Super helpful, thank you! I was taught to throw from the shoulders, even though the teacher said to use my hip to stabilise my elbow, but never demonstrated it. Now that I know how it works, I want to try to throw bigger. Thank you!!

Thank you Rachel! These tips are very helpful. The bracing against my body, not just the thighs, is a new idea. Thanks 😊

You are a great teacher. My wife and I subscribed. Question if you don't mind: I am a beginner and my wife has a little experience in ceramics but lots more in glass. Anyhow, question: Any suggestions for potters' wheel? Again, thanks!

This is too long a delay, obviously, but my excuse is that I've been using UA-cam as a tool for class rather than actually checking comments.
Anyway, I throw on a Thomas Stuart (I think its a Legend) and I really like it. I learned on a Lockerbie kick wheel and loved that massive beast. I've also enjoyed throwing on a Brent CXC and a Brent C. Clay Boss and Shimpo Whisper are also good, though imho the Stuart combines durability and power with relatively low cost (compared to Brent which is also know for durability and power)

Thank you! I have problems with the very bottom. It wobbles and I don’t know how to center it down there . Any tips ? 😊

How does one fix, "center" the clay when the inside of the clay is slightly off but the outside is centered? It's not an air pocket, its as if the very middle of the clay, near the base, has more clay on one side than the other. I usually feel it as I creat that 1st opening.

if you're using clay out of the bag, i think if it feels centered, then it really should be centered, and the mass of the clay should be evenly distributed, otherwise you would probably feel it. if you feel something as you're creating the first opening, then perhaps you're introducing an inconsistency in your hand speed/stability when you're opening
