I think they should cast Ariana Greenblatt, who was known for playing Daphne Diaz from Disney Channel series Stuck In The Middle, played a younger version of Gamora in Avengers: Infinity War, younger version of Ashoka in Ashoka, and America Ferreira’s daughter Sasha (basically based on Bratz) from a huge hit Barbie written & directed by Greta Gerwig, as Silena Beauregard in Season 2 ASAP!

And her appearance in Percy’s dream halfway through!
I actually like the idea of them adding a flashback of Thalia, Annabeth & Luke at some point, like they did with Sally & Poseidon in Season 1. Plus, that way the show-only people might assume that the only reason why Thalia gets cast for Season 2 is because she’ll be appearing in a flashback, so they’ll be caught off-guard by the big reveal at the end. 😄

@@TheMoonRover Yeah, as for the first one, I prefered the ''my best friend shops etc'' because it is the first title of the novel and it will be used as the ''I actually vaporize etc'' was used. Also the ''I get a new cabin mate'' is more intriguing and gives Tyson credits, who desreves it.
Moreover, Ep. 7, according to my outline, will take place in the isle of Polyphemus so the title i choce is more appropriate. And Ep. 8 as a final episode will have the final title of the book like S1EP8 had the ''prophecy comes true''.
However, we don't know if the adaptation would be faithgul and maybe some parts like Scylla and Charybdis will be removed because it would be difficult or expensive to be filmed. Concluding, we don't even know the exact number of episodes. It can be more than 8, it could be less than 8.
Episode 1 is probably "I Play Dodgeball With Cannibals".
Starting with Grover and then showing the school scenario will give Grover the opportunity to be focused on

Tbh there's no possible way to make a completely age accurate live action so I don't understand ppl already getting upset over it-- the kids know the characters and love them, that's all that matters to me really.

The siren scene is gonna be one of the most haunting scenes in the show and im ready

Walker said they filmed for like 10 months but a big reason it takes awhile is because they are minors. Once they hit their daily/weekly limit thats it. Plus they also have a certain amount of school hours to complete as well. Glad they renewed so soon though, it means the show did well and Disney will hopefully have bigger budget. Super excited for this tho!!!
I know in the book Annabeth turns Percy back into a human pretty fast, but I would really LOVE to see Leah act with a guinea pig for a whole scene, maybe because she doesn't get a chance to turn him back right away. I know this is never gonna happen but it would be HILARIOUS having her talk to a guinea pig while trying to figure out how to turn him back

As a fan of three other shows that were canceled in 2023, knowing that the Percy Jackson show is coming back makes me VERY HAPPY
It was such a rough year for amazing shows
Looking forward to Aryan in a wedding dress, the whole siren encounter, and percy as a guinea pig!
Also, I have a theory that since we got a bunch of percy flashbacks in season 1, they are going to give us some luke, annabeth, and thalia scenes in flashbacks for season 2. I feel like it would fit the themes of the book really well, give more background on luke and annabeth, explain why annabeth has such a thing against cyclopses, and set up the end of the season with the thalia reveal all at the same time!

That was an insanely short time before it was renewed. Usually it takes months. So great news in every way.
Yeah, usually it is either announced when the season finale comes out (if they already had renewed it in secret and were just waiting to announce) or a few months later (if they hadn't signed up the renewal when the first season came out and were waiting to see how it goes with audiences). That shows how successful this series was and how Disney is now fully banking on it.
I just saw some numbers and apart from a few Marvel and Star Wars series, Percy Jackson has the biggest viewing numbers for Disney on streaming. This is insane.
I guess Sea of Monsters will be the closest we'll get into seeing Hylla and Reyna

Walker hiding underneath a fat fluffy sheep is gonna be one of the biggest comedic reliefs in the show
I also wouldn’t mind the actors get a little break even if we have to wait, maybe another year or another six months we gotta remember these are kids when we get your childhood once and their childhood are already stressful being such a part of a popular franchise, especially since it’s a franchise that their age group loves! They need time to just be kids and hang out with their friends and family
People are mostly scared they might be too old for the role by the time they start filming, but I've seen 25 year olds play highschoolers, so i honestly think people shouldnt be worried.

I could imagine that they might even tell the May Castellan part in the second season and delve more into Luke's psychology
Flashbacks are a really good way to tell what made him the person he becomes more and more in SoM from episode to episode, especially when they're preparing for Thalia and want to show the dynamics of the old trio
This woukd be absolutely horrible, we dont need to know anything about Lukes mother until the 5th book. Unfortunately we know some but any more information on her would be terrible for the last season

@@MasterPloyeah i kinda agree.... s2 is too early to meet her. i think the story would suffer a lot if they keep prioritising set ups and foreshadowing and seed plantings instead of just telling the story that needs to be told per the book they're adapting

The only movies I’m aware of them filming back to back was The Lord of the Rings, and that didn’t star child actors so child labor laws weren’t an issue. (I’m sure other movies have done it as well, LoTR is just the only one I’m certain about.)

I don’t mean this disrespectfully, in any way shape or form, but being around kids in the special needs classes in school because of my autism I just pictured Tyson similar to someone with Down syndrome or something similar because of a friend in school that was similar in personality to Tyson but I doubt they will go that route. I am VERY excited to see your updates about casting, filming & production 😄!!!

Hope you are big and beefy. 😆 Tyson was supposed to be taller and more muscular than other kids, but that still look like a 13 year old while beeing a baby/kid Cyclope (I think that we never really learned Tyson's true age in the books).

I haven't read these books in a little over 10 years. I just finished Lightning Thief and Sea of Monsters this week, and I forgot how much I loved this series. Loved season 1 and can't wait for season 2!

What I hope to see for S2:
- More Camp Half Blood. Tantalus (Mark Hamill, obvious choice), the chariot race, birds attack, Harpies.
- Improve the CC's Spa Resort chapter. Hylla and Reyna Cameo.
- Percy and Tysons relationship. I want to see the campers bullying Tyson and making fun of Percy. I want that peer pressure that Percy feels. Definitely would make Percy's acceptance more powerful.
- A full episode or Half of one that tells the story of Luke, Thalia, Annabeth, and Grover traversing through the country, trying to survive (being tricked by the the cyclops in a house)
- Clarisse bada** moments. Defending the Camp, ordering her campers while fighting the bulls, her scene with Ares. They could really develop Clarisse even more.
- Actually call Riptide by its name! Have Grover eat tin cans in the cave, cameos by Thalia in Percy's dreams

considering most of seasons 1s flaws were a disney budget problem, i honestly think all of above can be fitted in season 2 as disney finally sees the potential in PJO.
Everyone’s stressed about the kids growing, which I get, but also twentysomethings play teenagers all the time, so I think it’s gonna be just fine. Even having actors play characters, like, only three years younger than them is rare.
Can't wait to see Reyna and Tyson. And Grover in the wedding dress

it got 26 million views for the premiere episode in 3 weeks. Of course it's renewed. For reference, House of the Dragon got 29mil average per episode; and that stood on GOT's shoulders. Percy is the first Disney+ original big hit that is not SW or Marvel. Of course it's renewed. Plus, data showed a lot of the viewers were teens that are younger than the books; Percy Jackson books are back on NYT best selling list. Of course it's renewed; they're also integrating the IP with their parks already in progress.
remember when annabeth fell in the Sea of Monsters Movie and she stayed on the floor and screamed for percy to help her up….. MY annabeth would NEVER!

Since Walker and Aryan have already “fancast” a Thalia, i personally think she should have more screen time through flashbacks both since sea of monsters is quite short and to give more context to Luke’s backstory
Im actually hoping they would add in the Diary of Luke Castellan story from the Demigod Diaries as a flashback for Luke. Like for some reason I would like the show to lean more into Luke +Thalia relationship while Annabeth also gets to deal with that on her end(even if it removes the romantic element that would still make sense)

What will Annabeth’s motivations/temptations be? Will she join Luke temporarily? Will Percy’s eyes change color? These are things I want to see!
I’m really looking forward to just seeing Percy and Tyson, and just seeing Bruce struggle and acceptance of Tyson’s brother that was so awesome in the books. Percy is really the only one who is nice to Tyson from the Geico.
I was hoping with how big of a success season 1 was that they would just green-light it for all 5 seasons because they are going to need to start filming these seasons back to back or the cast is going to age too quickly.
back to back can be illegal because of child labor laws. But you shouldn't worry about the age, its more important that the show is good and what the cast can pull off.

I'm guessing they will do a mix of practical and cgi for Tyson. We've seen in more recent movies that that usually creates the most realistic effects. If I had to guess, practical makeup to form the eyelid/area around the eye with the eye itself being cgi

Only good thing about the Seat of Monsters movie, is that it sucked so bad that we now have this show because of it
They really need to renew for all five seasons and film them back to back... otherwise the cast will be in their 20's by the time season five gets filmed. Rick complained so much about the movies 'aging up' the actors, and yet, they are running into the same exact problem now.
I liked the sea of monsters book. Even though I had a little hard time getting into the book.
I can't wait for the new characters, Tyson, Thalia, Charles Beckendorf, Silena, And we can't forget the Stoll Brothers
I know they've been working on the script for a while now, but I hope they take all the critics in consideration and change what needs to be changed to make the show even better.
Honestly the great thing is that disney considers pjo seriously now, so their putting more budget into the show which hopefully emphasizes the writing, set and the scenes.
That was certain considering how the critics acclaimed this serie. Also, they might improve on some points that were bad in this serie, since it will be their second one and Rick has probably some of the critcs and problems that people had on the first season. So, I can't wait.

Do you think it's possible for a Reyna cast already👀? I know she's a huge character in hoo, so I don't know if they'll cast her so soon, but ONE CAN DREAM. Something cool about the show is we get to see other's characters' perspectives, and if we get to see Annabeth's side while in Circe's Island, we'll certainly see Reyna. If not that, I'm hoping we at least get something like Hylla calling for her during the mess, like a fun easter egg!
