It's a damn shame EA had this game released the same time as Elden Ring. It's like they were trying their hardest to kill this franchise off. It's actually very solid fun.

Honestly, Grid Legends is such a beautiful looking and sounding game. I'm also pretty impressed with how well they did the external sounds. I hope in the new Forza Motorsport, PG can show off the sounds a bit better. From the game trailer I'd say they are going in the right direction, but I doubt they'll top Grid just yet.
I really hope they use the "ray"-traced audio they used in FH5 on Motorsport, it really brings the sounds to life and makes them feel more connected with the world. I'm pretty sure they will, considering the game will be current gen only, and you could actually hear it pretty clearly in the gameplay we've seen, for example, you could clearly hear the sound of cars like the Huracán GT3 bouncing off the rocks from the waterfall

As… iffy as the sounds in FH5 are(they’re way better than 3 and 4, fight me), they tend to sound a shit ton more natural.

Not a fair comparison tbh. One offers a massive collection of cars with decent customization options while the other offers a much smaller curated collection of cars with great attention to detail but only barebones customization options.
It’s impressive how the devs of nfs made these car sounds so realistic but it’s a shame they can’t add most of the cars on here than in like other past games for example nfs hot pursuit had a range of different nice looking cars but hopefully nfs 2022 is gonna be a good game with a range of nice cars within each category

Personally I think grid legends is a good and solid racing game, not the best grid game out of the franchise but still very good. It's a shame they released this game close to gran turismo 7 and elden ring

For me personally some cars sounds a little bit too quiet and I don't know, flat maybe. Furai and 787B doesn't sound like rotary-powered cars at all. Otherwise, sounds are pretty good. I like the BT62, Zonda, M3 GTR and Panoz GTR-1. But the graphics is INSANELY good! Especially in terms of objects around the tracks.
I've always like the sound design in Grid games (as it generally goes with Codemasters' games), specially these two last ones, but there's one thing that really bugs me, well two: The fact that gear shifts are so slow, even in like GT3 class cars. I mean, it totally makes sense in older cars (which is something other games don't get right), but like, why would a RSR GTE shift in more than like .3 seconds? Another thing is that cars sound like the clutch is always partially being pressed, they just sound too.. accelerated..? I guess
@@metaridley77 They don’t lose speed. In the codemasters racing games, vehicle speed is measured at the wheels. The weird shifting mechanics in that game contribute to the speedometer losing accuracy during modulation of the throttle.
Wow. This is the first time since the crew came out & i had made this point that someone else has made the same comment. Look for mine. Its such a turn off & has stopped me from buying multiple racing games. When you ask for an upshift you should receive & upshift, not an upshift with a delay & HORRIBLE SOUND in between. Such a turn off
Only thing about the sounds that I don't like is how we don't have the aggressive pops and backfire we had in Grid 2019. This is especially evident with the BT62 which sounded way better in 2019
I've got to admit the car sounds do sound quite realistic and finally reach a lvl again that matches nfsu2. Also GT7 did a good job regarding the car sounds compared to earlier titles in the series. But you got to listen to the Porsche GTE RSR in Automobilista 2. That's what it should be like.

well, the furai was still a concept back in the incident day. It was one of my dream cars to grow up with, but yeah mazda didn't have any plans to do a remake of that masterpiece. RIP Furai.
It has good sounds but some cars sound off imo ( the 787B and the Furai for example ), they sound more like a V10 instead of a rotary and while the sifting sound is good for the most part, it sounds wrong in cars with paddle shifters (bc it sounds and change gears like a manual car). Other than that is pretty a decent game.
But Furai and 787B sound like v10s still. Nice to know that is appreciated anyway, unfortunately as a car enthusiast I can't bear the absence of proper 3 and 4 rotor sounds. They should record some driftcar with theese layouts. And, GTR sounds properly XD
Thats the hardest part about trying to emulate even a fraction of rotary engine sounds are almost impossible. It is however can be solved with ange's new rotary engine sim update, the sim will totally give devs a new way to get sound samples, both simulated and real samples can be obtained in the future with the engine sim angethegreat made.

I feel like the budget went almost all to the fireworks and the guy responsible for those went crazy. It's like someone asked how many fireworks he wanted and he only responded with an yes. After playing this game I now have PTSD and can't sleep because in my head I only hear that sound 😢
Lots of sneering at Grid Legends on UA-cam, but I quite like it. I mostly skipped the cheesy story mode, just playing the career and find the racing more engaging than in GT7 where you start from way back and time trial your way through the pack. Yes, the car sounds really help make the game, particularly in the cockpit views. My favorite is the Ferrari 512 BB, devs nailed the flat 12 sound.
Wish you knew this prior to making the video but you can set up ramps in maps which you could use to make hilarious crashes XD, usually rhe ramps are set for stadium trucks but who said only stadium trucks get the right to use em 👀
i feel like if they would of released it sooner than it would have picked up a lot more traction, unfortunately some other big games got released and outran it

Engine Sounds are good but the shifting Sounds are the worst I've ever seen and it kills the game for me.
Shifting sounds are fine, just shifting time is too long in modern cars.
