- The Speaking sub-test is delivered individually and takes around 20 minutes. This part of OET uses materials specifically designed for medical profession. In each role-play, you take your professional role (for example, as a nurse or as a pharmacist) while the interlocutor plays a patient, a client, or a patient’s relative or carer.
A migraine is a headache that can cause severe throbbing pain or a pulsing sensation, usually on one side of the head. It's often accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and extreme sensitivity to light and sound.
This video highlights a role-play between nurse and a female patient who has migraine.

The one who has done examiner role is appreciated.. Done great job...
I work in Ireland . It’s very important to mind your tone during communication or else it looks artificial. Moreover if you go to western countries and speak in a flat tone it could mean u don’t care for the patients concern or they may think you are too bold or rough. I know nurses who faced issues with workmates and patient next of kin’s .
It's really amazing video. And its helpful to me. Thnk ku so much for this video
It's really helpful to me. Thnk you
This type of conversation may increase the migrane
😂😢
😂😂
I feel the nurse was not polite when she was talking with the patient.
Tried good, but in my small suggestion, need a natural dialogue delivery with casual expression will enhance the conversation. No need to stare while talking
Thank you
Excellent
Was the roleplay that good? The selection of words? Can't we considered synonyms in a polite way to say a simple 'NO'......... I must say that this roleplay was better 👍.
P 9lo
The nurse conversation ok but sympathy words and face also can improve in your side
Riya mam its helpful for me ! Thank you for this one!
So dramatic the irony is the interviewer saying to speak naturally but she herself is more dramatic and byheart😅
Sympathy in words is too low upon nurses words
That's right
Yea.. I noticed it..
Yup right
Yes
It is like news reading
👌
Really helpfull👍👍
It was like really artificial.
Such an amazing video. It is influencing me to study that wonderful topic.
👍
Is that ok to verify paper instead of maintaining eye contact ??
Yes..the one sitting infront of u ,is not the one evaluating your English
The candidte can talk little politely .....
Yea.. Could have done politely.. Wasn't pleasant and she looks strict to the patient..
Candidate should be little polite
ലാസ്റ്റ് role play explain ചെയ്തപ്പോൾ ഉള്ളപോലെ oru expression എങ്കിലും നഴ്സിന് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ migraine കുറച്ചു കുറഞ്ഞേനേ
Please reply me mam.. Is there any need to address the patient as Ms Nancy throughout the roleplay.
Not necessary
Try to reduce the number of "So"
Please include feed back questions in role play
Can you please show role play card in description or before starting roleplay. if doing means its really helpful
You are correct Ms.Elsa.
No signposting
No paraphrasing
No chunking and checking
Appreciate your effort, but there were many grammar mistakes. Kurachu kudi shraddhichu cheithal nannayirikkum. 🌼
The role play seemed to be so dramatic. There was no natural way of talking. nurse looks little tensed. the patient says she has pain of around 7 in pain scale then also the nurse response was blunt no mental support no empathy. i think it could have been even better. thanks for uploading
Yes bro.. U are right..
S you r correct script
Your both conversation is very efficient... Plz make more videos by these two people 💕💕
Why shouldn't the nurse address her pain when she informed about migraine?
Beware before taking this kind of videos,if you want to the reason why I said this is because during the entire video her eyes was on the script which you have given it to her.
Good dears
Ther ws no up and down in nurse's voice......voice modulation is very important. ..
Excellent ❤
It's good and thank you
So dramatic but good effort.
Grammer mistakes und
Nurse part please release some Air
Empathy is missing and so may okays.
Very well executed... 👏👏👏
Kindly show task so we can also try to compare ourself 🙄
Sound modulation was not good not a polite speaking
Can u provide the case note
Hello friends we are New York Academy. Kodumon
Malluuu accent dominated
Mistakes..
No empathy ( I am sorry to hear to hear that)
Not asking for any more questions
Not helding U should use holding
Discuss about is not correct ...discuss means 'to talk about.'....
Every one can read a script presented before him or her.
Artificial feeling
Nurse should show her expressions....v hopeless role by nurse
Nice video 😎
lack of reassurance and voice modulation.however it s very nice
Answer പറയുന്ന ആൾ മസിൽ പിടിച്ച് ഇരിക്കുന്നു 🤪🤪
Attitude 😀..
She is Nurse, ohh no ohh no ohh no no no no👎👎👎
Should be polite ..so nurse need to improve way of speech.. Voice modulation should be polite..otherwise nurse spoke well
Better to explain in english completely.
No sympathy, politeness
Rude nurse🥵
The nurse is facial expressions not to welcoming, and she was too brief
Not a natural speaking, feel like just reading, No sympathy
the examiner’s pronunciation and grammar is not good. There’s no word called “informations”
It’s either information (plural) or a piece of information (singular)
Also try to talk naturally. Even though you said about it initially,it was not seen much in the role play. Also, the person who took the nurse’s role looks super tensed.
So irritating to hear ur explaination with ur mother tongue 🤮
Better dont watch instead of vomiting here
