Japan | ski Furano p.1 (with trail map)

In this Ski Japan series, we skied at Furano ski resort in the Kitanomine zone. This is to give you a feel for what the ski slopes in this area are like. We hope you enjoy it and if you have any questions or comments, please feel free to drop them in the comment section. Our favourite intermediate run in this area was the Ladies Downhill all the way to the bottom of the Gondola due to its steepness at the top and so much powder near the bottom

Thanks for this. Planning a visit this December if they let tourists return. Stayed at the new side last year, will stay at the old side this year.

Yes that would be great if they let tourists return.
How did you find staying at the new side last year?
We’re from Australia and it doesn’t look too promising at the moment in terms of opening the borders.
We had a blast last year at Furano with a decent snow base and lack of wind around Christmas time :) Will definitely make a return trip in the near future when we can

A lot of tourists that aren't staying at the hotel come through it so they can visit that Ningle Terrace attraction that they have right behind the hotel. In general: pretty well managed in the Japanese fashion, nothing too memorable other than the ski slopes... no complaints either. 😊 Cheers and be safe as well!

Which date in December did you visit furano? I'm planning to go mid December but i'm wondering if kitanomine zone would be opened then.

It was a couple of days before Christmas day and we had plenty of snow. Looks like Kitanomine zone is scheduled to open from mid-December 2022 according to the Prince Hotel’s website:
