Need to go back to the old-timey way of shopping, I guess. That was when a customer came in to the store with a list of items they wanted and gave it to the clerk. The clerk would gather them from the back of the store. The customer would pay, and then they were given the items to take home. Or even the old Service Merchandise model would do. There would be a sample item chained to the shelves and a piece of paper with the product information to take to the clerk. You buy the item and then folks in the back sent it down a conveyor belt to the clerk who handed it to you. Even Video/DVD rentals/sellers had to get into the act with putting an empty box/case on the shelf.

They might be doing enough of a job of it on their own, because in AZ there are a large number of people who rent apartments (not sure if maybe with a co-signer?), trash them, then at some point you see then throwing all their stuff in the dumpsters and running off in the middle of the night before the next month's rent is due. I doubt very much that helps the credit rating of whoever's name is connected to the unit being rented.

In the first place, if Arizona can lock up California shoplifters, more power to them. We've got a lot to spare over here. Second, blaming Gascon isn't going far enough. The whole system is rotten, not just Gascon. Judges let criminals out of prison even when they're due to be sentenced to prison for serious crimes; we had a guy get this break from a judge not once but twice; the second time he murdered a Riverside County Sheriff's deputy. The judge won't get a 3rd opportunity to let the guy go; the cop's coworkers filled the guy in pretty thoroughly. But in addition to that, even if the criminal is caught, even if Gascon or whoever decides to prosecute, even if the judge sentences them to years incarceration, they can only be sent to County Jail unless the crime is "violent". If they're sent to County Jail, well all of those (pretty much every one in the state) are under Federal Court order to release prisoners to reduce overcrowding; the result is people get sent to prison for years but are out typically in weeks.
Yeah, we're screwed. Pretty much everyone here can figure out it's a problem. The difficulty is that no Democrat will actually follow through on the "criminals should be in prison" idea, and of course the Republican "MAGA extremists" can't be voted into office regardless. Since there's literally no opposition to what the Democrats do, they keep doing it.

Way to gin up the anti-California fear and paranoia. And as an aside, Attorney Rachel Mitchell looks like what you'd expect an Arizona 'tough on crime' personality to be.

Sounds more like she's making excuses for her rise in crime. Why would people go do crime in another state with more strict laws on theft *because* the laws in their state are laxed? Wouldn't they wanna stay and do it on their own state? Things are just getting bad everywhere

@@muddyhotdog4103 Arizona blames their homeless problems on California also. As is the State of California collectively woke up one day and said 'let's let homeless people do Fentanyl and sleep in the streets'. It's a national problem.

we all end up paying for it.. that's what I told the Home Depot guy after they robbed and stole three drills right in front of him he couldn't do anything. This is on power Road .. but yeah, they're even swapping the homeless shelters and services here in Arizona especially the CBI where they deal with drugs and stuff like that... seen it firsthand normal guy who is homeless can't even get into a homeless shelter for one night but if you're a drug user they take you right away pretty interesting.. this was in the summer when it was 115° out I try to bring a guy there he was 75 they were only taking women and children.. Arizona does very little for their homeless population. They should hand it over to the Fed. Let them deal with it.... they would get much better help.. anyway, I took the guy in for a few days because he couldn't find anywhere or any shelter that would take them. The only one that possibly would take them but they were swamped anyway it was phoenix Midtown. The one that you always see on TV
