
I felt it was my calling, my destiny, to be a nest of safety. To be a way of light to this person who had grown up surrounded by so much darkness.
Who could only see the rest of the world through the lens of his unhealed hurt.
Back then, I would have given my soul to save him because I thought that’s what loving someone meant..
In return, he introduced me to hell.. and I nearly lost that same soul that I would have traded for his.
It was not love, it was trauma
But I came across this song. Through many of my own tears I finally gain the strength to walk away as I realized

I thank Amy Lee for putting into words the way my soul mourned to walk away from someone you cared for but could not save-

I can relate to this. Very similar situation rn. He had a traumatic childhood and I let the darkness emanating from him consume me. It is hard, but we will make it through this.
Similar situation here, I mourned and cried a lot through this song. Its a bitter lesson to learn, that you cannot be somebodies calling, destiny or safe nest. This can only be done by the other person, you can be some support of course, but you cannot heal or take away the hurt. This is not what love is for. If theres too much darkness, your love will drag you down into the other ones hell.

When "Bring me to Life" was used in the Daredevil film I really thought Evanescence would catch fire and she would become a global sensation but it never really happened. Amy is a star and always will be because she has stayed true to who she is and her music hasn't changed. I've been a fan of hers for 10 years and can't wait to see what she does next.

Killed my fiancee on the scene, I was air flighted and almost didn't make it. The SOB that hit us had a sprained ankle. They are still looking for him. Yes my heart is broken. I sometimes wish I wasn't here.

I personally feel that evanescence’s other songs are underrated. I mean it’s not that she isn’t recognized but I feel that people only focus mostly on “Bring Me Back To Life” which is a good song by its own, but at the end it’s like.... Cmon, this dark angel has plenty more to offer
I was sad when Lithium didn't become huge when they released The Open Door. One of their best songs in my opinion! And I think this album was highly underrated. so many great hits
Its just bring me to life. breakout album plus 2 other tracks on the much maligned DareDevil movie's soundtrack. Along with My Immortal and going under. She's learned even more skilfull singing since those early days. Her sheer force of personality & will is palpable.

There are some Evanescence songs that surpass 'Bring me to life' in excellence like my Immortal, lithium, going under, imaginary.... That's just my opinion though
Amy is pregnant but I feel after she has the baby, maybe it'll be another year or so, the band will pick back up. And if Evanescence is done, Amy isn't going anywhere. She's always open to new ideas and she loves making music and wants to do it for the rest of her life. Amy isn't going anywhere people and we'll still get to here this beautiful voice till the end in whether it's evanescence, a solo project, a movie, idk...one of the best singers will be doing something with music till she can't anymore. So don't worry about her quitting because that's just not happening :)
