Yeah, interesting, my view is that I make the live stream, then package it for people who aren't likely to sit through the livestream itself. But yeah, people are excited for this launch! Device should be in hand on Tuesday all being well.
In fairness to Kit, any of his regular viewers would know the UA-cam thumbnail wasn’t him ergo he wasn’t misrepresenting.
Obviously if someone was a new viewer, I understand it could be perceived as misleading.
4:10 X colour, exactly, that is what is needed, but then I guess we have to wait for its Pro which is assumed to be faster, etc. How long do you think will need to release that?!
Reasons I preordered it: I started with the Kindle Scribe, loved the screen, hated the limitations. Bought the Tab Ultra, loved the versatility, but always felt the screen was behind the Scribe. Sold it for the Tab Ultra C, loved the colors at first, but now I feel no joy in using it because of the weight and mostly because of the need of the front light almost all the time. Got the Palma, really really enjoyed the screen and the size and portability. I see in the Go 10.3 something I will just enjoy using, no need for front light, light weight, but still able to use android apps.

This is what happens when you can’t physically view and test the devices in store - or if you can try one, there’s no other devices to compare it to. We end up buying them all. Don’t get me started on the awfulness of the screen on my first device - the BOOX Nova Air 1. The second gen claimed a 50% improvement in clarity - using the exact same screen - by not doing a terrible job of implementing it. I guess next time we should fly to whichever country has the model we want on display to try it out so that we can save the planet from excess purchases.

@CyrilJap I've been on a similar journey. Bought and returned a Scribe because of the firmware limitations. Bought an NA3C for the play store and colour. Not thrilled with Kaleido, and disliked the clunky UI, so I returned it and bought another Scribe. Not completely sure that the Supernote A5X2 will completely meet my needs either, but was waiting for it because of the UI and replaceable parts. Then this comes out, and looks like an excellent middle ground between reMarkable/Supernote and NA3/Tab Ultra Pro. Mine should arrive on Monday!
Just bought one in a shop in Taipei yesterday. I like it so far, it has many features I couldn't find all in one single e-reader.
I was about to order note air 3 because I needed longer battery life, so disregarded the note air 3c, but now they’ve launched the 10.3 go. I need third party apps such as onenote, so I can view my notes on a laptop. Or I might find I’ll just use the boox notes app instead. Can’t wait to see your review on the 10.3 so I can finally buy an eink. I need battery life more than anything, and I’d love to see if the note air3c case fits the 10.3 because having it standing in portrait/upright will be useful. So please check and see if the tri fold case on the note air3c fits the 10.3 go series.

I finally cracked and ordered Go 10.3 through your affiliate link. Fingers crossed for me to fall in love with it? It's not the 8-9 inch I wanted for more portability but knowing the market , I expect the next version will be 7 or 7.8" which is just that slight bit too cramped for digital planners (my experience on nova air c). Its still lighter and smaller than my galaxy th s8. Worst case scenario is I buy a bigger purse.
After 6 months' use of the NA 3, I realize I don't need a frontlight and don't much use the SD card. This looks good!
Yeah, I haven't needed extra storage yet on an eink tablet. Some people have massive digital libraries they like to keep handy.
I need mirror out to tvs or monitors by usb for work... Hopefully they can implement it. I tried wifi cast by android and windows, and it's just too unstable and slow even when it's supported.
I feel like this Go 10.3 might be perfect entry level for students. Ability to be productive with Android but super portable as an alternative to laptops in class.
Kim - first of all a long overdue thanks for all the invaluable perspective and advice you bring to all of us. One minor contribution / question regarding the new Go 10.3 based on somebody who has tried and bought them all for my sins. Leaving aside front light / android etc etc. As much as I dont really use it anymore, I am still holding the writing experience on the Remarkable 2 as superior to all of the others (Supernote ; Boox ; Kindle) being, in my opinion, the closest to paper feel like writing ( I love the 'friction') .... Boox is not great in my opinion from that perspective and I have not managed to fall in love with the special 'feel' with the Supernote. If the Boox Go 10.3 were to replicate the same feel in writing of the Remarkable 2 it would be ideal - it would be great if you could focus also on this aspect when you test it in the next few days - thanks in advance
I own only rM2 and I am very interested in getting something that I know will be faster and with a better software capability like distortion of elements, I’m a designer so I like drawing letters a lot. I make lots of written notes and after reading your input it looks like rM2 is still better in the written experience. I might just wait to see what rM does when they come out with a new device , it better be amazing in performance with more ram more space and improved software overall, I want rM to be the Best, I really do lol. 😅
Can you suggest a 7" small e reader to read scientific articles in PDF?
A simple workaround would be the Note Go 7 inch with the Moon Reader App which also offers PDF reflowing capability, for instance. Note, please do your research and check if this is viable, but in principle it should be. The Readera app should also work and is open source, but probably does not offer pdf reflow.
🙋♂️Hi Kit! Though I can't use the Remarkable 2 due to software constraints to be honest .1mm is not a huge difference and no one will notice that in hand unless you carry a caliper with you. Would have been nice to see this in an aluminum or magnesium alloy, but as long as it works well, plastic will do fine for me. Looking forward to this device. Kudos from NYC.🗽
Agreed! Another comment said it was a mix of aluminium and plastic... we shall see soon enough!
I've got the Chinese version which is X3 pro with front light, decent device. Shocking that GO 10.3 is only 380 usd in US but 420 euro in EU/UK

Is this device repairable? Or will we experience the same disaster as with the Kindle Oasis, i.e. when the battery is broken, you cannot replace it?

Does it include 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity? I am not seeing this wording in the website. So i am assuming will be like writing with a ball point pen.
Yeah, it do, it's the same Wacom EMR Pen Plus as on the Note Air 3 line.

It is a mixed-material build, on the Boox website they wrote: " the shell of the Go 10.3 is made by metal. The back of the device is covered by PU material."

yes, kindle scribe is good hardware but the software is completely closed, with the problem of also having very restricted funcionality

Why don’t they put the light behind Screen
Eink displays work by the charged capsules reflecting light, so putting a light behind the screen wouldn't work as next to no light would pass through the display.
