For the spotlight camera I used, they make a solar panel to keep the batteries charged

They do. That can get bulky and obviously you need it in a part of your house that gets sun. But yes that’s an option.

I figured you’d have an old school security system like spiked trap or pendulum blade.

Was thinking about that but times have gotten bad. Trying to light and record the area to deter the idiots.
