Hi there-great video. I’m getting ready to order this exact vise and cannot decide whether to order it with the “standard jaw” or the “midge jaw”??
I tie mostly trout flies in the size 18-10 range….with a few 20s and a few 8s. I also tie some saltwater flies in the range of size 1 to size 4/0. I’d say I tie about 80% trout flies and about 20% saltwater flies.
What would you recommend--standard or midge jaw?
    Thanks,
    Rob

@@Rob1cool Personally I would go with the standard jaw. You can get a midge jaw and just swap them out if you find you need it. Mostly I’m tying in the #22 to #14 range, so I have both jaws just to try them out.

Greetings, that is indeed a nice device. Is your vice right handed. The jaw is facing toward the right, all knobs are facing toward you, flies a tied with your right hand and you rotate the tool with your left hand.

I am left-handed, but I've always been a bit ambidextrous. For me, tying has always been a bit that way, especially since you almost always have both hands involved. I've not set up or received any vice specifically for a lefty, and it has never been an issue for me in my tying. Thanks for reaching out!

This vise model is pricey. Likely between $1,000 to $1,150.
